I think the overall idea with ticket sales on tenclub's site is great. However, it seems to be an IT issue that has affected the last several ticket sales.

Do you have professionals working on your backend to insure technology is up to date and has enough capacity? Do you think you had a breach in security?
  • The problem with ticketing was really bad. But the big issue, to me, was that the lack of communication from the Ten Club personnel. If they'd just given an occasional status to everyone it would have eased the tension. I'm a software engineer. Whenever I'm working on a software problem I have to keep the users informed . . . what have we checked, what have we ruled out, what are we still going to look at, is there any way of knowing how long it will take, etc. I tell them as much as I know at any given time, and let them know when to expect another update. People just want to know what's going on. I think they can forgive problems if they know you're doing everything you can to resolve it.

Also, is the "sabotage" being investigated? Will we find out what caused the problems? Is the band aware fo how bad the problems were? Thanks Kelly.
  • Hi Kelly
Personally for me, and I know for many of the member, the fact of not knowing, having any clue was the biggest problem. You guys only needed to write 1 line.

"We are very sorry of the recent events. We are waiting for more information and will get back to you."

But we got nothing. That was so wrong.

Why it took so long to give some news?

I just hope we do not go through this ever again.

    Thanks for your time.

Just one more suggestion: please make Ten Club tickets transferable from one member to another. It should be technically easy to implement, and I can only see benefits. You could even limit it to a certain amount of times.

IS THE TICKETING ISSUE FIXED FROM HERE ON OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for the past few years buying tickets through 10c has honestly drove me up a wall ..... and im close to taking my TICKET PURCHASES else where.

    THANKS KELLY
don't blame you.. we all feel the same way. of course we are working on the perfect system.. any ideas? send them along

why would we come up with the ideas? YOU'RE THEIR MANAGER! I'm a school teacher and wouldn't ask you how to teach a good WWI lesson on trench warfare.

    - Why sell the tickets all at the same time?

    - Knowing how badly the previous ticket sales went, why such a short time frame between the 10C presale and the public sales (giving absolutely no time to fix anything that can go wrong)?

    - Why giving only a few days between the announcement of the tour and the presales, not letting people have the time to determine if they can go and make proper plans? (not a new thing happens on every tour)

    Thanks for doing this!
no matter how many shows we put up.. we are still getting a similar amount of traffic... and as of what we know right now.. it is not a traffic issue.. the servers were humming along fine.

ticketing issues have been happening on this site for years. we pay our money hoping that "maybe next time will be finally be different" and yet there are always people who have the damndest time getting tickets, a privilege they have payed for (and are now asked to pay more for). after 5+ years of site issues, the ticketing is finally outsourced and the process is still a giant clustermess. "sabotage" or not, this has long been a problem and it has never been adequately addressed. and the continual lack of communication and information on top of that piles on to an already crappy situation.

so my question is simply this: where is the accountability? accountability for continuing to not get ticket sales to run smoothly, accountability for lack of and poor communication, accountability for what has been a growing trend of dissatisfied customers? you might not see that last one in membership numbers/dollars, but it's all over this site and at the shows. it's most likely the reason you are here right now, mr. curtis.

    thank you for your time.

were you aware at Alpine that a secondary company was selling killer VIP tickets 10 Club was unaware about, and then shut down their operation and all who might buy from them----including me.

Any sensible person would realize that the Ten Club and/or its management (Kelly or Tim or whom ever) has failed Pearl Jam fans with yet another ticket problem. I should point out- we don't expect tickets every time Pearl Jam tours - however we do expect you to respect our time. The many hours/days (work, sleep, family..., or whatever) we sacrifice dealing with your web site trying to get tickets - is simply unacceptable. Therefore, you or somebody needs to take responsibility, step aside and let a professional manage this part of Pearl Jam's business. Are you willing to accept that?

Sorry, not to bash you for your efforts, but your incompetence in this area is obvious and is severely frustrating many of your loyal fans unnecessarily. Come on! Get it right for god sake. We, your loyal fans, deserve better. We love Pearl Jam but who every makes these decisions about fan club tickets needs to be replaced immediately. Please make that happen Ten Club. Thank you!

Hi and thanks for replying to our questions.

Could you please clarify the way 10c members will be entitled wristbands with GA tks bought through the general sale? Will single 10clubber buyers (buying 1 tkt each) be allowed a wristband?

