At the end of the day people are entitled to their views .... But many object to them
Being rammed down their throats ....
It's a Shame people can't live as Pandora suggests we should. It's utopian I know but the world would be a better place.
As a matter of interest.... Prince you seem pretty vocal on the gay theme - and don't get me wrong I understand why, but where do you stand on mass gay pride marches?0 -
I think these people do enough advertising already without knocking on my door.0 -

That's always such a loaded question because what many people think of when they hear the term "Gay Pride Marches" isn't really the reality of what a "Gay Pride March" actually is.
What the mainstream news media shows on TV and in the news - even the supposedly more liberal/gay positive news agencies - is seldom indicative of what actually goes on.
I remember one year here in Los Angeles, my motorcycle club lead the parade. Many reporters came to take pictures and were very let down to see that we were all a pretty average-looking bunch. No chaps worn without underwear, no drag queens, no makeup. Nobody covered in leather with spikes and studs. One reporter actually tried to put a drag queen on my motorcycle with me and I flatly told him that no... I wasn't going to pose for a picture that he would use to distort what we were all about.
We lead the parade but when the news did their stories on it, not a single station or newspaper mentioned us at all. Most, if you can believe this, claimed the parade had been lead by a "lesbian motorcycle gang called Dykes on Bikes." It was accompanied by photographs of bare-chested women in leather and pierced nipples (who weren't actually at the parade).
And for those of you who don't know, Dykes on Bikes isn't a "motorcycle gang" and it's not even really an official club or group, it's just the name that's traditionally given to the group of women organized to ride at the front of pride parades... they don't do anything other than that. It's not a real club. They don't have any other gatherings other than that one day every year.
So although pride parades are a blast and a lot of fun, we've come to accept that it's going to mean that we're going to be made fun of and be represented by the most freaky, weird and cringe-worthy pictures they can find, even if they have to find them in stock pictures taken 2 years before.0 -

the response they receive should not be hate
Why not?
Do you also think that we should be nice to members of the Ku Klux Klan because their beliefs make them lynch people?the response could be to understand those of differing views
and embrace them for just that different
not wrong or right
Sorry. No.
Wrong.
Not right.
I will not embrace someone who doesn't even allow me the respect to allow me to live on my own terms. Thanks.
that can not be compared to those who are not in favor of gay marriage
as being a legal union in our society. Not a good comparison.
The people who believe that homosexuality is immoral behavior
and therefore can not accept it as an example for children,
are following their core beliefs.
But we see many people, the majority of people, who are disagreeing,
this through understanding and love as I mentioned before...
here is where we see unity and change...
not through hate and disrespect that perpetuates more.
You don't respect me and others in general ... you use language to let this be known
should I in turn not respect you and your right to live your life as you wish?
If I behaved as you we would have our answer.
I support gay marriage ... I don't support your lack of respect
for people. You wield this disrespect and hate at every turn
which makes you no different then those you oppose.0 -
When they come knocking at my door, I let them do their basic intro then just let them know that I'm happy they believe in what they believe in, but I don't believe in what they are saying... sorry, but that is the fact. And when they offer up those pamphlets, I tell them, "You know... I'm just going to drop this straight into the recycling bin, right?"
...
And how come they are never cute gals? Why are they always dudes or old ladies?

Maybe someone's image of Utopia is hot cars with nude chicks with big boobs spread eagle on the front of them and round the clock free shots of whiskey from a toll booth like dispenser every 5 miles on the highway. Thats why its not up to you to judge.0 -

He could start at the beginning, the one place people continuously use as an example and ask the following question.
If Eve was created to procreate, why was it that Eve never had any children in the Garden of Eden – the one place where God was everything and everything was supposedly good and right?SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.0 -

i want gay men and women to go door to door spreading their beliefs. do you honestly believe these men and women would not get beat the fuck up? it is not a horrible thing to say to the door to door good-word spreaders that they can go get fucked someplace...get the hell off my property. this is comedy, folks. that's how i see it.
enter someone's personal space you are taking matters into your own hands. the home owner need not be polite to the unwanted guests....in this case, pains in the ass.
i find it hysterical when someone tells the traveling door to door mormons or whatever religion to go get fucked or to get bent someplace.
then again, some people are nicer than others and ask them to leave nicely. others invited them in for a chat. this chat may include comedy at the traveling mormons' expense.
the traveling door to door gay word spreaders are welcomed into my home quicker than the bullshit traveling mormons are. that's a fact.
what a way to take the wind out of someone's day...knock knock, here we are to preach the bible to you in your own personal space. i am surprised these bible thumpers are not shot more often than they are. are they ever shot at?Post edited by chadwick onfor poetry through the ceiling. There were a bunch of evangelicals protesting abortion outside of the pearljam show in Fargo 2003. When they tried to start talking to my girlfriend and I, I told them they didn't have to worry about us because my girlfriend swallowsThen I politely told them to go fuck themselves........

I know! I know!
Because Adam didn't get a boner til he realized Eve was naked... and had a tasty vagina.
...
My question is... WHY was the fucking Tree of the Fruit of Knowledge planted in Eden? If it is forbidden... and God could create the Universe... then, why not put the damn tree somewhere in the Andromeda galaxy?Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Really.
Well, here's a member of Focus on the Family calling for the arrest of Dan Savage because he's tried to stop gay teenagers from killing themselves.
And here's a link to the Uganda "Kill The Gays" bill supported by members of Focus on the Family that would make simply being gay or knowing someone was without turning them in punishable by death.
And maybe you can tell us what you think about "Kill The Gay" being written on this lesbian couple's house recently by a Home Owner's Association that wants them out.
And I'm just getting started... we can list these stories all day.0 -

But isn't the march whatever it is the same as door to door knocking? I mean throwing it out to the public whether they like it or not? I'm not sure I get why gay people need to march or what it even achieves.
If its just a day out then cool but I can't help but think there's a different agenda,
It's odd, I found myself amongst such a march in London once. Live 8 was on the same day. The groups I came across were all exactly as you describe!!! Ass less leather chaps, Men with nipple chains on all 4s... And indeed the press were loving it. Talk about loading the gun0
