Interesting to see and hear all the love towards the one and only Ted Nugent. I've told this story here before and I won't say or waste another word this piece of crap of humanity....if you want to call him human.
A friend of mine many many years ago begged me to go to this show I don't know what she saw in the guy but she asked me to go along with other friends went to his show. Place was unexpectedly packed...I knew none of his music but I reluctantly went. The show went on I was bored to tears but my lady friend was having a great time....anyway we got separated in a rush of the crowd when TN was on some apparatus that had him hanging over the crowd. I don't know if he was on some drugs or what but during one song he urges the crowd as they rushed under him to attack or go after some girls there. As I'm looking up in some kind of act or rage he screams to rape her, rape her.....little did I know my lady friend was caught up in the middle of this madness and his idiotic fans start to tear rip up these girls clothes. I went ballistic busted through maybe 20 people to get to my friend who by then had her top shirt ripped off. I looked up at this motherfucker and he was STILL encouraging these maniacs...I wanted to kill him but I grabbed her wrapped her up and pushed us out of there.
She was crying and in shock....I wanted to file something but she said no and just wanted to go home. Maybe I posted this in the worst concert experience ever but I do remember posting this and these are my last words
I'll waste on this piece of shit of a human. As you'll know I post PEACE at the end of post but I'll say this IF I
ever run into this asswipe ever again I would put that peace sign away and put my fist straight through his
skull and Then put my fist through his nuts. I've been to hundreds of concerts but NEVER have I seen an act
encourage violence.
You people who love HIM please continue but I'll never ever have ANY RESPECT FOR THIS PIECE OF SHIT OF A
HUMAN.
PEACE
Not sure if I should pursue...
I do not now much about Nugent,
never went for the music and you know I am all about that.
But do you think he has asked for forgiveness, that he has regrets for what he did,
was it maybe 20 years ago?
I know I have asked for forgiveness for things done in my youth,
maybe you too
Do you think he will ask in the end and know the terror of your friend?
I do?
Do you think you can forgive once he understands?
I am more surprised at your violence after previous words we have spoke.
So I understand what this horrific event means to you?
I am sorry for this.
Man I sure didn't want to get back into this but I need to clear up a few things. Forgive me for posting off topic but some anger got the best of me seeing here and elsewhere all the love towards TN and I wanted to show a different side of him no offense Hank Jr.
I do want to formerly apologize for abusive words/violence towards TN...that was me many years ago. That's why I was hesitant to post about my experience with him I got a bit too angry. I would NOT do those things now I just wanted to vent...I'm done with that.
Pandora, based on TN's actions that night like someone said he couldn't give a crap about being forgiven or regretting anything he did I do believe he thinks he didn't do a damn thing wrong. Why would i want to forgive a person like that....Even though this happened 30+ years ago.
Do I think I can forgive TN if he could EVER understand? Since you asked I'll say yes I could now...HOWEVER, I'll do so when you will show that you are capable of the same. You consistently speak of forgiveness and tolerance when I saw NONE of that in past threads of violence. You spoke of violence as a deterrent even if it was your son to protect a sibling in The Sister In A Abusive Relationship thread. I don't understand how you can be so adamant in one instance and yet ask of me to forgive TN of the terror he brought to my friend.
I'm just looking, seeking SOME consistency in what you repeatedly speak of about violence and I wouldn't now smash his face but some sputum might make feel feel better.
I'm sure now Hank Jr has found much inspiration to write such a LOVELY song to hit #1 on the charts....maybe that was his plan ALL ALONG.

So much love towards TN ... one poster i think mentioned him :?
I don't know a thing about him.
I did not ask you to forgive him, I asked only IF you could,
if you had known he had changed and regretted what he done almost a lifetime later.
no where did I say forgive him
It is the words we shared by pm that surprised me so,
exact opposite your post we are discussing ... so I knew you were affected deeply by the event.
So much so to go against your core beliefs or what you told me they were.
I believe in supporting a family member that is being abused at the time, yes,
if that means with violence yes. A bold swift move to perhaps save a loved one or a stranger. Another thread another time but relevant because I have not changed
my view on that at all.
That has nothing to do with forgiveness or tolerance we are speaking of saving a life.
It is not revenge it is protecting another human being
If I knew my sister's abuser regretted what he had done of course I would forgive him ...
why wouldn't I? At the time he was brutally beating her in front of a two year old child ... no
of course I would not forgive that.. where is the common sense in that?
And yes that is what I think too .. perhaps...
crazy like a FOX.... write a song
make an event ...
put a record out
yes yes mixed my years up...I voted same year for Ford...there you go!
I do the same regarding forgiveness, of course you can nottell someone to forgive, that is ridiculous, that comes from their processing and their heart. We can only lend support and understanding to hopefully help in the process. Many helped me to forgive... I am thankful for that. I was drowning in hate, really stuck in events that I could not change.
I don't think I said the only emotion that comes from the heart is love ... we are complex creatures, yes
but the conversation involved that and for me I focus on love because it is positive and I try not to surround myself in negativity. That is counterproductive for me and my path.I have that choice as everyone does or not.
...
Well... color me WTF. You say you voted in 1976... yet, can't remember President Reagan's 8 year run? Which occurred after Carter's Presidency. I'm confused here, because so much happened in those two terms.
...
Forgiveness. It worked for you. It doesn't mean it applies to others. I'm just saying that it is a personal decision.
...
Finally... you agree... the heart DOES lie.

