The show last night was incredible. It was 2 and a half hours and I did not get home until past 3am after taking the train. Work is going to be brutal today! I need to see the setlist posted because honestly I did not know several songs that were played. I even got to meet Glen before the show! As I was waiting to enter the venue he came strolling by with his guitar and we chatted for a bit. Great guy. Have fun to those going to the Beacon.

Totally agree! Great show - such a fun night. And he seemed to be having more fun than anyone. Glen is one of the very few performers that can bring me to the point of tears several times during a show. I loved the Bookstore Cafe gig because it was so intimate and stripped down, and last night was such a different experience and I loved it just as much.
I almost didn't go (stressed with getting myself together before leaving for Prague) but I'm happy I did. Late start, late end; I was past the point of exhaustion when we got home, but it was all worth it. Sad to have to miss tonight's show, but at least I'll see him again at the end of July when he opens for EV.
“I worked really hard on this set. I just told you we’re gonna have a great night, so I don’t need any fuckin’ help from anybody.” EV, 7/2/09
Most of you -- the sane ones -- still are asleep. I know I'm planning a long nap into my day.
So, we thought it was a great concert: lots of songs from the new album, songs from "Once," two Frames songs, "Fitzcarraldo" and "Revelate," "Astral Weeks" (wooo! With a "Smile" tag thrown in; husband and I both reflexively yelled "I miss you always!" for all we were worth.), two songs by The Band, a Bruce song (sorry, I don't know my Springsteen, even though I live in Jersey), "Rhinestone Cowboy," and a minstrel parade out the door and down the street to end the night.
Lisa Hannigan joined him onstage for a few songs.
It was a much more, er, diverse, crowd than we see at PJ show -- about 70% female.
All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.
This is going to be long, only because the show was that good. Last night was absolutely amazing! Glen completely blew me away, even more so than both times I saw him open for Ed last year! Kinda cool that a year, almost to date, after I saw him open at the Beacon Theatre, I got to see him headline there! My friend and I got there about 7:45, so sometime before that, we heard that Glen was in the lobby of the theatre busking along with some local buskers- would have been really cool to see! There's a picture up on his Facebook page of that. Lisa Hannigan was a great opener, she's got one hell of a voice and I suggest checking her out! Got a great reception too, and the venue was one of the fullest I've ever seen for an opener. But Glen- what more can you say?! Absolutely incredible! You can feel every single note and every single word he sings. Loved seeing that full band back him up on a bunch of songs, too! So many highlights, I don't even know where to begin! Off his solo record, Bird of Sorrow and Song of Good Hope gave me and my friend the chills....holy crap. Played two of my favorite Frames songs as well, one after the other no less (Fitzcarraldo and Revelate) so that was incredible to hear. Great Swell Season selection as well. Before Falling Slowly, Glen said, 'I don't normally do this, but it feels right,' and played a stunning solo rendition of the song (although my friend and I couldn't help but thinking 'I wish he was singing with Eddie again!'). Covers were big highlights too. Glen explained a thing they do at Le Poisson Rogue where they have a big band that basically can play anything. He went on to say 'kinda like this band...yell something out!' The band and Glen then went onto play an improv version of Rhinestone Cowboy He also covered Astral Weeks, which made me fall in love with him when I saw him open for Ed. When he tagged Smile (just 'I miss you already, I miss you always), my friend and I gave a loud scream! Glen talked a lot about Levon Helm too, and played The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down and Don't Do It which were both amazing! Also played Drive All Night by Springsteen which was a personal highlight as I just love that song! The end was one for the books too, they covered Passing Through by Leonard Cohen, and at the end of it, paraded down the aisle of the venue, out into the lobby, out the building, around the corner and then back into the venue. So basically it was a Passing Through Parade and I'm sure that we got funny and confused looks from anyone outside who had no idea what was going on! We waited for Glen outside the venue afterwards but he left through a different exit--oh well. Still, an amazing night of amazing music, Glen is the best!

Still in awe of how great that show was last night. There truly is no one like Glen. The range of emotions he brings you along is amazing.
The new songs were great live. Bird of Sorrow wow! High Horses, Astral Weeks, the Frames songs, Drive All Night and the Passin' Thru parade! Too many great moments to list them all.
I was in Starbucks this morning, about to pay for my order, when I saw Glen's face staring at me from their CD rack. I couldn't refuse, so I finally picked up Rhythm and Repose. After and initial listen I can safely say it's pretty darn good and I'm glad I have a ticket to see his show in September.
I haven't found any. I really would like to relive the LPR show but I highly doubt there was a taper in that small veneue. New Yorkers will probably find the Beacon show instead.
I haven't found any either. I'm looking for the Vic show from Chicago. What an incredible and amazing show that was!!! Going to see him again in September in Milwaukee!

Oh, I've d/l'd it, just haven't got round to pick up the record yet. The DL is on my lost laptop, so that's gone anyways. Don't have a computer of my own, nor an ipod at the moment, so it's gonna need to be a record.
Figure there'll be one in the merch stand next Monday or Tuesday, can snag one then. Or a coupla months later when there's another headline London show. It's all good, I'll get it one way or another

Love is the wine (Sh. Muzaffer Ozak Ef.)
Dying for the beacon show to pop up.
This album has been in steady rotation. It's pretty much Rythym & Repose and the new Gaslight for me for the summer in my ears.
I am starting to lose hope, especially for the LPR show since there were fewer people there :(
