no, but I remember one kid bringing his for 'show and tell' and instead of the story tape, he had put n an Anthrax tape...it was really funny
anybody go roller skating on the street or at the rink? I hated the stupid 'snowball' skate time.
I had a bunch of these silly things too...
My husband has a large scar on his head from being hit by a teddy bear. Not a Teddy Ruxpin but a wind up.
I would go roller skating every friday and Saturday nights at a rink but we didn't have anything called snowball skate.“This is a ah another request fulfillment. If none of the other of you like it at least one guy does. Actually it’s a girl, she’s right back there.”

Hehe funny to see those necklace/mini charm things...found a bunch in a box my dad brought over a while back of crap my stepmom was cleaning out of my room. Had about three of those and hung them on my wall.
Not sure if this was mentioned but ladies who else took turns with their friends checking out "Are you there God, it's me Margaret" from the school library??? I was so freaking out about this belt contraption I would have to wear when aunt flo showed up :oops:0 -

Slightly embarrassed to say I still have mine. My grandmother kept them in a box all those years. Found them last summer.“This is a ah another request fulfillment. If none of the other of you like it at least one guy does. Actually it’s a girl, she’s right back there.”

ack...the 'snowball' was when they would yell over the speakers "IIIiiiiiiittttt's SNOWBALL TIME! Boys line up on one side and girls line up on the other" Then they would turn on the disco ball and the blue lights and play slow music...Journey or something probably. Then the boys would skate over to the girls and pick out a girl to skate with, for one song, then the DJ would say 'switch partners!' and give the guys a few minutes to pick out another girl, and then play another song. They'd do this for 3 songs. Keep in mind these were all elementary aged kids. How embarrassing! The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

Say that to a teen today and they'll say *what you talkin bout!*
Peace
Oh and back then iwasn't unusual to flash a PEACE sign you know with the two fingers.
I used to drive my dad's Mustang II hatchback (note, this was NOT the cool Mustang) that had an 8 track. Car looked just like this one:
That wasn't nearly as cool as my car though. The Pinto Wagon w/ Wood Paneling. Looked like this (but mine was a brownish/orange color, w/ wood paneling:
And of course, seatbelts were optional, and you could ride in the bed of a pickup truck.
Ok Ok my very first car was a light blue 1974 Pinto you know the one where if it was hit in the rear it would blow up so they say. I bought it for $400 cash, the drivers seat eventually broke and i held it up with a milk crate. I got 3 of my best years out of Betsy while in college...she eventually died by the highway in Hampton VA i said goodbye and abandoned her. :(
I was king with car...you had a car in school you were bad to the bone with the ladies.
Just like this one^^^^^but with a lot more dents. No 8 track, no cassettes just a radio.

We opened our car windows when it became too hot inside and we sang instead of flipping through thousands of radio channels (there was not even a radio in the car). We squeezed a whole family of five people into tiny cars to go on summer vacation. And our Dads really didn't need to pay a fortune or be scientists to fix their cars.
Oh my god, I love all these car pictures! When I was a child, our car looked like this:

Our future with music players in cars.....
http://www.aliberalslibretto.com/2012/0 ... layer.htmlCD players in cars look set to go the same way as the dodo bird, according to a report in industry trade publication Automotive News.
With content and computing power migrating to smartphones, which can now channel music, navigation and other applications to relatively simple and low-cost onboard infotainment systems, CD players are becoming increasingly irrelevant in cars, the report says.
Automakers also want to get rid of optical drives -- that is, CD or DVD players -- because they are expensive and appeal mainly to older motorists, according to the report.
Indeed, the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic RS, which debuted this week at the Detroit auto show and will go on sale in the United States this summer features an optional MyLink infotainment system that lets motorists make hands-free phone calls, listen to MP3 music and get route guidance by linking their smartphones to the vehicle's infotainment system. But no CD player, Automotive News said.

Do you remember how hard they were to get when they first came out? It was crazy. I won one because I sold the most hand soap and thermometers in my school district:?

I had possibly the most ugly Cabbage doll I had ever seen but I loved her. I feel sorry for kids these days too, things were more simple then. I hate that kids are exposed to things way beyond their years now, especially little girls. It's sad.

I remember line and partner skates but nothing like you mention... unless i have blocked such things out
We could only request songs to be played....but look out when they did!
Ahh I want to go skating now but I think there are only rollerblades in my garage.... dont think it would end well anyway “This is a ah another request fulfillment. If none of the other of you like it at least one guy does. Actually it’s a girl, she’s right back there.”
