At The Who's concert at Roskilde on saturday, Pete mentioned something with Eddie Vedder and a couple of other very good friends of him, and that they had said that Roskilde was a great place to play or something along those lines?
Anyone at that concert who caught exactly what he said? Cos it just seemes a bit weird to me that Eddie would recommend Roskilde of all places to play after what happened. It could be, I just want to see if it was correct :)

That comment was a real crowdpleaser :) Don't remember excactly all of what he said. But he did say "I'm real exited to be here. Some very good friends of mine, Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam (Massive cheer!)....... and Wayne Coyne, recommended this place and spoke very fondly of it. We are honored to finally be here"

BTW That concert really saved my festival. Along with Muse and The Arctic Monkeys, that show made it all worth while. All the mud, the shitty weather, the wet clothes and the complete dissapointment of Red Hot chilli Peppers. In my 12 years on the festival I have never experienced worse weather and such a crappy concert ('cept one that is) as the peppers. So a huge thank you to Townsend and co!!

aha, now I remember! I just heard "My good friends Eddie Vedder...", and then my friends around me were all like "oh my god, he's gonna come out and play with them!!", so I was busy trying to tell them that I didn't really think that would happen and wasn't completly focused. Would've been great though :) How cool!

Yeah, only reason I stayed after thursday (our camp was floating around in the mud and rain) was The Who, and my god - it was definately worth it! :D amazing concert. Completly overwhelming. Too bad Chili Peppers was so dissapointing, cause great BigBang, The Who and Red Hot concerts on the same night would've really made that the day of the year. Thank god Pete & co did a great job :D

Great festival other than the weather, and a lot of not-so-good concerts.
See ya at Roskilde '08!..? :D

    Sorry for interrupting the thread.

No official. If you check the Touch base forum, there seems to be an unofficial boot circulating. No links though :( Would be nice to hear the show again.

I couldn't agree more. I've thought long and hard and never been so disappointed.

When The Who began I Can't Explain it felt like Roskilde again. I just went off.

Arrived early at the venue and got to hear 2 songs from soundcheck.
Man of the hour and Love reign o'er me. Also watched the band leaving for the hotel after s.c , everyone but Eddie that is who stayed at the venue until showtime.

    Oh!
Do you know if these are recorded and may be put on the net for us to download?

didn't see anyone recording during the soundchecks..we were too excited to hear LROM... TWICE :) (and they sounded better than at the show I think..but might have just been the excitement)

Prolly too busy bawling my eyes out, but yeah, the soundcheck did seem to be better than the show proper.

I remember hearing the soundcheck too, and it was note perfect. Even Boom's intro was spot on, but the actual show version was nowhere near as polished.

I stood at the back of the forum during soundcheck and heard Light Years and Breakerfall in full too. Both sounded absolutely amazing.

Yeah, I cringe listening to the intro on the boot. They did nail it during the soundcheck though.
