No way they're giving up Chapman for Soler.

It may be feasible on August 1st. The Yankees are going nowhere. They just have to value what the Nationals (or any other team) offer as being less than Soler.

Going to the game tonight, not overly excited Hammel is starting. Hoping he's not 2nd half Hammel. Also hoping Dexter returns atop the lineup.

I thunk once fowler returns, through cubs will be just fine. Not that he's the heart and soul of the lineup, be he's definitely a spark plug

He is definitely the lynch pin of the lineup this season. Without him we have a platooned outfield, no true leadoff man, and less depth from the bench.

Nice to see a Cubs W. 3 and 0 for my games this year! Anyone else super impressed by Contreras throw on the fly from the lf warning track to montero that unfortunately montero dropped? Unfortunately soler or even worse coghlan will probably force contreras back to aaa when they are healthy. Id much rather contreras stay. Definitely hope he makes playoff roster. He's very versatile.

That was an amazing throw! I rewound it before they even showed a replay.

    Montero is garbage.

My wishful thinking is they promote Soler when healthy, make up something to put montero on the dl and keep contreras.

Chapman to the cubs. They gave up 2 great prospects in torres and mckinney. They also gave up that trash Warren and a no name minor leaguer Rashad crawford

Finally got a guy that can close down games. Rondon in the 8th and chapman in the 9th makes our bull pen solid. No more excuses now boys. Time to get the job done.

I obviously like Chapman at the end of the bullpen but he better be lights out since the Cubs unloaded some good prospects for a half season rental.

Torres and mckinney are good. Crawford and Warren are not.

I agree. Torres and McKinney seem like a hefty price to pay for a few months of Chapman. I won't care if the Cubs win it all though!

    Edwards
    Nathan
    Montgomery
    Strop
    Rondon
    Chapman

Plenty of solid options in the pen now.

Rondon could even be used as bait if the Cubs wanted to recoup the cost of chapman. Obviously they won't get 3 prospects for him, but one prospect isn't asking too much. Rondon is something like 18/21 in save chances with an Era under 2.

But if the pressure wasn't on the cubs to win before, it certainly is now. No excuses now.

Me too, unless it's the Cardinals, Pirates, or reds.
