For 2 weeks I talked about getting Cubs tickets for todays game. For 2 weeks I checked stubhub every damned day. For 2 weeks!!!
Then I got cheap and said "I am not spending $100 on tickets for a ballgame".
    What happens?

    HE THROWS A NO-HITTER!!!!!

    No-no, lol.
Im such an ass. Kathy and I are going downtown today. We have a room at a nice fancy, schmancy hotel. We are going to enjoy a nice day/night downtown, swimming, shopping, and eating at a fancy schmancy restaurant. I decided that was going to cost me enough, so I passed on Cubs tickets for yesterday.

    FUCK!!!!!

    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

Why would You want to go see them get no hit? I would be pissed. Fuck Cole hamel and the Phillies. They suck. 36 wins and the last 2 against the cubs. Pathetic.

Really? As a baseball fan, you wouldn't want to go see a no-hitter? I would have been dancing down Waveland after the game. Its a once in a lifetime.

If Lester was throwing it. Not if the cubs were being blanked. I'm paying to see them win.

Cubs lose 2 in a row to the Phillies.
Giants win 4 in a row.
As of today, the Cubs are NOT a wildcard team.

I wont be the least bit surprised to see the Cubs finish at .500, or even a game or 2 below .500, when all is said and done.

I've seen no hitters on tv. They are a dime a dozen anymore. When I'm paying to see a game, the last thing I want to see it the cubs bat the minimum amount of times.

If these guys can't hit, they're done. It's ok though. I firmly believe that Rizzo and Bryant will lead this team to the playoffs next year.

I would have been standing up that 9th inning, cheering for that no-no. I would have framed that ticket stub, and talked about the time I saw a no hitter live, for the next 20 years. 1st time the Cubs have been no hit since Koufax, 50 years ago.

I get your point. It is history. But I would still be pissed. I pay to see the cubs win. When I get tickets and drive the 5 hours to Atlanta, those bastards better hit the ball.

I guess if I still lived near Chicago and had the opportunity to get to Wrigley a few times a year, I could feel the way you do speedy. I get to see them once a year and I have to go to Atlanta to do so.

Was lucky enough to see the only Cubs no hitter thrown in my lifetime and it was awesome. Unreal experience. Also lucky enough to see them win a playoff game at Wrigley and call me crazy but I think the nono was better. The tension was insane the last 3 innings. I have the ticket framed in my basement and love talking about the game. I remember a father and young son sitting next to me at the nono and telling the son you will remember this for the rest of your life.

If you can't beat the worst fucking team in baseball, does that automatically make you the worst fucking team in baseball? Unbelievable. A chance to make up some ground and we get rocked by the damn Phillies all weekend. Fuck baseball, when does hockey start??

I've got a great record in atlanta. Something like 9-3. That includes a game one playoff win.
    At Wrigley however, 1-6 maybe...

Since cueto is gone, shields is the next best candidate. I'd rather them not go after hamels.

I agree that Hamels would not be the best choice. I don't trust him and with what the Cubs would have to give up to get him. What do you think about going after Grienke (misspelled) in the off season?

Yeah. it is hard to gauge real value on the older pitchers. the salaries have been crazy, and you don't want to get burned on another Zambrano contract.

I really think shields is who they need to get. They offered him 3 years, 60 mil in the off season. There would be roughly 68 million left to pay if they got him now. And they'd have him for just under 3.5 years.
