I went to Citi on the pre-sale on Monday for both Virginia shows and the tickets SUCKED! They were in the back of the pavilion. Last year I was able to grab 6 GA's. This year not only were there no GA's, but the limit was 2 for GA, 4 for reserved. I didn't even do it. I'll wait until right before the show to see if things open up. Very disappointing.

Went on right at 10, pulled crap seats once, then was either shut out completely or kept pulling lawn. Had my bf try also so we could increase the chances of getting decent seats, he only got crap seats too. Pulled the trigger, though--at least they are in the pavilion. I miss my friends Warehouse tickets! Too bad we all live in different states now. Excited nonetheless to see DMB again, though!

    It's been a while!!

If anyone else was watching their Legends On Letterman stream (they played just over an hour), the band played a new song! Called "Black and Blue Bird" (blue bird? bluebird? we'll see), and I really dug it! Mellow, mid-tempo, but still had a little groove. Enjoyed the lyrics too! Always stoked to hear the band is working on new stuff.

Haven't listened to them since Busted Stuff which is their best. Tried out their last few albums at least once on Spotify recently, though. Beauford is one of the best living drummers ever.

  • Great band. Just a cool and unique sound that has a big place in my world.

Thanks for black and bluebird, Sam.

Agree about Busted Stuff. Fantastic album. And it goes without saying IMO that Carter is an absolute freak of nature!! I spend most of the show watching him. Got tickets to both Canadian dates this summer and I can't wait!!!

Easily the best part of the PNC show--20 minute Cortez that kept me glued to the stage for every single second. Freaking incredible! Other than that, The Stone & Typical acoustic were highlights.

Had a wonderful time at the 2 shows (PNC, Hartford) I attended so far. Also had a very pleasant experience on the lawn in Hartford, which was a miracle in and of itself haha! Highlights of that show were Black and Blue Bird, a killer 15 minute Crush, and an incredible 4 horn Jimi Thing. Always a highlight of my summer. I don't think there's a band that makes me as happy when I see them live (I view DMB as more happy, but PJ as more cathartic, if that makes sense!). Can't wait for DTE in 12 days!

Have a blast at the Camden shows and report back!

  • Saw them in Vancouver last night. Seeing them this weekend at the Gorge.

I see them and I feel great about my life. Nothing replaces live music and especially live music with outstanding musicians that play outstanding music.

Not to mention the fact they work hard. I see them every year.

Would be willing to sell my tour shirt from this year (annual shirt with all the tour dates) if anyone is interested. It's a unisex medium but runs a little small. Probably won't really wear it, so if anyone wants, I'll sell it for what I paid and cover shipping. I can send pictures if anyone is interested.

So well said. When I see them, no matter what shit is going on in my life, everything is OK and I am truly happy during those couple of hours. DMB just has that effect! So fortunate I get to see them multiple times each year. Have a blast at the Gorge! That weekend is bucket list for me. I hope someday I get to attend a weekend!

Hard to believe it was his first show in Vancouver in over a decade.

I hope you get to go sometime! We bring people with us each time and every 'new' person walks up the hill after the entrance, views the Gorge, and says, "Holy shit."

I feel spoiled- this is the 6th year in a row for me: it marks the end of summer- kind of like a celebration. We will never not go.

You're close. I really want to encourage you to go- even for two days.

I'm glad you dove in! Once you take the plunge... you're in! Unreal musicians eh? And not the slightest bit of pretentious. Just good guys playing good music.

    Awesome band.

  • One of my best friends is headed to the Gorge for his second DMB show there....I'm not a fan but have considered going anyway, just to see what all the fuss is about. I was at the PJ 06 Gorge shows and need to see more shows there to erase the impression I have of the place as the sixth ring of hell, but with good scenery. Maybe next year.
  • Vancouver was my 1st DMB show. What a pleasant experience! Loved the musicianship of the band, and it's great to see them on stage having such a great time! I can't wait to see them again (can't do the Gorge this year)

How cool, Norm! Especially jealous of Captain w/ Herbie...I'm still waiting on that song, it's one of my favorites. And sounds like he made the Mercy outro interesting, which would be very welcome by me  But looks like a great set overall, glad you enjoyed!

They are relentless. Gotta give them credit. I hope the setlists get mixed up a bit. Too much from the last three albums. I don't want to hear squirm as a an encore, or stolen away.

Didn't even see them last year, and didn't regret it. I don't miss stale setlists.
