  • Well inside job was the song i was most wanting to hear, so opening it as an opener WAS A SHOCK!!! i honestly cried during it, its such an amazing song. Why all the inside job hating? and whats wrong with the album version? i think its a classic!

I was blown away by pearl jam last night, they were seriously on form. Eddie was spot on, and Mike was wailing like a god! Every member seemed to be buzzing.

The only thing i was a little dissapointed about was the fact there wasnt anything played from no code, binaural, or riot act! :(. It seems to me pearl jam play old school stuff, because half the fans dont know the new stuff at the british isle shows!

But the song selection from the other albums was spot on! the atmosphere was immense when Alive was playing! And the crowd surfing was awesome during fuckin up. Indifference was my fav moment, i wasnt expecting that to be played! All the new songs sounded perfect too. Does this band get better or what? i love them!

didnt get a t-shirt though :( it was mayhem trying to get a shirt. I should of got there earlier! You think people will put them up on ebay soon? They should add them to the pearl jam store, that page needs a serious update!

    PEARL JAM ARE THE GREATEST!!
  • Ed threw my boyfriend and me his tambourine at the end.
    YAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!! fellow tambouriner!

  • YAY, you're who he threw the other one to?? Congratulations! We got the one he broke with the vicious bashing he did of them! It's so beautiful...my boyfriend had to go catch his flight to Reading straight after the gig so the prized tambourine is in the safehold of my house until he gets back! (I'm goin' over on Sunday.)

Ok I got a few quesiton for the folks who had 10c tickets for Dublin.

I understand there was a seperate seciton in front of the stage. Was it only 10c? Or was it an "early bird section"?

And could you, at any time, enter that section with your wristband, so that even if you arrived at 20:30 you could still easily get into the seperate section?

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure if the pit was for 10 club only but we got pass-bands when we arrived less than an hour before the doors opened to pick up our 10c tickets. Walked into the pit section 5 minutes before PJ took the stage.

Oh ok, thanks man. I hope it will also work that way with the other concerts.

Was it hard to get the tickets from the 10c stall (huge queues or something)?

Under normal circumstances, the pit is for whoever's earliest. For this gig, pit bands were reserved for 10c, but it wasn't full so whatever was left were given to the GA people at the front of the queue.

No queue at all to pick up the tickets, walked straight up to the window collected the tickets and walked off. There were already about 100 10clubbers in the queue for entry to the venue when I arrive so things may have been busier earlier.

With my mate having pulled out I was very anxious of going. I was thinking about it all night and decided after nearing a live version of Faithful in my car in the moring that I had to . Now I was looking for a ticket on this site , ebay and buy and sell and found. There was very little tickets available outside. The touts had very few. I was getting shitless now but then this tout appeared charging €200 I gave him €165.Ground floor seating. Delighted that I went straight to the second pit.The set and lighting reminded me of Kings of leon Video( I think its California waiting).Man was there some big fella's in the crowd including a James Hetfield lookalike.the Crowd was immence .I lost a half a stone in sweat. Wrecked after about 6 songs. Mad crushes. Betterman was highlight along with Leash and of course Black..I could say the whole setlist

Eddie told or made a balls of the same joke again.

There was mistake in the Boys are back in town.Eddie was just about to come back in and Mike played a solo.

    Great night
  • Holy shit, where to start! I've been to a lot of crazy gigs in the last couple years but last night (as I knew it would be) was very special. Got there about 6, thought queue was alright but knew any chance of getting into the pit was gone. Didn't matter cos got up to the centre of the second barrier and had the best view I could ever have asked for (bearing in mind I'm a very small female!) Paddy Casey - god help him. I saw him support Alanis Morrisette in Belfast a few years ago...he must be getting used to crowds hating him cos the reaction that time was very similar to last night. It seems he has a better sense of humour now though.

I'm not going to go into to all the ins and outs of last night but all I can say is the setlist was incredible! Pearl Jam have been my favourite band from ever since I discovered the wonderful world of music, so I knew there was no way they could play everything I wanted them to. In the end there were really only 3 songs that I would have loved to have heard but alas there is always next time (Elderly woman, Porch and Red Mosquito.) Can't believe they played Rearviewmirror and Do the Evolution (two of my favourites I wasn't sure if they would play or not!) I cannot express how great the set was and how every song was perfect. Betterman blew me away (as I knew it would) and as for Alive, words can't express the sheer sense of euphoria that came over me during that song. Boom was AMAZING on Crazy Mary which was another highlight for sure!! And I LOVE that when Eddie spoke the crowd just fell silent, listening carefully to every word he said. The lads looked like they really were enjoying themselves and the crowd interaction was great.

