    Fantastic!

I am super stoked for all of you who are going to see NY and Crazy Horse.  Admittedly a bit envious, lol, but really happy for you all!

It’s good, but I honestly can’t remember the last time I listened to it. Might dig it out this week sometime.

Neil held another Zoom call for NYA Patrons today. It was 3am Australia time so I missed it, however Robert on FB has posted a summary:

° Neil has rediscovered a couple of unreleased verses from Cortez The Killer and he is working on putting them back into the song to debut on the forthcoming tour.

° Neil says there will be an acoustic “portion” at the forthcoming Crazy Horse shows. He did not say “set”.

° Video of the forthcoming shows? No direct answer but Daryl Hannah is just finishing the Before & After film. It is not just film of the performance itself. “There’s.. a lot of time that’s not on stage.” It may see an initial theatre release, perhaps as a double feature with Harvest Time.

° Neil’s “original” amp tech is refurbishing his Fender Special Deluxe amp with a whole set of “the right” new tubes for the tour.

° LincVolt has completed recent testing and he may take it with him on the tour in the back of the ‘gym bus.’

° About the setlist for the forthcoming tour: “The songs that the Horse plays are so simple that you can go almost anywhere with them… I think we are going to try… I’m The Ocean… We should be able to jam for a long time on all of that stuff.” (Neil implied it would be new for the Horse but he has actually done it quite a few times already with the Horse, in May/July 1997.)

° Neil was obviously concerned that Graham Nash has now contracted Covid for the fourth time apparently so he continues to plan outdoor shows only.

° The forthcoming live CSNY double album from the September 1969 shows at the Fillmore East has already reached the final acetate stage – Neil hated the digital version he got from Rhino. It includes a killer “18 minute” version of Down By The River “maybe the best DBR ever… Stills  is just smokin’ it… and I think I might have already smoked it when we started off.”

° Archives Vol. 4 will be the last in the box set series and will cover 30 years or so. (Neil seems to think Vol. 3 covers 30 years too though! It covers less than 15.) He and Niko have begun mixing Vol. 4.

° Neil will be at Farm Aid this year.

° Laser treatment improved the arthritis in Neil’s wrist so much that he said of his performance on Fu##in’ Up: “I was free, I didn’t have the pain… if you listen… you can hear the freedom… everything opened up.”

° Glastonbury 2009 any chance? Neil says he’ll listen to it.

° He plans eventually to release the recent Roxy shows on audio and video, but has so much going on that it won’t be happening soon.

° Possibility of doing a new Visit to the Archives film? John O’Neill seemed reasonably keen.

° No specific plans for a European tour yet. He’d like to get to Australia particularly.

° Neil announced a new Crazy Horse date at the Hollywood Bowl on September 29 with presale starting for NYA members imminently. (The official announcement has since arrived.)

° Possible interest in releasing the Deer Creek show from 1992. It was “pretty good and it’s got a good film with it.”

° Neil recommended his Hugo TT2 as a DAC unit for a home sound system. (Note from me: Costs over 5,000$ folks!)

° Will there be more TLCs? “Yeah, there will be… maybe we’ll put Deer Creek on the Timeline.”

° Asked if he would release a consumer version of the Whizzer, he said “Absolutely not…!”

    Thanks for that info, @goldrush.

Man, I just checked tour schedule and I leave for PJ, out West the Night they play right down the street from where Live.

I could go see them the night before but it's a 3 hour drive, one-way. I'm considering it as we never know: COULD be the last chance to see NY with CH.

It's a mixed bag for me, but some of the cuts are amazing.  "Slip Away" in particular is amazing.  I listen to that one with eyes closed and it sends me to some rather amazing places at times (sans drugs).

You should consider it, especially with airfare that low. Ohana is a blast and the Dana Point area is great. I think it is one of the nicer beach areas in California. I grew up near Santa Cruz and would go back to visit Dana Point over Santa Cruz in a heartbeat.

California is a beautiful state! Love San Diego, San Francisco, and the PCH and Big Sur are gorgeous.

But yeah, airfare may preclude me from this.

Airfare is not the biggest expense with Ohana, unfortunately.  I'd go back for this in a second if it was.
