she watched a boy who she had just bonded with die in her arms from a bullet that should've hit her...i don't know about you guys, but that'd fuck me up pretty good

I hear you. I don't disagree at all. I was just expecting something along the lines of what the engineers(?) were talking about when they got there.

yeah but going in she was probably expecting that so it wouldn't have been that traumatic...and if she had been raped etc, i don't think it would've worked in terms of the story sorkin is developing

Yeah, I hear you. The second the teacher said that about the blond hair, I knew something bad was going to happen to that kid.
I like the story this year. They couldn't keep going with the actual news week after week. I like seeing how they are investigating this story.
And Charlie may be my favorite character ever. When he pressed his face up against the glass, I lost it.

me too!!!!!!
One thing I'm confused about is when.how exactly the kid was shot. Was it through the window? or while she was carrying him into the bus? Cuz if so what was up with that scene of them reading the book by flashlight? a dream/fantasy?
I really do like this season.
Does that Stillman character (the 3rd wheel protesting reporter dude with the moustache) remind anyone else of Hodor?

Same question! I rewound it and couldn't find when the boy was shot. You hear a single gunshot as she was just about on the bus, but no one reacts as though the little boy was shot. Then the next scene everyone is all calm and happy as she reads him the book on the bus. Then all of a sudden he's been shot in the back? I'm confused.

I will have to watch again but pretty sure he was shot while going out the door on he back.

since we're learning about what happened through maggie's eyes, we're not getting exactly what happened because she doesn't want to remember...that single gunshot when gary was on the ground was what hit daniel although it doesn't look that way...the next shot of maggie reading to daniel on the bus was maggie trying to avoid what actually happened...it took marcia gay harden to get her to confront it
Yeah, Maggie's story was made to show flaws throughout her discussion with the lawyers. She lied to them and she stretched the truth...whether she was honest or not....we don't know.
Her reading Daniel the book on the bus was her imagination, her grief with what happened.
As soon as I saw 'Dad' on Wills phone I knew he was gonna die... :(
I really enjoyed how the whole show took place during 1 'newsroom' show. (Were there flashforwards/flashbacks with Sloan's story?)
I didn't really understand the part where Will freezes on camera and says that one line that I cant remember now... ANyone have an opiion I can steal on that?

he freezes because it was at that moment that he realized his dad was dead...and looking into the camera (realy at mackenzie) he says, "well, i guess it's just us now"
Maybe it's just me, but this season is falling flat in my eyes. Not nearly as good as last year. Although Sloan demolishing her ex was quite possibly the best scene the show has ever had
not only did she knock his teeth out and kicked him in the nads,
she took a cell phone flash photo to post on twitter.
So now Maggies an alcoholic?>
This show is fantastic and I dont understand
why it doesnt get attention such as Boardwalk Empire.

I'm really confused about when Maggie cut her hair. The end of last week's episode showed her chopping her hair off and that seemed like it was right after she got back from Africa, but apparently it wasn't. Obviously they are jumping around this season and the timeline is all over the place, but that just made it more confusing.

Yeah t is difficult enough to follow with the sorkin rapid fire dialog. Now they are jumping around in time too. Love the show but it is difficult to follow at times.

I saw the Inside the Episode they play On Demand and Sorkin said that Will has only 2 "critics" he cared about - his dad and the audience, so he was telling the audience that it was just them and him now.
Spoiler....Episode 6
Just finished tonight's episode - it totally seems obvious on the tape with the General that it was altered, because you can see the skip in the b'ball game in the background. Would have been nice if someone on the red team had noticed that... Really love this show.

I really love how the story was told at the table with the lawyers, and flashes back to what happened in September. Was HIMYM-esque. I hought this episode was the best yet. I don't know why I didn't think about who was sueing ACN before it was revealed that Jerry was fired, but it makes sense now. I love how they pretty much skip all of the election coverage. (I didn't want to relive that again...) And it makes sense as to how the show is going to go onto a 3rd season. Seemingly WIll & Sam was going to get fired, now Lansing wants to gain the audiences trust back = Season 3.
2 episodes left this season 2. What will they contain? Probably more of the lawyer arc explaining how she can prove it wasnt institutional failure? Will will be on air explaining to the audience what "News Night 3.0: Post Genoa" will be about? Almost certainly Don and Sloan get togeher.

I hope the next or last episodes has a scene with the lawyer making a case to a judge if not an actual trial, with the same flash forward/back style they've been using.
i'm interested to see how sorkin concludes this story line...obviously, will, charlie and mac aren't going anywhere and with leona refusing their resignations it seems like they're gonna fight the lawsuit :corn:
hated the leap that Leona won't accept their resignations. last season she wanted Will fired and now is not accepting their resignations?
and what was the end part with the lawyer saying don't accept their resignations? she has basically been trashing everyone every step of the way and now is on their side...huh?
the story of Charlie's source's about his dead son who worked at ACN was pretty shocking. good little twist there.
Don - have become a big fan of his character this year. thought he was kind of a douche in season 1 but his character has gotten way better this year. Liking him a lot more now. Sloane character has grown as well. given her much more depth than last year.

Leona not accepting resignations is a great point that I was confused about at first but then forgot about it.
My prediction is that the lawyer (after finally hearing everyone's story) has found an angle to try to win the lawsuit. Im hoping that she will open up the next episode explaining that they do have a case and that WIll's job is saved.. Cause the only way to continue the show is if they all stay on ACN.
I feel the same way about Don. He has a very unique personality/style of humor/presenting himself that is much better from season 1

i thought something happened to her personally, like she got raped or something.
watching a kid get murdered would cause anybody psyche trauma though.
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
That's what I thought too. And yeah, definitely traumatic, just expecting something along those lines along with possibly more murders.
