If they keep playing like they have recently, anything is possible in the playoffs. Though I admit, a 7 game series against the Cards would be a huge mountain to climb. Or even the Dodgers. Imagine having to face Greinke & Kershaw twice each, one of 'em possibly 3 times.

Have to win the one game play-in game first.(Pirates probably).

Still shocked by this team! Wow! Of all years for WGN to say "fuck you" to everyone outside of Northern Illinios. Ugh!

Dumbest fn move they've ever made. No way in hell you can tell me Andromeda, Salem, Manhattan or reruns of some shitty show get them better ratings than the Cubs did. Glad for mlb.tv and the fact they allow multiple logins on 1 account!!

It's because WGN America is changing from a "superstation" to a regular cable network. They can't broadcast Cubs games nationally on a cable network due to MLB rules. This article sums it up pretty well...

Sale look incredible today. We were not going to beat him with the way that he was pitching.

Offense has looked much better during our recent run. Hopefully, getting shut down today does not slow us down.

I am still being cautious about my expectations for the Wild Card this season but it is fun to be in the hunt and playing meaningful games in mid-August.

f*ck WGN.... they were my ticket to seeing them on TV multiple times a year.
Living outside the city, now I am gonna have to purchase a sports package to watch them.

  • Lester
    Staff Ace? Or staff ASS!!

Your ACE is supposed to take the mound and stop the bleeding. Your ACE is supposed to make small, 2 game losing streaks, go away. Instead our ASS, Lester, goes out and gets pounded. And now we have a 3 game losing streak.

I am thinking last night was the 1st "BIG" game of the season for our "ACE" Lester. It is the 3rd week of August, we find ourselves in the playoff picture, and after winning 9 straight we have lost 2 in a row. This was time for Lester to start earning that $155 million contract he signed. Instead Lester shit all over himself.

I would almost rather not make it than have my hopes destroyed like 2007 and 2008.

Lester had been pitching really well lately but looked awful last night.

Outings like that from Lester really concern me when there is the possibility of a 1 game Wildcard playoff in our future (yes, I am getting way ahead of myself). At this point, I am not sure if I would want Lester or Arrietta to start a Wildcard game.

Want to hook a brother up?
Account is under my friends name and has his CC info on file as its under your mlb.com account, sorry. I'd recommend going in with a friend or 2, rest of the season would prob be less than $20 each split.

yeah.... and against the lowly Tigers... I was so amped that I would get to see the game last night.... and by the time I turn it on, it's already 7-0.... ruined my fucking night.

Lester looked pathetic last night. Just pathetic.

I would have to say Arrietta at this point....
saw him pitch last month and he was lights out.
Without question Jake. Lester has been to inconsistent and theres the whole not being able to hold a runner on thing.

My my, how quickly you've turned. Since June 25, Lester has given up in each start 4, 0, 0, 4, 0, 2, 2, 2,2, and 7 earned runs. He had a bad game. EVERYONE has them. I think everyone needs to calm down. Lester is fine.
