I've had disagreements with friends...I haven't had one with Michael Franti but I'm sure that day may come. :D I've had disagreements with you such as in the domestic violence scenerio....friends have their disagreements all the time that's what should build and makes friendship better over time.

Hank Jr can have all the fear, disappointment, distrust he wants things I feel and have just the same...just not on network tv or he'll suffer the consequences and in this case he certainly did. No hate intended.

Terrorist is much more than enemy if I get what you are saying ... much much more.
He didn't care whom he played golf with... he was comparing the unlikely partnership
    in my take.

No argument with consequences, as I've said, still think the song should play on.

Disagreement is different than attack though ... I see a lot of attacking.

What are talking about attacking since you seem to be speaking to me or is it somehow my style of disagreement. I disagree with someone you are a fan of NOTHING more. IF I'm I'm attacking Hank Williams Jr please point these out for me.

He paid the consequences for his remarks and ESPN made the call for his remarks and rightfully so.

i don't believe that hank williams jr is conherent enough to provide such a nuanced excuse or clarification of his remarks that pandora was able to do so eloquently. the man can speak for and defend himself. he does not need any of us to make excuses for him or speak for him.

flat out, he called the president his enemy. there is only one way that you can interpret that. he has to deal with the consequences and repercussions of his own words.
I personally think someone should be able to call their President
their enemy without repercussions though ... just saying....
we all might need to be able to do so one day.

It can be called defense and excuses as you put my words, I prefer it be thought of as
an attempt at understanding another human being.

words for some come easy others not so much so especially when out of their element
    as he clearly was

It's now understood....other folks have their opinions just like you or myself have ours. Let me add my main problem I had with this is that he can call the President just about....no he can call him ANYTHING he wants. However he HW Jr is a part of the media per say with his MNF jingle and said what he said on a media outlet Fox Network and that's the problem I have.

If you feel this badly towards the president then say ALL of this and more in private or they will be consequences. if he wasn't part of the media this probably wouldn't be a big deal in the big picture.

Yes well he may feel that way however, when you were paid by a media oulet as large as ESPN you then become part of said outlet whether he feels that way or not.

I applaud Bocephus for speaking his mind, just as I appreciated PJ for speaking their mind about Bush (especially after seeing the PJ20 film's depiction of the band's classy response to the boos from the audience after "Bushleaguer"). Ultimately, though, it doesn't matter to me. Music is music, and politics are politics. If I let politics dictate the music I listen to, I'd listen to nothing but Ted Nugent (eh) and Toby Keith (ugh). :D

So your post was then sarcasm .. the agreed part?
not good with that, I take most words at face value,
if I could see your eyes I would know though.

Personally I'm thinking both sides look incredibly childish.

If you read my other messages... I am an equal opportunity critic. So, please... don't pin a political label on my lapel. I care to wear neither.
I am simply pointing out that people's opinions change based on the subject at hand. They are not objective in their views. I am going to venture to guess that a lot of the very same people who burned Dixie Chicks CDs for their words are probably the same ones who support Hank Williams, Jr. for his.
I was tolerant of the Dixie Chicks and am tolerant of Hank Williams, Jr. (as well as tolerant towards Nazi/KKK speak and Westboro Baptist Church speak) when it comes to Freedom of Speech. They all have the Constitutional right to speak out and even if I am diametrically opposed to their views and/or tactics... I will defend their right to do so.
But, what people need to understand... you may face repercussions for you free speech. The government didn't fire Hank Willians, Jr., ESPN(ABC) did. It was a business decision on their part.

that song has been reworked hundreds of times and to say that it was "dated" is an understatement..

If I were to say in my job "fags should all die", though it's within my legal right to do so, I'd probably be fired.

The fact that this is as big a deal as it is is funny. It was words and an analogy. Pretty stupid choice but still just some words.

I mean, it's not like he put the presidents head on a stick and called him a murderer and a liar.

    GWB WAS a liar.

However, I don't think there was a controversy surrounding the fallout.
