I will say this. Quality of the Thursday night games has been very good most weeks this season. (In terms of competitiveness) That has not been the case in the past.

I feel like they started getting better last year
Just checked...last year for 14 Thursday night games not counting the season opener, had 5 decided by one score or less and 9 decide by over 7 points (including scores like 34-13, 45-10, 42-23, 34-3, 52-21and 30-9)

Hmm. Well maybe the other three over 7 points were good ones. So about half were good?

34-23, 38-24 and 31-17. (the 38-24 was Pats/Colts and wasn't as close as final score, I remember that one well, and the 31-17 was Saints/Falcons Thanksgiving night, also not as competitive as it sounds)
Final Thurs game of the year was the Chargers 29-28 win in KC on the 2 point conversion late, so your brain is probably just remembering the last thing it saw.
I love Thursday night football. It stretches out the NFL week where it feels like no down-time. It is another nationally televised game not lost in the 1PM, 4PM sunday slog.
In the next CBA, I hope they can work on some sort of scheduling that marries bye weeks with Thursday games though to keep it safe and players happy

Amen. A lot of people complain about TNF and I don't see why. It's nice to have game in the middle of the week. What else would I watch on Thursday nights? Between May 1998 (final Seinfeld) and November 2006 (debut of TNF), the answer was nothing.

I feel like it is one of those things that is just socially acceptable to be obligated to bitch about.
Reminds me of hockey when every fan bitches when a ref calls a player for hooking/tripping as well as the other player for diving. They claim it cant be both. It certainly can. There can be a hook, but a player can embellish at the same time. Every time it happens though, you see a slew of people rehashing the same couple phrases.
But yeah. Thursday gives just enough time to recover from Monday and get your fantasy team and gambling interests ready. Then you usually have a compelling college football game Friday night, Saturday college football, NFL all day Sunday, and Monday night. Take a breather Tuesday to look at power rankings. If you are a crackhead, you can even watch MACtion on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Putting product in my face all the time is a big part of why I’ve cooled on the NFL. I’m not gonna get hyped for a Browns Dolphins showdown. Liked it better when they kicked in after Thanksgiving.

I agree. I'd also rather see opening night on Saturday rather than Thursday.
Alright, alright, alright!

here is a novel idea. watch the games you are interested in and ignore those that you are not. it's not really complicated. if a Thursday night game sucks i don't watch. if it's interesting ill watch. same with Sunday's and Monday's. my eagles don't play this week so i have no expectation of how much actual NFL I will watch this week. Personally I think every game on Sunday should be on regular TV and the times should be staggered. Start at 10:00 am in the East and have different games start on the hour every hour and all on TV.

10 and 14 point type games can be good ones. The match ups going in looked good too. Pats/Colts with Luck still there was a game people didn't roll their eyes over. I just remember the Jags/Titans types of games being more prevalent before last year.

Agreed about too much being a bad thing.
I liked when they didn't have any Thursday games (other than Thanksgiving) but just had Saturday games in December, after college was mostly done.

I’m talking about the year round news cycle and the bogus shit that gets turned into news along with shitty prime time matchups.
I don’t watch as much of it. That was kinda the point of my post.

Yea I don’t pay attention in the off season. Heck I don’t even watch the pregame shows anymore. I used to watch those religiously in like the 90s

Yeah I can’t stand pregame shows anymore. I just wait until kickoff and then turn on the game.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.
Yeah, i dont have time for pre-post shows. Most sunday i cant watch games other than the bills. Too much life to do. Primetime games are great for after the kids go to bed

Yeah I haven't watched pregames in a long while. Maybe catch a couple minutes once in a while, that's it.
I do watch some NFL network stuff during the week sometimes though. (And take every chance I get to watch Coleen Wolfe).
This weekend we rock Portland

Agree with last two posts I love Melissa Stark on NFL Network. Color Rush is one of the worst things to happen to my eyes in years.

Why can't you run 2 on Monday Night?

Now we've got a couple non Sunday prime time games and we're lucky to get a good match up because Fox and CBS have to have their big game as does NBC.

Back when Bill Parcells was coaching they didn't play those Thursday games, and, by the way, get your dog off my lawn.
