    Oh well

Why did the Chargers call the time out though?
Really dumb move.  Their best hope at that point was the tie:  the going for two down 9 was dumb too.  You always save the two in that situation for the last TD.  They miss that it was over.  Herbert deserved better.  What a future that guy has

And in the most Stephen Ross/Miami Dolphins move.....they've fired him.

This is fucking outrageous. His 10-6 record last year was better than two NFC playoff teams. His 9-8 record this year is as good as the Eagles' record and they made the playoffs. The team plays hard for him. They could've quit this year when they were 1-7 and didn't. This is fucking bullshit.

In the most Colts move ever, Reich gave Wentz his seal of approval moments after the worst loss in franchise history. If they’re not both shitcanned I’ll have a hard time caring what they do going forward.

Thats a disaster.  Players want to play for the guy it seems.  That is a tough thing to come by with NFL millionaire players.  By all accounts, Watson wanted to be a Dolphin to play for Flores.  Miami, although they havent made the postseason, has been more competent these past 2.5 seasons than any other stretch since the mid-90s.

Wow, shocked by Flores getting fired.
Jets must be happy, they can ascend to 3rd in the division now.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear Jim Harbaugh's name get connected to the opening. When he left Stanford for the 49ers, the Dolphins were in the running to hire him. With rumblings that he might leave Michigan for the NFL, Miami is a possibility.

No it's already been reported that it's not because of Harbaugh, which I'm happy about. I'm angry they fired Flores, but I'd be angrier if they fired him just to bringing in Harbaugh.

I don't really follow the Dolphins, but it seemed like Flores was a good coach. He almost got his team into the playoffs even with his starting QB missing some games with an injury.
  • One silver lining of this Flores firing is I just saw the funniest Reddit comment I've ever seen. Someone called Flores' firing racist (because of course some did), someone else mentioned that they fried Adam Gase after three years and he had nearly exactly the same record as Flores, and then someone called it "Critical Gase Theory" which I found hysterical.

Yeah the Dolphins are stupid for firing him. Crazy that he lost his job while Joe Judge keeps his in New York (thank god, as an Eagles fan though lol).

I'm fairly certain he's still under Seattle control, so it would take a pretty big package of assets (picks and young contributors) to make that deal happen.  I'd love it if the Browns could score him but I think it's a long shot for almost any team.

Fair points.  If there is slightest chance he can be gotten, and you need a QB, you gotta try.  I’d rather have Waldo than Rogers…Rogers is more suited in Green Bay, Florida or Texas…Montana if they had a team might be perfect…
