Hit up the Clarkston, MI show a few days ago, another great show. This tour has been something else! Had lawn seats but my bf and I ended up finding Warehouse pavilion seats on stubhub for $60...lucky us! Typical Situation and Little Red Bird (forgot about that song!) acoustic were highlights, and So Right opening>The Stone, Raven, and Granny were electric highlights! Hoping for a winter tour this year that hits at least some Midwest cities!

Nice poster. What did you think about the show? I didn't like teh July 4 setlist. The 5th looked much better. Lots of hate for the lovely ladies on antsmarching.org

Yeah, Facebook is full of hate for night 1. I thought both shows looked good. Wasn't at either but the #2sets thing is just such a fun way to spend a summer night.

Yeah it played that promo like 5 times before I finally realized that it started... Finally got it after awhile, I forget which song. And then I couldn't get it to come back on after the encore break so I gave up..

I was going to add that in my email to you. She is awesome. She did a fleetwood Mac cover (the chain) and a Cash cover (Folsom) that were unreal.

Her stuff was pretty good too. I was overly impressed and am generally slow to endorse.

It's a happy new year for me cause DMB 2 Sets is back for 2015!!!
    dmbnews.net/2015/01/dave-matthews-band-2015-tour-news-dmb2sets-returns.html
"The Dave Matthews Band 2015 tour will again utilize the two-set format that debuted in 2014.

DMB announced the news in a New Year’s Day email to Warehouse members. The email featured a picture of the band performing live with the message “DMB2SETS 2015.” The announcement of Dave Matthews Band 2015 tour dates is “coming soon,” the email also said.

In 2014, DMB2sets included an acoustic set, typically consisting of eight songs, plus an electric set of about 15 songs. There were no opening acts.

Before the Dave Matthews Band 2015 tour begins, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds will play two concerts in Oakland, California on Jan. 16 and 17. DMB will also headline the Vive Latino 2015 festival in Mexico City on March 15."

I thought 2Sets was a really great change of pace, and totally made for a terrific and unique show experience. Hope you can catch them this time around!

I really liked the two sets. They played a lot of old songs acoustically and then had a lively electric set. This was VA Beach. I will definitely go this year. I was excited to get the email saying they were doing it again.
My 12 year old son caught a drumstick. We were about 10 rows deep on the floor and Carter pointed at him (on my shoulders) and whipped it. He snatched it out of the air. Everyone in the pit was high fiving him. Great moment.

Wooo! wish I could hit more than just one date (that's what happens when you move from New York to the Midwest!) but super pumped for the Clarkston date

ATTN THOSE WAREHOUSE MEMBERS GOING TO CLARKSTON: if you plan on putting in for the lottery for Michigan, please PM me. I have a question.

  • Went to the Dave & Tim show on Friday in Oakland. It was an amazing show that was being filmed. Hopefully they release the video & audio sometime soon. Here is a picture of the set list & poster from the show.

I want to see one of their shows sometime. The cds of their concerts are my favorite Dave Matthews cds. I like them better than the full band discs!!

I'm sure it was excellent, but I don't love that setlist. Maybe it's sacrilegious but I think that sometimes Dave is a little tone deaf on the way he puts a set together. Sometimes he'll string together 3-4 slow songs in a row which kills the flow of the show. And it's different than when PJ does it since his songs are so much longer. Then his encore will be something like Belly Belly Nice and The Space Between, or other odd selections. Those songs are fine, and I don't complain if they are song #3, but you don't want to go out like that.

Anyway, I'll make at least two shows this year like every year, but I think he needs to shake things up a bit to keep the energy flowing during the show. Go back to the way he did sets from 2000-2005. IMO.

Jealous, perfectlefts- D&T must've been a terrific experience! I wish they toured more, it's probably #1 on my Shows I Have To See list!

And mrussel1, I think certain songs are the culprit for me when it comes to killing the set, not the set in general. During 2013 when Mercy>Out Of My Hands was a thing, that just completely lost the crowd. If Only did the same--gorgeous song, but the outro just went on wayyy too long. Or even when certain jams are too close together in the set (say, for example Seek Up and Proudest Monkey), it can sometimes take the wind out of the sails. But all in all, I'm still stoked to see DMB take the stage every time I attend a show!

Also last hopes for this? :)
