Saw Cave and the Seeds last night at Hammersmith, and it was fantastic. Jubilee Street is such an incredible song live.
And I planted my bolo knife in the neck of mad John Finn. I took his wretched life.
Now I'm over near the bandstand, every hand moving on John Finn's wife...

Cool. I'm really hoping they do some shows down here on the back of the new album, hopefully this coming summer. :)

Saw him in Edinburgh last night and it was the same for me with Jubilee Street. Absolutely fantastic live and a different pace from the album. Delighted to hear From Her To Eternity and Stranger Than Kindness too. He was on great, humorous form last night. Took my dad to the show and he was a bit overwhelmed by the volume... :D

Haha :D He was pretty damn funny on Sunday, too. Improvising new lyrics in Red Right Hand while standing amongst the front row. "You ain't... got a better fuckin' camera than that? He'll get you one. He'll upgrade you, baby."

Also, introducing Mermaids: "You don't know it yet, but one day you'll wake up and realise this song is a stone cold fucking classic. One day... just not today."

Anyone get tix for next summer's U.S. Tour?

I missed out on the Sandbag presale yesterday, but was able to score pit seats today through a different presale.

He is playing at the 6,000 seat Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles....8 months to go!

Got my tix for Nick Cave with Mark Lanegan in Vancouver! WHOOHOO!! So glad they announced a second show, since I missed out on the first sale. I'm actually slightly more excited about Mark Lanegan, lol. I couldn't believe my luck when I saw that he's opening! Row 19, right on the centre isle. And on Canada Day, too! Not too shabby! :-bd

:-bd I am so jealous, but happy for you! I just read that the man has added more dates since the Oz/New Zealand shows have sold out so quickly. I would love more than anything to see him in that setting. I'm seeing him in Portland on Saturday:) As much as I love the Bad Seeds. I would love to have seen this:

It's gonna be so interesting to see what hes like on his own without the Bad Seeds., I guess kinda like EV solo without the guys, I mean not the same of course but if EV can do it I'm sure NC can. :)

e.t.a. I've since read he does have a band with him, just not the Bad Seeds.

Portland show was excellent. A lot of slower songs and more lounge-y than usual even. Nick definitely took advantage of the concert hall setting and crooned his heart out, which I can get behind all the way, lol. He was in great spirits, humor, and was in the crowd a good majority of the night. After being groped and numerous advances from the audience, Nick laughed and
announced "Talk about sexual harassment in the workplace..." LOL. Never a dull moment as usual.

    More highlights:
-Opened with very croon-y "We Real Cool", and long, epic intro. Nick's voice is perfection.
-Nick's shadow on the wall was extra groovy
-Introducing Papa Wont Leave You, Henry , "This song's an early-mid period Cave fucking classic"
-Cool to see Barry Adamson in the band again!
-The Weeping Song with Mark Lanegan was awesome

Yep def excited for this one too! We have tickets to the Sunday night show here in Auckland, pretty good seats by the look of it, not too far away from the stage. Never seen him live so really hoping he does 'Red Right Hand' live!

Him climbing into the crowd (for two entire songs!) was so cool. He made it absolutely surreal and so intense. Loved it!

  • I saw him last year in Boston, it was phenomenal. I really wanna see his movie. Hopefully I'll be able to find a screening that works.
