i like it ... nice shot across the bow of the supposed party of "honesty and transparency" ...
Ya, me too. Seems to have taken the CONS way off guard.
i think trudeau to be too raw and inexperienced and that he will get smoked in the election debates but for the first time today ... i can actually see him winning ...
as for the next election I think we'll be in minority government again ... I don't see the ndp doing as well in Quebec and I see the Bloc making a little bit of comeback and the liberals doing much better in Quebec. Just a matter of is it going to be con or lib minority.

Maybe. I think this move will speak to a lot of voters. He still won't get my vote, but I like that he has shown leadership prowess in this situation. I don't think it will be a popular move with the insiders of his own party.

sorry I may of missed it. But what would it take for him to get your vote?

for me ... a rejection of keystone; a better grasp of the issues; and a complete overhaul of the old school liberals ... soo - basically never ... haha

Same here. He would have to essentially change parties. Not that I'm married to any party, but it would take a lot of change for me to vote Liberal. Change which Trudeau seems to have no interest in making.

hmmm, interesting. - I was reading some of his foreign policy notes, I'm far from impressed with him myself. So add that to what you've said above.
guess he's not getting my vote. Well, not just yet anyway.
well ... on second thought it only took the political analyst about 30 minutes to find holes in his strategy.
what holes?
basically they are still senators and are still liberals ... so which way do you think they'll vote, they'll still tow the party line. But it should never of matter what party a senator is affilited with anyways ... once named you're a senator for life so you should always be able to vote your conscience. Either way the only solution except able to me is a national referendum with 2 questions 1) do you want an elected senate 2) abolish the senate ... why is it so hard for the government to let the people decide? Oh ... I almost forget the politicians think they know whats best.

Analyst or talking head for another party? I stand back and look at it and only see positives for you and me.
No ... the analyst, many felt he's just trying to stay one step ahead of the auditor general report on the spending scandals by distancing himself, and as they've said they are still senators who are still liberal.

one of problems about abolishing the senate is the fact that it would require a constitutional change which is obviously a long a difficult process ... i would much rather - the remove caucuses in the senate and have everyone sit as an independent ... and also set term limits ... 8 years max ... you're out ... no matter what ...
Just abolish it ... First have a referendum, if the people say abolish, then start the process. But ask the people what they want, that not to difficult ... Attach the referendum to the 2015 election ... Heavon forbid the fucking politicians ever asked the taxpayer his or her wishes. What Trudeau did was politics nothing more nothing less. As for sitting as independents they form groups anyways and beside they in for life they should be able to vote their conscious ... Fucking their fucking politicians ... They have no soul, how they look themselves in the mirror is beyond me.

don't ever lose that hate you got going on ... hahahahahaha ...
my only problem with abolishing the senate is then what checks and balance do we have if some party has a majority gov't and putting through ridiculous legislation? ....
for me they need to be independent and there needs to be term limits
There was a side of Jim Flaherty that maybe I didn't see ... but the statements and interviews of people who worked with him no matter their political affiliation was quite unreal.

Maybe he was sicker than he let on ... Yes sad for his family.
i think he suffered a side effect for the the medication he was on ... it supposedly causes high bp ...
I read about all the side effects the medicine he was on ... yuck! To bad their government is against medicinal marijuana, its suppose to help with auto-immune disease ...
