Is today the day I've been finally hoping for? Please please let this deal go through. Good riddance Soriano.

    Looks like it went through.

So the Cubs still are paying $18 million of his contract and they only got a low tiered pitcher? Wow, talk about getting bent over! :fp:

I really don't see how this helps the cubs at all. It saves them 6 million? They got nothing in return. Regardless of sorianos defensive liabilities, he's been productive over the past two years hitting. I understand rebuilding, but just giving a player away and paying out most of his remaining contract with nothing in return doesn't seem like the way to do it.

Obviously there weren't to many other offers out there.
Theo had to be thrilled to finally get rid of Soriano.
The guy was a complete bust, for the money we signed him for.

    He averaged 27 HR's and 79 RBI's.
And made a TON of money.

I would have traded him for a box of Cracker Jack.....

Now, if we could have traded him for the Cracker Jack PJ Wrigley poster, that would have been an awesome trade.:lol::lol::lol:
    I lost a bet...

Who else on the cubs averaged that? Plus, the cubs are paying 17 out of his remaining 24million.That's a ton of money. He had more value than what Theo got for him.

I guess I wouldn't feel so bad if it was the Cubs who picked up the 6 million instead of the 17 million. That's some serious bullshit.

Picking up close to 75% of the guys salary just to get rid of him? :fp: :fp:

Pretty bad umping last night. If a pitch is a called strike 1 or 2, if it's in the same spot it should be strike 3.