This becoming weak and petty and a slight to dear old Hank Jr. I'll say a few things and lay this to rest the last words as usual will be yours.
Your implication appears that you asked me to forgive TN for what he did IF he changed or regretted what he had done right? Well I answered you it appeared he didn't care about what he did that night, he wanted it to happen and it did..he ddidn't care to be forgiven nor as far as I could see that night that he had ANY regrets.
So when it comes to a family member violence is acceptable and that is your apparent belief even if that loved one IS NOT in EMINENT danger. That is your method of solving a domestic violence scenerio, fine and there's no room for any tolerance or forgiveness...yet you continue to preach that same forgiveness and tolerance in every situation you can. Why always do you bring it up yet when it comes to your family that topic is OFF the table.
Please re-read what you said in the thread... we should start a thread on Domestic Violence and see what is tolerated and what can be forgiven
I'm done the last word is yours. Please forgive me Hank Jr you can sing and write whatever the hell you want even if it never reaches #1.

this is way off topic another thread should started
but I will answer you
as far as implication implied is not on my part I was asking you
how you felt
yes we spoke at length outside the thread about it our conflict
not sure why I must explain again nothing has changed for me
not sure why you think it would
the abuser situation has nothing to do with forgiveness or tolerance
it would be ridiculous to forgive or tolerate when someone is in eminent danger
I have said this
if someone is being abused they are always in eminent danger
yes I think family members should step in ... even in the case of a stranger, we should help.
I'm sure if you had not been there for your friend you would have wanted someone to jump
in even if violence was the option. Violence is still an option from your words this long after.
That is revenge violence not protection.
Yes I would want my son to use protection violence to save his sister.
Tolerance and forgiveness come to those with regrets in their heart who ask for forgivness
as I have repeated over and over in this thread
yes yes mixed my years up...I voted same year for Ford...there you go!

yes I didn't google his years in office and thought it was years previous
like in the late 60's to mid 70's when I was not able to vote.
I do not remember if I voted at all those terms.
I pictured myself much younger with my father sorry about that. Not in my 20's.
My father passed when I was in my early 30's. Milestones is what I remember now.
For me and politics nothing happened during those years,
I was quite self absorbed in a massive amount of fun... met my husband had a baby or two
you know living my life life was good!
I learned to forgive with others help as I said ... the kindness of others sharing their experience
so yes we must forgive on our own but often with wise words from others.
No the heart does not lie ... its emotions are true both negative and positive,
if anything people ignore them.

1980 -1988... from what I remember. We were locked in a Cold War using threats of nuclear weapons. The Soviets invaded Afghanistan. We boycotted their Olympics. They returned the favor. AIDS makes its appearance. Iran and Iraq fought a brutal and bloody 8 year war in which Iranian charged Iraqi machine gun positions in 'Human Waves'. Human waves begin at stadium events. Space Shuttle Challenger blows up during take-off. Reagan is shot. Just Say No (except to a War On Drugs). Iran-Contra. Stock Market crashes. Lennon is murdered. Mt. St. Helens blows her top. Solidarity? Ring a bell? Gorbacev. Marcos. U.S. Navy escorts tanker ships in the Persian Gulf. Egyptian president Sadat is assassinated. Faulkland War. Israel invades Lebannon. Marines killed by truck bomb in Lebannon. First articicial heart transplant. Soviets shoot down Korean airliner. U.S. missile cruiser shoots down Iranian commercial airliner. Pan Am airliner crashes into Lockerbie, Scotland due to a bomb onboard. Grenada? Libya? Union Carbide... Bhopul? Chernobyl? Ring a bell?
Seriously... you don't remember any of those things? You must have been extremely self absorbed.
P.S. I almost forgot the most important news story... Kirk Gibson???!!!

