Well the Cubs certainly took it to the Sox tonight!

Plus a curtain call in a 3-1 - 7th inning late July game to boot!

    Only at Wrigley!

The bats finally woke up late in that game. It only took 22 innings.

How low do jhey and monteros averages need to go before they get benched?

Give Heyward some credit. He did hit the ball to the outfield twice last night instead of his usual ground balls to 2nd.

03/31/08 thru 07/26/16 Cubs pitchers combined for 12 pitches of 100+ mph.
7/27/16 Aroldis Chapman throws 13 of 'em.

Yeah, with Sale pitching, can't really gamble with having 1/3 of the lineup being automatic outs.
  • darwinstheorydarwinstheory Posts: 6,422
Well...no matter how you slice it, Chris Sale just couldn't cut it tonight against our beloved Cubs.

It's nice to have some stress free 9th innings. Been a long time since I've felt that way.

Coghlan back and hitting leadoff today. What a joke. That bum shouldn't be on a mlb roster. Not sure who got sent down. Rumor is lastella. Will be pissed if it was contreras.

Why has Bryant been batting 2nd and Zobrist clean up? I love Maddon, but sometimes he's a bit too quirky with the lineup.

I don't know why they traded for him in the first place. Dude was batting what? Under .150 in Oakland? And not doing much better since we reacquired him. La Stella's up near .300 and great to have either off the bench or to give someone a day's rest.

Reed Johnson still has my fav Cubs catch in my life. That diving catch he had going head first into the wall at Washington.

I was at that game! Was also at one in Wrigley vs the Yanks where he robbed Cano diving into foul territory. That guy gave 110% on every play!

Nice. I also remember him climbing the wall in Milwaukee robbing Princess Fielder of a grand slam on ESPN Sunday night baseball.