The sound was really good were I was standing and the crowd were mental and truely made it an amazing atmosphere! From the looks of things I was one of the last surviving females in my part of the crowd as things got pretty wild + my appearance as I limped out of the arena must have been a sight to behold as I was covered in water and looked completely bedraggled (in so much pain today!) Big shout out to the guy in front who I pretty much held on to all night for dear life when it got rough, the Scottish guy who looked amazed I was still there in the rough of it and kept giving me his water, and the sweet blonde guy who kept making sure I was ok. I was very greatful to know you were behind me!! Feel the love!

I have now fulfilled one of my life's ambitions in seeing my favourite band play live. And let's hope it will not be the last. THANK YOU PEARL JAM!! Roll on the bootleg!!!!! xx

I was fairly sure that Ed would play Soon Forget as I saw one of the roadies bring out his ukulele.

By the way, what was up with the balcony? Even during Fuckin' Up, when the house lights were up, I looked up and most people were sitting down! Tapping their fucking feet!!!! Were they at the same show?????
Better that than having a torch shone in your face and some big hefty security fecker telling you to sit the fúck down. They only let people in the back stand up.

Saw them in Millstreet in '96. This was sooooo much better.I'm 38 and have seen a lot of great gigs but last nights concert in Dublin is up there at the very top of the list. This band is going from strength to strength and long may it last..........Fantastic crowd, we were standing near the back and the crowd was hopping;even back that far. I agree with a few other guys here that the band were a bit surprised at how vocal the crowd was...............One other point please stop asking about this BOOOOO'ing thing, everybody should know what it's about by now.

Mike was pointing up to the sky during one of the last songs. What is this in reference to?

  • After last nights gig I can die a happy man. I've been waiting such a long time to see them. Ten was the 1st CD I bought when I was 12 years of age, I've bought ever release since, DVD's and the odd bootleg. I missed them in 2000 due to a family illness and was too young to get to the gig in 96. I'm still buzzing from last night. I don't think any gig that I might attend in the future can compare with that. I'm Euphoric!!

Really brilliant gig, probably better than 2000...
Hopefully it won't be another 6 year wait for the next one (and hopefully Paddy Casey won't be in attendance next time either)

The band were in great form, well rested over the last month I guess! Great set-list, brilliant versions of each song.

Just out of curiosity, where were the 10c tickets for (Standing, balcony seats, ground-level seats)??

Can't wait for the gig to come online!

I hope so; it's on the list and says it can be pre-ordered now (they take about 5 days after to come online I think!)

AMENt TO THAT got one too!! you lucky lucky people (well, I got Mike's water bottle at the end...not quite the same though ;))
You deserve it, you waited long enough!

That was great..and I'm too tired to think about writing properly (4 hours sleep, flight at 9.00am then straight to work) but..
Highlights: Indifference because I just love this song, same with Crazy Mary (though AGAIN, Ed took the bloody bottle the other side..I'm French.. I need to taste that wine...make sure he's not poisining himself ;)); Education which, like every PJ song, works even better live and it's just cool getting something new :b, BABIT worked great too, and I'm not even Irish! great RVM, fantastic Matt solo on Even Flow. Inside Job opening was a nice surprise and worked really well, Fuck'in :)...well everything really!

the seperate pit is great and I certainly hope they do it everytime, especially for my friends that want to dance and not be squashed, but that way they can still be pretty close...and I might join them someday when I get sick of the front row..right!
For reference it's NOT a 10c pit. It an Early Bird one (so obviously 10c since we get early entrance, but then the first xx of normal tickets)..that's what the pink wristband was for..though I didn't find out until way after down the pub..and that's what the security guy was talking about 2000 wristband for something (he got muddled between that and early entrance..and as we were at that point still in the middle of the non-10c crowd trying to get our tickets..got us a bit panicked).

only bad points were the 10c ticket organisation (though it sorted itself, it created us unecessary stress: you can't play with the nerves of people that have not even got their tickets in their hands!!! I sure hope its sorted at the other shows because if that was like that in a country were the staff and PJ-people speak the same language....I don't want to imagine what's going to happen on the continent!!)...and Paddy Casey..though he handled it quite well..and it wasn't THAT bad..just not of interest at all..and we could see the clock ticking towards curfew..'get out' vibes reached him pretty strongly (and teh Irish tehre seemed to really hate him..but not too much heckling thankfully..I was afraid that PJ might take offence and cut us even shorter).

and everyone I met was brilliant and I can't wait to see them again (the band and the people)!

Anyway..watching I was so glad I'm going another 7 times that I thought comes Athens time I might just die of happiness..and sadness it's over...
It's going to be the best fucking 6 weeks of my life..and the perfect 35th Birthday present... making me feel like a care free 20 year-old again..with a touch of 7-year-old on Christmas morning :D

    I love you PJ
    I love you all jammers
I love life very much right now

ok, now I go home and to bed before I get arrested because they think I'm on something..no no officer, just endorphine I swear..got Scotland Yard literaly across the road too so better be careful!