What about heart transplant patients? Do they get the emotions of the donor?
And Artificial Heart recipients? Do artificial hearts lie?
...
Point being... it' the mind that figures out these things, including emotions.

a general term for... it is the keeper of the emotions ... a place without logic but just feelings
it is the feeling part of us it is our 'heart and soul'...
that does not lie not coming from the heart.... not to ourselves

and kindness ... maybe someday you'll get me for both our sakes

Yes the Cold War ... my father talked alot of that his era the Russians
I worked in a flower shop ... Floral Designer, AIDS touched my life big time
and took a few of my dear friends in the years since ...
my heart will remember this always.
I remember the Reagan shooting, my father was very upset and how cool
he thought the artificial heart was ... he was an inventor so this was
something he could relate to.
The space shuttle blew up on the day after I gave birth to my daughter, my second born,
we were still in the hospital
horrible, shocking, I cried with my baby in my arms
Lennon, 1980 we were in our waterbed about 12 midnight maybe ... little clock radio
gave us the news... it is so very clear like it was yesterday
his death blew me away as for most people ... I remember JB holding me as I cried,
we were not yet married
I think you can tell from this post I may have been self absorbed but it was
with loving, learning and experiencing what I thought was important,
people,
and I remember the heartfelt news over the politics of a world, yes
I still do.
Some of those political events in your time capsule sound familiar, some not.
I think maybe you had help creating your list
I enjoyed it though thanks!
PS I had to google Kirk Gibson ... thinking he had to do with the guitar
He shares my fathers birthday ... funny
and you should start a new thread like this it would be fun oh and
I guess Hank Jr just went down in history too

I just found your comment about "Not much happening during the Reagan years" as confusing because so much U.S. history happened in that time period. Many of the things that Reagan decided on formed what is happening today (mainly, the decision that lead to the creation and development of tactical militarism of Islamic fundamentalists).
And no... it was all from memory. I don't need to Google 'Ronald Reagan' (and still get the dates wrong). I lived through that timeframe and was aware of what was going on in the world, outside of my personal life. Reagan's legacy affected a lot of people.

Hail, Hail!!!
yesterday was harvest time @ my brother's garden. he grew many types of peppers and tomatoes. we canned, froze, and made salsa out of his bounty.
hank williams jr. played on the (his stereo) stereo for what seemed like hours. it really was not bad at all. it brought back memories and made me grin. we just sat or stood at the picnic table out under the trees cuttin, choppin and dicin up fresh vegetables all frickin day to the tuneage of ole hank jr. a country boy can survive type a deal.
that's a god damn fact.
hank does know somethin after all i guess.
also, i guess i like eem more than i dislike eem.
whatever... dude's music gets on my god damn nerves after awhile.
i am surprised brother dung and i never had a knife fight out back yonder way or summin.
(chew spit on the ground, wipe lips with sleeve... same sleeve for nose wipin' and a blowin')

Chad you painted a nice picture here.
I posted this song earlier and it is probably the reason I am a fan.
JB does it karaoke too .. gets his twang going, the little he has after being in the South for 20+
years.
...
My problem is I keep trying to apply logic/reasoning... to no avail.
I try to apply understanding...
my hope is to help others, to bring more kindness, respect and love
it is yet to be seen if that is...
to no avail
...
Fair enough. That explains why the things you say make no logical sense to me.
I think we understand each other a bit more after our conversations,
maybe even a meeting of the hearts, just as good as minds...
even better, well for me

I think people would say so much happens at any given time really.
It's all what you are into.
I bet you can speak on a lot of happenings such as these.
You are a buff.
I was just relearning about Lincoln this past summer and loving it
thanks to a great person here.
I like to learn...expand my mind and heart.
See you have already taught me a few things
What I remember from that era is learning about love, forgiveness, heartbreak,
among many other emotions. 20's is a big learning time for that ... to age 33 ...
we were planning our break cross country from Milwaukee
to start our business which proved to be way more successful than we ever imagined.
Politically or events wise I just remember those things that made me really feel.
That is most important to me... feelings not facts.
But to each their own and its nice to learn and share
I think people would say so much happens at any given time really. It's all what you are into.I bet you can speak on a lot of happenings such as these. You are a buff. I was just relearning about Lincoln this past summer and loving itthanks to a great person here. I like to learn...expand my mind and heart. See you have already taught me a few things What I remember from that era is learning about love, forgiveness, heartbreak, among many other emotions. 20's is a big learning time for that ... to age 33 ... we were planning our break cross country from Milwaukee to start our business which proved to be way more successful than we ever imagined.Politically or events wise I just remember those things that made me really feel.

You don't have to be a 'buff' to be aware of what is going on in the world. You just have to pay a little attention to things. I guess the differences come from living in a big city or living in a farm in the middle of nowhere.
I also think that this lack of critical thought has contributed to the division of this country. It used to be that apathetic voters... actually didn't vote, so it didn't matter. It was okay to be oblivious to politics.
Problem is... That's no longer the case... apathetic voters are now going to the polls with nothing more than their political party's recommendations on who and what to vote for. They are supposed to be using critical thought processes, forming opinions based on facts, reason and logic... not gut feelings or emotions.
And I'm glad to hear your business has rebounded and is back in the black.

