  • Was anyone in Section 109 with Drunky Drunkerton? This middle aged dude with some hot young blonde was WASTED from the get go and fell down the aisle several times. A few times he slipped backwards and ended up on his ass, a few times he fell forward into people and down the steps. He would disappear for a bit and then show back up with two more beers in his hand!!! What a clown...

I was at both nights and thought last night blew MSG I away. I don’t know why—I just felt a better energy. Liked the setlist better mostly too. Funny thing, night 2, I gave my 10c seats to my son and his friend and sat up in section 228 that I got from TM, and I actually liked that view better than the floor. But our section was kind of subdued in spots. We were 2 seats in from the aisle, and came in 15 mins before the guys took the stage, and this woman sitting next to us, the FIRST WORDS out of her mouth were, “you’re not going to be jumping all around, are you?” WTF??? Now, I’m not 16, I was with my sister in law and she’s 36 and I’m 40...we weren’t planning on moshing or anything but there was no way in hell we would sit there for a minute…I don’t get people that go to a rock concert and expect it to be like a symphony. She looked about late 30’s/early 40’s and was with a man who looked to be late 40’s/early 50’s and he was pretty obviously dragged there by his lady friend.

Luckily for us (I can’t BELIEVE this) the people on the 2 end seats didn’t show up!! (Or they didn’t get sold?) so we were able to scoot down and not bump the stick in the mud couple with our dancing. I thought they’d stroke out when people started sparking up around them. Finally, for one song, I think it was Even Flow the lady got into it and was dancing around a little, I was joking to my sister in law that she should say, “hey, lady, can you not jump around please?” but thought that the joke would be lost on her.

Loved loved loved SOLAT into Even Flow with the drum solo, that changed it up from the night before, opening w/Release (like my sis-in-law said, PERFECT vibe to start it off with), Betterman rocked the Garden to the foundation, Garden, RVM…and I LOST it when the they started Black Diamond, I yelled, “I LOVE this song!” and someone said, “what song??” so I told them. I thought for sure I was the only one in my section that knew what it was—people were bewildered. I loved KISS as a kid, when I was 8 (1976) I asked for Alive and Destroyer for Christmas (kinda weird for a little girl I guess), my parents indulged me, so I blame my concert going mania on them ;)

Didn’t mind the repeats, especially since I had a slight emergency night 1 and had to leave after the first encore, so at least I got Alive again.

Awesome night. Thanks Pearl Jam, 10c, all the cool people we met, and No Code rocked the Cutting Room the day before!
  • Yeah, a small digital camera was blacking someone's view of the band. Doubtful. Take a step to your left and freaking relax. I'm not posting my videos on YouTube, so take another chill pill. Funny how you get on me for cursing, yet you have no problem dropping the S-bomb and F-bomb in your post. Classy.

I hope you can tell the difference between saying someone's camera is shitty, and it takes shitty pictures, as opposed to "fuck this guy" and calling someone an ass. and yes, cameras do block someone's view, especially when people are holding thnem up over their head. Did you ask the people behind you if it was blocking their view?
  • 1st night was WAY BETTER!!!! crowd was way more rocking. Better setlist, flow...etc...

weird that a band with such a big catalog, would have so many repeats back to back nights in the same venue.

msg 08 was much better than jersey 06.

So I bump into a friend of mine post-show. It was his first PJ show, but has been to many concerts. Says to me, " I've never been to a concert where the entire crowd is standing from start to finish. Incredible"

Welcome to OUR world, my friend, welcome to our world

For all those going, enjoy Hartford and Mansfield. See ya at The Beacon baby !!

Here's to you, wastoids. I'm glad you guys enjoyed the show behind us. I didnt think 4 guys could smoke a metric ton of weed while holding two full beers in each hand. Your consumption was inspiring. To see and smell that daring a feat executed to perfection was a first for me. bravo. Wearing sunglasses the whole show was also nice touch. Again, another first.

I know you were fans with 10C tickets. Or at least 2 of you were. You guys knew the words to every song and sang them in your slurred stupor with gusto. You deserve your own 10C bootleg series.

