For me the most overrated are AC/DC! In my country (Bulgaria) they are religion! I really don't know why. I just can't stand them :)

PEARL JAM- 12/6/13 I have finally seen Pearl Jam live!
  • In no particular order -

Lady Gaga - when there was an actual discussion on another board I'm a member of as to whether or not Gaga is 'bigger than The Beatles', I knew that her fame had grown WAY beyond her level of 'talent'...or should I say, 'gimmick'.

Creed - good lord, give me Alter Bridge any day of the week. And that's even after you put aside the fact that, early in their career, they tried to sound exactly like PJ, just to hitch a ride up the charts.

Nickelback - is there really any explanation required?

Slipknot - Stone Sour is a better band, IMO.

Nirvana - I liked them okay...but of the 'big 4' Seattle bands at the time, I liked them the least. Which was not the 'cool kid' prevailing opinion back then.

Coldplay - I never liked them at all, right from the start.

    Radiohead - MEH.

Never understood how anyone could like that band. The thought of JH's vocals makes me cringe.

I'm with you on this one too.

Plus, JH is such a douche. Which makes me like them even less.

I am a bit surprised to see Springsteen mentioned a few times on this list. For my money, he's the best songwriter out there. But to each their own, I guess.

Well, in fairness, it's really not JH's vocals that turn me off so much as his general douchebaggery. I find, for example, that when Apocalyptica covered Metallica, I liked it a lot more - probably because the songs are good. I just have a tough time separating the songs from the fact that I REALLY dislike JH.

That is probably a more fair statement with regard to my personal opinion. But of course, your mileage may vary. :)

I think sometimes if you go see a band live, it helps understand the obsession. I was a casual Springsteen fan, and my mom and dad, and two best friends are HUGE HUGE Springsteen fans. My dad and mom took me to see Springsteen, on the "Magic" and I was absolutely amazed. It was like seeing a crowd at Pearl jam. You are in a room full of people who just "get it." Saw him again with my two best friends on the WOAD tour and it was total awesomeness. Really had a whole new appreciation for Springsteen after seeing them live.

I am going to try to see MMJ in a few weeks. Really love their last two records. still need to listen to z proper though. Haven't given that one a full sit down and listen just yet.

How do you hate that album? Anyone who hates the Beatles or just thinks they are over rated in any way needs to get a clue.

  • I have never been a big Led Zep fan. John Bonham is great and all, but I think Black Sabbath is way better. Jimmy Page solos too much and Robert Plant can be a little annoying. Plus they ripped off half their songs from other people.
