Greetings. Please, can we not discuss hot, controversial or otherwise argumentative topics in the lounge car? I'm told that being thrown from a moving train can be hazardous to one's health.
Have a great Friday evening everybody!
Was not really discussing the topic, just speaking about starting a thread about a (the) topic. No arguments, no controversy.
Sorry, I though you meant here in the lounge. And actually, it's an interesting idea. I'm curious now as to if Jason will start a "neanderthal" thread. Or was it "nefarious nimrod"?

The feline version of me this evening after smoking a bowl or two with the man, playing with our kitties and decompressing in other various indulgent ways (and we have that cat-stratcher-but-also-must-lay-on piece pictured down there; they LOVE it):
Ah, hem, bartender? What's on tap this evening, if you please? Tough, tough week for a variety of reasons. Need something to lighten my mood, make me laugh and remember the good times. Whattya got for me?

Peace.
My recommendation, good sir, Cuervo Gold Margarita on the rocks, wedge of lime, , icy salted glass. Mmmm, mmm!

Hope everyone's weekend is off to a nice start!

Did some trekking, traveling through some deep Florida Nature type areas.
Deep forest, Bushes, waters, swamps.
I live in a fairly secluded place, peacefully. Decided to travel the area...Saw some beautiful views, wildlife, the whole trek was great, slightly dangerous, intense.
Reached a point where waters connected, I was standing over the centre point of an island/peninsula, muddy, shallow, then it opens up and reaches large waters.
Kept on walking until I came across a shack, a small home, hidden in this wilderness.
On the outside the letters KKK, covered in bullets this place was, littered with old beer bottles.
I walked up to the shack, slowly, expecting anything... Dirty blankets, old water pump is what I first saw through the doorway, I estimated this place was active maybe 60 years ago.
So what else did I see? Agave plant, yup...I think people were making tequila here years ago, they lived on this secluded, hidden piece of land and built shop. -
All in all, it was a fun few days, other than the cuts, bumps and bites.

Or food...or belly rubs.
It's funny how I haven't received one intentional scratch since changing my approach with our older one!
Idris, your time immersed (for lack of a better term) in that environment was nicely-described. Sounds lovely and serene, and like it did you good (despite that shack - I think it would've given me the heebie-jeebies).

Well, they say a picture is worth more than a thousand words. So...
(let's see if I can post these photos)
So these few images are from Google Satellite, It's part of the area I walked/trekked.
These two below is where the waters come together, it was quite fantastic sitting in this area. Great feeling.
and....The Klan Shack
and at one point, the area just opened up, sun hitting the land just so right, So I got a pic of myself.
You know how on Single Video Theory, Ed talks about giving way to nature? I think we'd all be a whole lot better off if we did that on a regular basis - even if only within.

Been a long week, but a good one. My husband just started working for the folks who own VCA (animal hospitals) - some of their employees BRING THEIR DOGS TO WORK. And they have a pool table in the breakroom.
I'm envious of and so fucking happy for him
You have a good one there. I'm gonna join you on a generous pour - supplemented by an expertly-packed bowl!
I had plans for Friday night! ...but a storm knocking trees around and taking power lines down pretty much wrecked those plans. Oh well, it was only my Thursday anyway. Tonight, however... )

I hope everything is alright there Brian! Did you lose power? Are the recent storms helping alleviate some of the drought conditions?
By the way, once again, I have the non-alcoholic induced post weekend hangover haha... we tried to pack in too much this weekend. I'm wiped out and trying to get some work done, so maybe instead I'll just ride the Train's Lounge car all day.
(Ok, it wasnt completely non-alcoholic. There was rum.)