The way you rocked out was awesome. Row K could not contain you. Your headbanging during SOLAT and RVM was epic! When you accidentally banged heads with the 10c'er standing in row J in front of you, I knew it was on- The Rocking Would Not Be Denied.

You guys were also thoughtful. When your buddy passed out while standing up and fell on my wife during YL, you saved his beer from spilling! This saved your friend $7! And when your other buddy went to sleep during Last Kiss, screaming expletives at him seemed to perk him up for a few minutes. Did he drive you home?

Two amazing shows. No need to pick one over the other. My 12th show and first Release. What a great band.

Well, first off, fuck this guy who said this since I just watched a load of video I shot from halfway up the floor using my shitty digital camera and it all came out awesome. Glad you can buy the bootleg in a week. I'll get mine too. Oh yeah, and did I mention you're an ass?

    quote]

very nice. classy all the way. did you happen to notice that while shooting your video, you were probably blocking someone else's view of the band? No,because, as you would say----fuck those guys. And fuck the band too, who have made it a point to remind its fans that they do not want any filming of them. I guess they're all asses too. Block someone's view last night, and come on the board today and start hurling insults and curses. You may want to review the rules of this board, as well as the rules and requests of the band, when attending one of their shows

I attempt to not block anyone's view when doing so, which why mine are all shaky. I just do it because taking pictures would be pointless from my distance to the stage.

yay for drummer sons--my son's a drummer and his friend that he brought to sit in the 10c seats is one too, they were LOVING Matt's solo--they were blown away by the whole show. My kids were obviously raised on pearl jam and my son is now 18, his friend is 20 and they were so happy to be there. I love multi-generational families rocking out at shows! :)

A swig, a pick, great seats, AND this kind of a show for your first time...you are hooked for life now, man...trust me, as this was #23 for me ... it's the best addiction you could possibly have.

Yeah, I was told to get a hobby and I picked PJ- It was the best thing I did last year. I'm definitely spoiled- How can I top the next time I see them?

Great post !! Sad but hilarious.
I was held captive to 8 guys chain smoking cigarettes all night next to me. It felt like I was subject to some new kind of torture method. I think what msg show was better really depends on what the vibe in your section was like. Night 1 was a big party in my section. Last night was annoying, hence I liked night 1 better overall. Night 2 had the better set list IMHO.

Wow! Just Wow! That is all!

After going over both nights (in my head) I must admit that both were special, but I think the crowd at night 1 had a better vibe. Setlists were very close, but I'm not a Kiss fan so I have to also give the edge to the first night. With that being said, both shows were two of the best I've ever witnessed! Amazing time! Wish they could've played three nights!!! :D

Joebot- agree 100%. I had a great section MSG1, and left the show on an incredibly high note. The guys behind me for MSGII were a puddle of beer and weed.

The setlist is just part of the equation.

i was glad eddie acknowledged the fact he has been ignoring jeff the past few shows. i was just thinking during the show that if he ignored jeff again i was goin post to see if anyone else noticed that!

generally i think every 1st night is more exciting. i missed MSG1 but i was still super stoked on last night's show, and i thought everyone around me in section 312 had a load of energy. RATS. SOLAT. LUKIN. who cares about repeats??? pj songs rock no matter how many times you hear them!

i am only 26 (not a old fogie), but i agree that cell phone usage can get annoying. i dont usually even drink at shows bc i like enjoying the whole experience, not living behind the camera. i never even bring my camera (i did snap a few shots w/ my cell at irving plaza though..)

    thanks for the tix 10c!!!!!!!

went to both shows. Night 1 had the better setlist, but Night 2's crowd blew the first night away. Both nights were awesome though. I sat row 7 for the first night, but back by the sound board for the second night.. didn't enjoy it any less; the sound might have actually been a little better. Didn't mind any of the repeats either. Maybe couldve done without No More War again, though. Still great because the crowd participation was amazing Night 2.

Awesome two shows all around. Wow.

I would hope that if someone was THAT bothered, they would speak up instead of just complaining on a PJ message board. WaWaaaaaaaaaa.....

If someone told me I was in their way at the show, I would have gladly stopped.