    Thank you!
details for wristbands coming next week per ten club news post.

what are you doing right now to fix this or to get the people behind the "sabotage", we can give you ideas but I think you should hire an expert and get this thing rolling as it should be, I don't think can be that hard in the year 2011!!!

Question: Why did it take so long for the 10C to communicate with fans about what was occurring regarding the recent European pre-sale? The fans waited for over 24 hours without hearing anything and Crowdsurge indicated that that they were also waiting for information from Pearl jam's camp.
it took us that long to get the information ourselves.
    Hi Kelly,
then why did you not let the members know that you don't know? Why couldn't you let the people know that they can go to sleep and nothing will happen in the next 8-9 hours? Why couldn't you inform the europeans two hours earlier about the decision to give the tickets to the general presale instead of doing it past midnight?

I got two tickets for the 2nd Manchester night will I get an early entry wristband?

Why the 30 hour delay,I find it hard to accept you never knew what was going on.

Why no Scottish dates (again) twice in 20 years is sickening and no excuse is valid

Build a bridge with Ticketmaster and get over it,I'd rather pay a fee to them than have a repeat if the fiasco of the past 3 days ... Crowdsurge have a catalogue of horrendous reviews on the web,was this not researched before they got the contract?

I'm not going to gush about how great it is that you are here,it's your job as the manager but why are we still getting politician answers?

    Mr Curtis,

I made up PJF5 tshirts, would you like one sent to you? What size do you wear?

    :D

It seems bizarre that the (for the most part) general admission shows in Europe have spawned a discussion group. But the tragedy that was PJF5 Alpine Valley did not.

You or someone should do this for each tragic event.

I mean it is making national/regional news casts.

I thought the Canadian second pre-sale went quite well. Why not use Ticketmaster for all future sales? Does Stone and Jeff just dislike them that much?

It's obvious most fans don't have a clue what the term "sabotage" means. Odd that someone really has it out for creating this conflict between the 10C and the fans.

Are you abolutely sure about that?

Cause I can feel a dip in speed right now, just as I did at the day of the presale (and yesterday). I don't know the technical details about the whole Crowdsurge setup but IF they had to sync their system with your fanclub database on YOUR servers, you could end up having issues, which you did obviously...

Thanks btw and Merry Christmas! ;)

Couldn't a simple zip code give people priority for tickets who live in a certain area?

    - If it was sabotage against crowdsurge wich you outsorced to, located in another country. Why did the forum also crash with only 200 members online at the same time?

    - Do you personally think that a fanclub only show (at a reasonable big place) is a bad thing to throw in during the tour? As compensation or something. And not for only 1500 people like the Vic in 2006.

    - Even if you did not not what have happened exactly, why did you stay completely quiet when the forum was in uproar - and not say at least something. SOMETHING. And not quiet for 30hours.

    - Was the second manchester show decided without PJ and the ticketmaster sale just magically start? Even if you only knew a few hours before - Shouldnt you have informed the fans?

    - Do you think the communcation from the fanclub to the fans are working?

    - Are any ides of some kind of compensaition being discussed?

    - Do the band want to realese a statement, or an apology about any of this?

Hi and thanks for your time.

Why can't european fan club members get a first chance to see the band in their own country first?

    Thanks

Merry Christmas Kelly. Hope you and the family have a great one.

This ticket problem will blow over and our friends in Europe will be rocking out with the band next year.

add something to the thread or leave it alone and view it from a distance my friend. but this isnt helping.

please don't be a politician Kelly. The two most pertinent questions needing answered (and mentioned at least 6 times on this thread alone) are:-

    1. why was there a 30 hour delay before releasing information?

    2. Why was there absolutely no offical announcement of a second show? As the bands manager are you trying to tell us you have no idea a 2nd night was scheduled and could therefore offer a heads up to the thousands of tenclubbers who got shut out of the 1st night crowdsurge pre-sale?

personally the lack of free flowing information is insulting... we are all into other bands and acts... all of these other bands that i love (Arcade Fire, Raconteurs, Midlake, etc) never let a ticket agency announce a 2nd date. that's the domain of the act and the management of that act... why was there NO announcement of a 2nd night?

Are the band members aware of what has happened?

(if yes) How do they feel about it, and have they had any ideas / suggestions?
    (if no) Why not?

Thanks Kelly and merry Xmas!!! :)