I agree that the voters who are voting now tend to be less informed
but I do see many young people who surprise me and are very well informed,
even first time voters. So there is some hope there.
Maybe with the current crisis hitting people where they live, small or big, will also
make for more informed voters.
We still only can choose from what we have though and sometimes that feels like slim pickins.
As each party takes control with disappointing results.
Thanks about the biz... it has been a roller coaster ride the last 19 years
for sure. We can just hold on tight, try to stay on the right track and hope the ride

Don't kid yourself... today's kids seem more intuned to politics and national/global affairs than older people. I've talked to a lot of really... well, politically inept older folks who have no clue about politics other than what they get off of FOX News.
Age does not beget knowledge or wisdom... it only begets a day closer to death.

You mean the ones who look to Rachael Maddow to tell them what their opinion is?
They are the flip side of the same, dumb-ass coin.
I would rather have both sides of that dirty penny stay at home on Election Day and duke it out voting for 'American idol', instead. That is more their game.
If I'm going to have someone cancel out my vote... I prefer it be a voter who took the time to think about his ballot, instead of going down the line hitting only Ds or Rs.

not quite. the will to do whatever it is one does (in the case i am refering to...open water swimming 108 miles) comes from a deeper recess into one's soul than the deepest oceans. the lady is 62(ish) years old, she says her brain is as strong or stronger than her body. determination.
knowledge or wisdom, knowledge and wisdom... comes with experiences which comes with age and which comes with failures, successes, time and whatnot. life altering events do happen to the young which gives knowledge and wisdom.

I'm sure now Hank Jr has found much inspiration to write such a LOVELY song to hit #1 on the charts....maybe that was his plan ALL ALONG.
peace

And yes that is what I think too .. perhaps...
crazy like a FOX.... write a song
make an event ...
put a record out
one that speaks to many in this country
Well... color me WTF.
Hail, Hail!!!
I then said I could forgive him.
Nothing you speak of was shared in any pm IT ALL was said here in the thread starting on page 6 till the thread was locked...
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=148775&hilit=domestic+violence&start=75
Peace

*The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite INSANE*....Nikola Tesla(a man who shaped our world of electricity with his futuristic inventions)
but I will answer you
as far as implication implied is not on my part I was asking you
how you felt
yes we spoke at length outside the thread about it our conflict
not sure why I must explain again nothing has changed for me
not sure why you think it would
the abuser situation has nothing to do with forgiveness or tolerance
it would be ridiculous to forgive or tolerate when someone is in eminent danger
I have said this
if someone is being abused they are always in eminent danger
yes I think family members should step in ... even in the case of a stranger, we should help.
I'm sure if you had not been there for your friend you would have wanted someone to jump
in even if violence was the option. Violence is still an option from your words this long after.
That is revenge violence not protection.
Yes I would want my son to use protection violence to save his sister.
Tolerance and forgiveness come to those with regrets in their heart who ask for forgivness
as I have repeated over and over in this thread
like in the late 60's to mid 70's when I was not able to vote.
Hail, Hail!!!
What about heart transplant patients? Do they get the emotions of the donor?
And Artificial Heart recipients? Do artificial hearts lie?
...
Point being... it' the mind that figures out these things, including emotions.
Hail, Hail!!!
a general term for... it is the keeper of the emotions ... a place without logic but just feelings
it is the feeling part of us it is our 'heart and soul'...
that does not lie not coming from the heart.... not to ourselves
Suddenly I'm understanding why I don't understand most of your posts!
My problem is I keep trying to apply logic/reasoning... to no avail.
Hail, Hail!!!
and kindness ... maybe someday you'll get me for both our sakes
or we will accept the fact that you don't or won't and we'll let that just Be.
my hope is to help others, to bring more kindness, respect and love
it is yet to be seen if that is...
to no avail
Reagan's legacy affected a lot of people.
...
P.S. The Cold War was not just your father's war. It was ongoing in your life, too. It was going on til you turned 33.
Hail, Hail!!!
Fair enough. That explains why the things you say make no logical sense to me.
Hail, Hail!!!
hank williams jr. played on the (his stereo) stereo for what seemed like hours. it really was not bad at all. it brought back memories and made me grin. we just sat or stood at the picnic table out under the trees cuttin, choppin and dicin up fresh vegetables all frickin day to the tuneage of ole hank jr. a country boy can survive type a deal.

JB does it karaoke too .. gets his twang going, the little he has after being in the South for 20+
