As I already pointed out, it's pretty hard to avoid buying products made in China because damn near everything is. The lawmakers who made a big flap about the U.S. Olympic uniforms being made in China were probably all wearing clothes from China (or El Salvador, Malaysia or Turkey, to name a few). When even my beloved Converse All Stars are made in China, that's a little mind-blowing.

That's why I don't "judge" if someone buys things made in China. I just seem to remember when we took a lot of pride in things made in the US. And I don't have a lot of regard for companies that take their jobs overseas. Especially during times when we have such high unemployment.

For the record, all the shoes I've bought the last few years were made in Germany. It's not a deliberate decision to support the Germans, it's because they're well-made shoes that last a long time. If there's a comparable brand made in the US, I'll be glad to buy it.

But why debate anything with you? You don't give any post actual thought or consideration, just reply with some snarky comeback and a bunch of :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:. It's not about discussion with you, it's about "winning" an argument, which apparently you feel you always do.

I just state the facts. It's not about winning...I just state the facts and put it out there. We can all hope for some idealisctic society but that's not reality. Sure, I'd love for all the manufacturing to come back to this country but until the US worker is willing to work for those salaries or the US public is willing to pay higher prices for products it isn't happening. What people tend to forget is the companies that have moved their operations to this country and have provided jobs becasue it makes financial sense and the general US population has the skills to perform these jobs. I'm in the auto industry...why is no one complaining about the Asian carmakers that actually produce more cars in the US vs. US carmakers? Toyota, Honda, and now almost now even Hyundai produce more cars INSIDE US boundaries than ANY of the US carmakers. GM is pretty much concentrating on China. Why? It makes finacial sense. Money drives the World. Always has and always will. Let them sow sneakers and other knick knacks...Ill take the higher skilled and paying jobs.

its because Asian cars are better than American cars

    just stating facts

Japanese cars can actually handle corners.... American cars think corners are an inconvenience.

Ho hum. Whatever you want to call it.

It's still not a discussion if all you do is state your incontrovertible "facts" and make fun of other's posts. You've made up your mind and there's no consideration of any other point of view.

Facts are facts. :? :fp:

but your "facts" have been stuff like 'nobody speaks Spanish in America' and 'we invented denim'

facts that are just not factual.... if you cant get basic shit like that correct then why should we believe your other 'facts' such as people 'could care less' about the Olympics ... that one is correct, people could care less... that means they actually care.

its not even an overstatement... its just nonsense. He thinks that the last 200 years of US history is more important than anything else that has ever happened??? Thats just jingoism encapsulated... I'm an atheist but I think the whole jesus and christianity is a bigger deal than MTV, steel warships and falsely claiming to have invented denim.

I mean we did pull over a statue of their leader while the masses cheered correct? I'm fairly sure anytime soon if the US were somehow taken over and the Washington Memorial were pulled over there would be no cheering by the nationals. Also, Iraq is too busy chasing around they're own "political leaders" to be any kind of threat.

You didn't answer my question. What World crisis were you referring to where the U.S came to the rescue for the good of all humanity? I must have missed that one.

And are you really going to try and pretend that the Iraqis are grateful that you destroyed their country?

Without some google search,,,the Tsunami in Japan last year. US forces are STILL there trying to help with the mess. And yes, the Iraqis as a whole are happy we destroyed their "country" if that what you want to call it?! Anything more? :fp:

It's easy to forget when we're busy dominating, that countries like Japan had major impact on tech boom too.

They did without a doubt. Never said they didn't. I'm still waiting for the Japanese military to be a world dominating presence at the same time as well though. :corn:

We dont care about your sports.. mainly because you were all so shit at proper sports so you made up your own and then call it WORLD championships, talk about stroking your own boner... we dont care about Snookie ( I literally have no idea who/what/if that is something/someone? ) .. dont care about those weird baby pageants things you have... and your chocolate is just fucking awful.

Honestly...it's comments like these that let me know you do care. Made up our own sports? You do realize that the US in an overall majority could care less about the Olympics which the world deems "proper" sports such as you do and we are still leading in the medal count. I personsally couldn't care less but you do realize that right? And even if we slip to 10th in the medal count...we don't care.

I'll take your responses seriously when you know the difference between could care less and could NOT care less.

    i-could-care-less.JPG

...and it's posts like this that let people know you have nothing better to post. However...I could care less (try googling about the phrase and it's evolution and how it's used in modern society...especially the US).

It's not because Asian cars are "better" than "American" cars. You are pretty much so lost like most of the American people it's ridiculous when it comes to this one simple example. Here we go...follow along...a Toyota Tundra is produced in Texas...a Dodge Ram is produced in Mexico...a Ford F150 is produced in Cananda. Which is the "American" car company? :fp:  You also realize that the Camrys and Accords (the best selling cars in the world) are actually produced by Americans. But those aren't American? :? :fp:  I guess the GM cars produced in China are actually the AMerican cars? :? :fp: It's all free business man! You don't believe it go check the "Monroney" labels on a car at your local lot. By law it will tell you where it's built. Just another freedom we enjoy here.

Camrys and Accords are designed by Japanese companies... I dont care where they are built. If anything it highlights the lack of quality American design and that because they are designed so well they are better than american cars. simple facts.

would that be the car which was a French invention ... or are we talking about Benz here first??? Either way it wasnt an American.

or the train which was invented by James Watt, obviously a Scottish person... although perhaps you were referring to James Murdoch?? He was Scottish also though.

hmmmm i can't verify that but since all your other facts are rather horrific I'll post you a nice one

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-19253273

NBC's coverage of London 2012 was the "most-watched television event in US history", the TV network has announced.

Citing Nielsen ratings figures, NBC said more than 219 million viewers watched the Games on its networks, compared to the 215 million who tuned in for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

The network broadcast some 5,535 hours of Olympic coverage on TV and online.

But it drew criticism for delaying the broadcast of popular events until primetime hours

I hope that bubble you're living in doesnt burst soon... but i could care less (sic)
