Now I'm really getting excited about these shows. I only hope Little Mick and Bill show up in Newark also!!!! I leave for Newark in 21 days!
I wouldn't hold out for Bill. One of the reasons he quit the band (among other things) was that he developed an extreme fear of flying in the 80's. Not sure what happened to cause that. He's only come to the US once with Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings, and that was 11 years ago. I think he still flies from time to time if necessary. I guess it just depends on how necessary he feels his presence in Newark/Brooklyn is. Or maybe he can catch a boat. I'll steal a boat and go pick him up myself if he'll score me some tickets."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -
When he came to the states with the Rhythm Kings, he took a cruise ship over. I think Mick t has a better chance of showing up, but there is a large enough gap between shows for Billy to cruise over. There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.0

All my sources are telling me there will be no Mick T or Bill in Newark....very sad to find this out! i hope they are wrongThere's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.0

Rumor is that Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton are going to be at the 02 shows. I say rumor, the thread on IORR says it was in the paper and official, but they didn't link to the article or anything, so I can't be sure. I can definitely see Jeff Beck being there, as he performed with Jagger on SNL recently.
Speaking of Clapton, how awesome would the "Eric Clapton And His Rolling Stones" bootleg from the MSG show on the 75 tour had been as one of the archive series?"See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

I just wish Bill and Mick had been on the stage at the same time at one point. Having them come back is great, but to actually have the complete '69-'74 lineup on stage would have been epic. I bet they do it for an encore or something Thursday, that is if Mick and Bill aren't making the U.S. trip.
Here's about 30 sec of Midnight Rambler from last night. Looking for a whole version. Can't wait for an official release of this.

Never thought I would ever see Taylor and Richards on the same stage ever again."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -
The clips look outstanding. I read an interview with Chuck Leavell where he said more shows are likely assuming they feel good and healthy after these shows. I think Charlie is the issue, he hates touring and is the oldest. But, they will probably do a series of residencies next year before they hang 'em up for good.0

Hopefully a boot will appear shortly :corn:0

the only issue is Keith and his health/ability to get insured. Charlie has hated touring since 1989 but has always said that he will not be the one to put an end to it.There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.0 -

I don't know all that much about Charlie off-stage, but he seems like a pretty active a fit man for his age. If he's not touring with the Stones he's touring with his Boogie Woogie band thing. I think it's like voodoopug said, Keith is and has been the wild card. Especially since he fell out of that coconut tree. But aside from that, his hands just look so arthritic that I'm amazed he plays at all. They might look worse than they actually are, because he's still pretty decent with a guitar."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -
Keith appears "dry" during this run of shows too, which will helpThere's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.0

If these pictures don't bring a smile to your face, then you're probably not a Stones fan.
By the way, The Stones were fined £200,000 for their late start/finish at the O2. I'm sure they can cover it."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -
