    I'm going with Argentina.

But I have my eye on a few underdogs too: Colombia, Chile & Belgium

Brazil will burn if Argentina win. But I could see Argentina winning it. I'm gonna be rocking my Messi Argentina jersey in Amsterdam.

US really needs a win tonight, but Ghana has seemed to have their number when they played in the past

Haha, 2-0 in the 1st half and Pepe is gone. What an idiot. This is perfect. I want Germany to decimate Portugal and Ghana, so that by the time they play us they're already through to the knockout rounds, and can give some guys some rest. Just might allow us to squeak out a positive result that gets us through. But we need to take care of Ghana first which won't be easy!

    Take care of business tonight.

that was a joke of a redcard on Pepe. he went down to insult the player and barely hit him. alot of bad calls in the portugal-germany game.

10 times out of 10, head butting someone whether on purpose or not and no matter how hard it was when a player is on the ground after a play is going to be a red card.

Looked like a well-deserved red card to me. Pepe is a moron.

Because it can change the outcome of a game. Not saying I agree. Played through college and I don't ever remember taking a dive. Liked this article though.

Isn't there a certain NBA team that gets quite a bit of shit for their diving?

I know it can change the game still doesn't change the fact that Soccer players are drama queens and the fact that these Refs make themselves bigger than the Game ...

I hear ya. I love soccer but the flopping is just fucking out of control. Until FIFA decides to start punishing guys for the bullshit flops, it will unfortunately continue to be a big part of the game.

That Times article was a good read. It's also hard for us as hockey fans (I see some of yinz guys in the NHL forums) to witness. There might be some exaggerated in hockey to get a call, but what I find ridiculous is the "MY ANKLE IS FUCKING BROKEN!" type of faces these clowns make when they hit the ground.

Have you ever felt worse about a 1-0 lead?

    Jozy is done

    Bradley is playing terribly

    Dempsey has a broken nose

    Besler is out

If Beasley plays like this against Portugal, Ronaldo is going to score 42 goals

Christ, I was thinking the same thing. I remember watching the US play in World Cups in the 90's and had no hope of any success, and just enjoyed watching us play with the "big boys." Now expectations have changed. I feel like barfing even though we're ahead. 90 minutes can get here quickly enough.

    Yep.

Something I never thought I would say. Is it possible that jones and beckerman have been the best two players on the field?
  • jeffbrjeffbr Posts: 7,177
I agree, and it is very strange. Jones and Beckerman just got a mention for their work rate. They really are on it. I sure wish I had confidence in the rest of the guys right now. Bradley has really been absent and he's supposed to be the general. I hope he picks his game up. We're going to need to be a lot sharper against Portugal. 10 more minutes until I can start breathing again.
