My top 5 (in no particular order) include Montana, Manning, Brady, Favre, Johnny Unitas.

I don't include Bradshaw because he wasn't a great qb IMO. He was an excellent game manager and didn't turn the ball over a lot. I've always felt that if he didn't have that defense, he wouldn't have won 4 rings.

dan marino? john elway? i'd have them over manning, favre and unitas i think. those guys put up all those crazy numbers back when the offense didn't have an unfair advantage.
Sure, elway and Marino were great. They're just not in my top 5. If I did a top 6, elway would be there. I hate Dan Marino.
    why you hate marino?

I planned on watching IND at PIT, but the Steelers are wearing their throwback bumblebee uniforms. I can't look at them. Watching PHI and ARI instead.

Wow Roethlisberger became the only player in NFL history with multiple 500 yard games. If that offensive line can protect him the rest of the year half as well as they did today, they're gonna be tough. I think I'd take Ben/Bell/Brown over any QB/RB/WR combo in the league right now.

I'm a Steelers fan and the combo is great, but Romo, Murray and Bryant is pretty tough as well...

I still think I'd rather have the trio of manning/Thomas/and whatever bum denver has at rb!

It seems hard to believe that Ben is the first NFL QB with two 500 yards games. I would have guessed that Brees had 25 of those already.

I had Detroit in my suicide pool. I turned the game off at the 2 min warning.

    Alright, alright, alright!

That's nearly word for word what my father said. He said Marino instead of Brees though.

feels weird seeing football at 9:30 in the morning on Sunday

guess west coast people are used to it. i didn't realize this game was this week. quite a surprise.

in other news--i'm late on this but congrats to peyton manning, even though all of these new nfl offensive records are complete and utter bullshit. it is literally impossible to compare players of different generations in this sports nowadays.
I somewhat agree. The rules have definitely been geared in the offenses favor. But, that has only been in play for about 6 years. think Peyton can easily be considered the qb ever. I know he's only got one ring, but he revolutionized the position and how offenses are ran.

I like to ask myself if I had one person in crunch time, who would it be? It makes it easier fir me to compare players from different eras.

Bradshaw ... didn't turn the ball over a lot. .

His 212 TD to 210 INT ratio begs to differ. (210 INTs in 168 games)

Ok. He threw some picks. The defense was there to pick him up.

Jon gruden just said redskins on air! He'll be reading his apology by Thursday!

Ben Rothesburger is a hall of famer right? 2 super bowl rings. The only qb to throw 2 500 yard games. I don't think he was an mvp, but I'm sure he's been close.

I'm thinking he will amass enough numbers to go with the hardware when he calls it quits.

I think if he retired today he'd still get in. I feel the same about Eli manning

Big Ben is lucky he did all of his sexual assaulting in the pre-Ray Rice era. Back in the good old days when you could run cocaine or stab a fool and still get inducted into a "Ring of Honor"

    :))

I dont think Big Ben gets HoF listing yet but he is still pretty young - he keeps going for a number of more good years and I think he could be there.
They need to raise the criteria some with these Madden stats going on.
2 Super Bowls goes a long way toward Canton though....Eli would never get consideration w/o but he has them so I think he gets consideration.
