I can really appreciate that. Enough of that though...... It's time for some postseason baseball. Friday can't come soon enough. Let's see a pennant, baby! Let's see a world series game at the friendly confines. We're not entitled to it, but we sure as hell deserve it. Going to have 3 generations of my family watching the game together Friday. Go Cubs Go!

Gonna be a tough series vs ny or sf. At least we won't see madbaum or synd till game 3, makes it that more important we hold serve at home.

Im leaning twoards hoping we get ny too. They dont scare me as much as sf. SF has better starting pitching but ny has the better bullpen.

Only 38-28 (.576) vs the East & West divisions this year (19-14 vs each). EVERYONE in the playoffs scares me! But hey, we only need to go 11-8 (.579) in the postseason so the odds are still close. One step at a time, let's get the first 3 W's!

What's there to worry about? We have the best team. That's not really in question. In baseball, that doesn't always equate to winning a world series. That said, I love the demeanor and work ethic of this team. They don't quit. If they run up against a team on fire, well that happens. We have a young enough team, and a front office that top free agents will want to sign with. The culture has changed in Wrigleyville. We're playing the long game here. It's time to enjoy the ride.

The "best" team in baseball has only won it all 4 or 5times in the last 30 years. Cardinals one year, Yankees in 98, Anda couple of other teams I can't remember.

  • No excuses...the time is now. I'm enjoying the moment this fall, not approaching it with pessimism and flashbacks of goat and black cats. If they go all the way, I want to look back and say I truly enjoyed the ride this season.

The pressure won't get to us. We'll just be drinking and watching..... Most from the comfort of our home. And the only Cub with a remote chance of having read this thread won't be playing. - sorry Jason, don't mean to call you out like that - and Theo doesn't lace them up either. So, not a lot of pressure being felt here. Some anticipation, absolutely. And....... Fuck the giants.

I dreamed last night the cubs were down 9-1 against the mets, late innings.
Cubs had all kinds of throwing errors. At one point in my dream, Rizzo threw two balls at once, grossly overthrowing each one.
Maybe I am a little worried.
