Ted Nugent booted from Fort Knox concert line up

    http://www.tennessean.com/article/20120 ... nav%7Chead

Fort Knox, KY - The artist lineup for the Fort Knox annual summer concert scheduled for June 23 no longer includes right-wing rocker Ted Nugent.

Co-headliners REO Speedwagon and Styx remain scheduled to perform. However, after learning of Nugent's recent public comments about the president of the United States, Fort Knox leadership decided to cancel his performance on the installation, according to a report by the Courier Journal in Louisville, Ky.

Army Entertainment and the Fort Knox Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation remain committed to carrying out the June 23 concert, and the possibility exists that a replacement will be selected.

Nugent was scheduled to be the concert’s opening act.

asked with protecting the president, Secret Service personnel decided they needed to talk to Nugent, 63, after his remarks at last weekend's NRA convention in St. Louis in which the longtime gun-rights and hunting activist and conservative said, "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year."

In a statement on his website Thursday, Nugent said he met with "two fine, professional Secret Service agents" in Oklahoma -- he's playing Thursday in Ardmore -- and called it a "good, solid, professional meeting concluding that I have never made any threats of violence towards anyone. The meeting could not have gone better."

the young turks on nugent shitting & pissing himself for a week to avoid vietnam
Oh I had many older friends doing the same, my age just missed it all
then those who went and never returned
and some I know who came back not the same
messed in the head or addicted to drugs

my boyfriend 5 years older than I got out on the flat foot excuse :?
at least that was what he told me.

The draft was a very scary thing ...
yank someone from their country and forcibly send them to a hell hole
    to kill or be killed

craziness ... how was that even legal?

    much much different than choosing
true it is a same and a screwy deal. but ya don't scream up and down about what would have happened if one was there, if one was present. boy o boy if i was in nam i woulda killed everyone in my path....

that aint cool to say and it makes the person look like a large idiot. ted nugent would not have done anything super-hero like nor would he have been drug free over there. ted nugent would have been a heroin addicted soldier most probably.

he is not as brave as he wants us folks to believe he is. others got drafted and went to war. ted didn't. which is fine (not really but whatever) just don't spout off about being a secret rambo badass who makes vietnam lucky he didn't show up.
I think I'm 15 years older than you and Ted is 7 years older than me, tales certainly change
as do our heads over the decades. My idea of who exactly I was 40 years ago,
well truthfully I can't recall  I might tell you I could dance like no ones business
and it might not be spot on.

I really think he thinks he would have been badass and would be very much so now
if he was having to fight the good fight.

I don't stick up for him, I don't know much about him, never said I liked him,
I just try to see him without bias. He has a huge ego and a character to match.
He's done some good and I'm sure some not so good
    as we all have.

I think you are right though Chad when he does this it devalues those who went
and coped, it is insensitive to those who had to be badass to survive.
Those who carry the scars of war for a lifetime and wish they didn't have to.

i have a bit of a ego myself. i myself think up some pretty hugely outrageous things to do and say but i don't act on 3/4 of the stuff i could act on. i believe in ted's case, he thinks or doesn't think stuff up and he acts on it no matter what.

pooping and pissing yourself and living in your very own foulness to avoid being drafted is fine just don't tell others if you'd have severed all hell would have broken loose. truth is that is all talk. ted shoots guns and bows very well. good for him for being a good hunter. he isn't a soldier, he isn't a veteran, he isn't quiet when he should be, he isn't cute in his statements, he is a redneck cocksucker, and mostly he is afraid.

my question to ted is this... have you ever been in a fist fight? have you ever been beat down and do you cry and bleed and have you ever abused a women?

i personally think ted is all talk. but he isn't stupid. and he isn't lazy. those are things i like in a person; intellect and ambition. ted has achieved his dream/goal. now just stop screaming about killing everything in your path, ya dick.

From my experience... people who talk big shit are typically bullshitting liars. Ted is a real tough guy when he has the gun... and the wolf he's aiming at doesn't. Put an AK-47 in the hands of a North Vietnamese soldier and drop ol' Ted off in their jungle... my bet... he ain't talking so tough any more. It's a lot easier when the animals that shoot back.
It's the quiet ones that usually end up being some fucking ass-kicking bad-asses (case in point, check out top notch fighter pilots, Marine Recon, Army Rangers, etc... You won't hear them boasting about how tough they are).
    ...
The thing that I need to have explained to me is this... how does a draft dodging, child abandoning, deadbeat dad/statutory rapist (who had the parents of a 17 year old girl sign him over as her legal guardian) become a darling of the Conservatives?
    Someone, please, clue me in.

I'm not a conservative so can't speak from that side of the fence but I think in this case
Ted represents the good fight to keep our rights per our founding fathers and the constitution.
Being a board member for the NRA I would think is a big part of his popularity and like
thinking of other conservatives as far as the lefts agenda.

Draft dodging 40 years ago really unimportant to most people, I would think.
Owing some small amount in back child support which has been paid ... whatever
he has actively raised many children over a lifetime and grandchildren.
Marrying a 17 year old... musicians have done worse and remained popular
and this was in 1978 and the Hawaiian law made that necessary.... seems a stretch to
base a negative opinion for this.

All these things you list are from decades ago and pretty trivial.

I wonder on the other hand why the left hates him
I guess it boils down to just the same old red vs blue again.

For me being a purple I remain unbiased and understand why the right would enjoy
him as a spokesperson most especially now.

    What's all the ruckus

i will admit to seeing some young women and thinking to myself, wow, she is fine. she may be 17 or 18 years old but god dammit she sure seems to me that she is 20 something.

some young women are built like nobodies frickin business. my math tutor in college (well, one of my math tutors) was and is a genius and took college courses whilst attending high school. when i met her she was 17 years old and sure as hell resembled a 20 something. she is athletic and a genius and beyond gorgeous.

once i found out she was still a girl i was soo bummed. but remained her friend and tutor student. actually, she herself was saddened when she revealed to me her age. she really wanted to be older so i could kiss her. true fact as i read her eyes and her mind and body language.

ted's wife beds down with a bear and wolf killer. ted's wife could actually be sleeping with a elephant killer. i know he shoots zebra.

ted is a fuckhead. i am not impressed with his wife either. her choice in a man is a terrible one. maybe she enjoys his political beliefs because killing zebra, bear, and wolves is outrageously ignorant.

I also agree, there are a lot of amazingly beautiful women that are 17 going on 27... BUT, your moral compass tells you there is something wrong with banging her... if you are close to 30.
You have your morals clearly defined to you and you KNOW it just ain't right. You don't pull sleazy shit to justify your lust. It is because you possess something called 'character' which translates into good judgement.
    ...
Personally... I think people should be held accountable for their past actions... including their poor judgement calls. I don't believe in making excuses for them... just as I don't make excuse for me on my past mistakes. I believe in personal responsibility and that I should be held accountable for my poor judgement calls.

Sometimes men of thirty fall in love with their ladies of seventeen.
Sometimes they marry and stay together a lifetime.
In Teds case they were together over a decade with 2 children I believe.
Who are we to judge love and that!

Men are far less mature at that age than women often a decades difference in age
    is just about perfect.

Oh and my father was 13 years elder my mother, they were together 40+ years.

It seems people are really stretching trying to find fault with old Ted.

I do disagree with others requiring accountability for what people
have done, most especially the choices they make in their youth.
It is the height of arrogance and snobbery to pass judgment like that.
To think one even knows the other so intimately to judge the mistakes of another ... :?
for me that is the height of mistakes.... lacking compassion.
Everyone makes mistakes and learns and grows.
