You know, I saw a hunt on Outdoor Channel years ago, I believe it was Jim Shockey. He was hunting for elephant on some natives land in Africa and once he shot it, he kept the "trophy" and gave all of the tribe the elephant meat. It fed them for weeks. That doesn't sound so bad to me.

jim shockey (whoever that is) is a piece of trash...period. he isn't a hungry native of africa. he wants to murder a great beast for the head. he probably never even tasted the meat himself. what a terrible person that guy is.

Please!!!!! I just had this horrible image etched in my brain - must go try and scrub it out with bleach or some other type of corrosive material!

But good question... would I eat human? Would I kill another human to eat it or wait for it to die (like those guys stuck in the Andes after the plane crash). That I do not know. I can't see myself doing so but I guess that is one extreme situation....

like the guy being discussed currently on here who shoots an elephant, rips the head off and the natives eat for weeks.

it was not a necessity for whoever that guy with the rifle is, it wasn't necessity.

Africa's Addio people seem to get by without the need for a trophy hunter's rifle. if you folks are sensitive to blood and the killing of animals by way of primal hunting techniques such as spear throwing do not watch this clip. however, it is educational as to how one ted nugent may want to try his luck at hunting great beasts w/ spears like true natives of Africa do.

Here is an article. It's nice that they had to kill an endangered leopard.

you keep saying change the law. how about we actually enforce the ones that we have, since clearly that is the problem with this issue. the illegal hunting is not controlled because it is impossible to prevent it. if people like nugent want to go out and shoot an elephant or a bear, he is going to go out and shoot an elephant, a bear, or both. and how can you stop him from breaking the law if he chooses to do it?.

Ted shoots legally thats why he got caught once it's questionable and then dnr rule violations but
there are poachers and hunters hate these guys
the laws can be enforced and are but stiffer penalties for poachers that are caught would help more awareness to the problem would help maybe Ted will help with that
I mean the average person who's not a hunter doesn't think about this stuff
Teds trouble gets people talking good for the balance good for awareness
contact your congressmen support wildlife organizations change has come in the last 40 years
more will if everyone hunters included work at stopping illegal poachers
but the right to hunt will remain and laws should protect the species so they remain
this the balance if there is something somebody doesn't like like the canned hunts just try to change it
it beats griping on a forum

P.S. I don't think most people object to hunting as a means to provide food. It's the part about killing to kill and just taking the horns or tusks is what people find repulsive.

I agree on both counts and I find it repulsive for someone to eat meat then claim they are not a killer

P.S. most legal trophy hunters don't do that they use the animal and provide the food
and honor the animal with display
