PJ 20 Book - Where's Abbruzzese?

Again, you are projecting YOUR opinion. You don't know how integral he was, you are just guessing, he obviously was an overall NEGATIVE during this time or he wouldn't have been fired!
Bottom line if he wasn't just the drummer I'm sure they would have found a way to make it work. His personal relationship with members of the band obviously got in the way of the music. They made a change and they made it as private as they could. Why cant you accept that? Dave has never publicly said anything negative about the band, I guarantee there are NDAs in place.0 -

I'm not projecting anything. He was integral: period. Listen to the music. Watch the dvds from that era. Musically, Dave was a huge part of it all.
Dave has certainly taken the higher road. He never says anything negative and seems to look back fondly on his time in the band.Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"

You are stating your opinion as fact, like I said before, I can't stand some of the early live stuff because of his damn cymbals... Crash crash crash! They had used THREE drummers for the early music before Dave even got there, he's not a s special as you think he is.0

I'm exaggerating, but when you hear more crashes than actual beat there is a problem.

Dave didnt mesh great with the group, we know he broke a special guitar to Ed and didn't want to take responsibility for it. Probably the last straw, they fired his ass, he probably got a lawyer and sued the group, then a settlement, then NDAs. Get over it, move on like the rest of the group.
Again, he meshed with the group fine, going by quotes in the book. It's clear he didn't get on with Ed, who didn't then and doesn't now wanna look like a baby or asshole or whatever.
I dunno where you get that he didn't wanna take responsibility for the breaking the guitar. He was running around b/c he had to leave early and accidentally knocked it over, but still had to leave. Says it right in the book.
Whether or not anything negative would come from telling more of the Dave story is anybody's guess, but people are still gonna be curious so get over yourself.
I don't care whether they disclose shit either way. I think most fans have a pretty good handle on what happened, anyway.
If you can't hear the impact that he had on Vs. and the live shows at the time, you're deaf. No skin off my back if you dislike the way he drums but he did have a big effect on their sound.0 -

We're going to have to agree to disagree I think. It's all good.
3 drummers or not, Dave recorded VS and Vitalogy with them, and toured with them during those years when they exploded into the biggest band in the world. You are also projecting your dislike of his style into your opinion too. Not liking the cymbal (over)use does not mean he wasn't important.Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"

What's the story behind this special guitar to Ed that he broke? I've been following the band for almost 20 years and never heard this one. Please indulge...Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.0 -

Let's be honest here for a second, the reason PJ exploded into the biggest band in the world at the time is because of Ed, you obviously have to be accomplished to play music at this level but Ed is the main reason they blew up, not because of Dave and his awesome drumming.0 -

Any grudge, I don't see it being on Dave's side. If so, then why would he post a nice reminiscent video like this on his personal youtube page? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qe47yE8uXsI
Their first album was great, which Krusen played on, but their live shows (and illegal bootlegs) are what made them absolute legends, and Abbruzzese was the propellant for their music to be accelerated by. It pushed the Ten material to another level.
Then Vs, with Dave's playing, made their second album the fastest selling album ever in a 5 day period.
I don't think the band sees what he did for the music. I mean, how often did they listen to their own shows after the fact?ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

Anything that Ed is not a part of basically tanks so this argument doesn't hold any water with me.
Three fish
Wellwater conspiracy
Brad
Tres mtns.
The rockfords
All of these have been pretty unsuccessful. I wouldn't call the members in these bands as unimportant.0
