Saw Glen last night at the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow. He was fantastic, on for over 2 1/2 hours and full of craic.

EV got a wee name check when glen said his new uke was from 'the good man Vedder' who told him to go and learn some some on it. He also tagged one of his songs with 'i miss you already' from Smile.

It was a small hall and at the end he invited everyone down to stand in front of the stage while he sang a cover of a Leonard Cohen song.

Him and his band put on a hell of a show and they deserve all the success in the world

I was there as well right down at the front, I had an Eddie t-shirt on and Glen gave me an EV pick very nice of him, fantastic gig

Anybody seeing Glen at the Barbican tonight? Looking forward to it.

I was at that show, really enjoyed it! He told the story about his US tour with EV, where people would think his song "pennies in the fountain" was called "panties in the fountain", and they'd request that...reminded me of my time in Florida as well. And he played song of good hope, which is my fav tune of his, such a great evening. :)

And the gals at Order in the Sound have put up some mini reviews that I've done for each show here:

I haven't listened to it yet but thought to share. :)

Thanks for that. She spends quite a while talking with Glen about Once and his early busking experiences (including being in the Commitments) and then goes on to some Frames history - which is cool - and then about Glen's meeting with Eddie and finally how the solo album came together.

    Good stuff :D

Really good gig on Tuesday night.

Started with The Storm Its Coming.

Rest of the set included (no order)

    You Will Become
    Maybe Not Tonight
    Talking With The Wolves
    High Hope
    Bird Of Sorrow
    Philander
    Song Of Good Hope
    Love Don't Leave Me Waiting
    Come Away To The Water
    This Gift
    Falling Slowly
    When Your Minds Made Up
    Gold
    Leave
    Say it To Me Now
    Low Rising
    Back Broke
    Fitzcarroldo
    Corrina Corrina w/Lost Brothers
    Passing Through

He ended the main set with Song Of Good Hope playing unplugged. He dedicated it to his friend who has been in and out of chemo for the last few years. Really emotional song. There was 3 or 4 songs he'd played with no amps. He brought the merch girl out to sing on This Gift. Before finishing with Passing Through he let the cello player do a song, don't know what it was but it was really good. Very dark, Nick Cave-esque with just the cello and violins and the cello player singing. Ending on Leonard Cohen's Passing Through, Glen got all the band (all 11 of them) to the front of the stage where they all played unplugged. He then led them up the steps of the theatre through the crowd and into the lobby where they continued the performance. Me and the wife where one of the 1st into the lobby and got some great shots, with Glen literally 2ft in front of us singing right at us. Was a fantastic night.
