What are you expecting him to do at PJ20?

Don't you think you've taken this abit far now? I've only scanned through this thread but this seems to be driven by you having a hatred of Josh Homme & QOTSA. Let it go, if you don't like them don't watch them at PJ20. No-one is forcing you too.

And just to clarify I don't even like QOTSA

Thing is I own two of their albums which I bought after Little Sister came out. After a few listens I realized other than their two popular songs I think the albums kind of stunk. Alot of gibberish and crap. To me they were almost put together like the Fan Club single for PJ...very tongue in cheek type crap to me. Having seen these clips has totally changed my mind of them personaly. I'm just posting these clips for everyone in this community to see and let see what he could bring to the joyous festival. Also, if you read my first post that's exactly what I said about not watching them.

Thats a fair enough view and explained very well. I think the same about them musically. I've not watched any of the clips you've posted but I've always thought Homme was up his own arse anyway.

I did think them being on the PJ20 bill was a surprise but I don't think they will act like that at the festival.

Just to add to the mix, here's Josh Home singing the youtube sensation "What What In The Butt", with the original singer (who I believe is openly gay) http://www.antiquiet.com/news/2010/06/j ... -the-butt/

How can you not like a band that has jammed with Gene Frenkle?

Okay . . . so no one is going to change anyone's mind here, but it would be cool if all of the pieces were put together (strokes, eddie & josh) to recreate this live:

Telling someone you are going to beat the fuck out of them is quite different than what came out of that Josh Hommes mouth. I didn't hear Eddie calling him a faxxot or coxxsucker. I didnn't hear him tell him to eat a bag of dixxs. And I certainly didn't hear him tell the fan he was going to buttfuxx him.

Nobody else is cracking up at this censorship?

dixxs = dicks? It's pretty much the same word phonetically! What's the point?

You just typed out fuck early in the post, and bullshit in another post uncensored, then go off and type buttfuxx. Again, phonetically the same word. Great use of censorship! It's like the audible button pusher beeping out mother and just leaving the fucker part alone. This is pure comedy, my friend.

What I envision is they play a couple of songs...start addressing the crowd...someone yells out Pearl Jam...and the someone yells out EDDIE!!!...the band continues with the set. A few more songs get played...Josh starts to say something between songs..again another fan shouts we want Pearl Jam (and we know this happens since even Eddie can't stop the yelling at his own solo concerts except he's mature enough to handle it)...Josh goes into his rant about how he owns the stage and then the insults start and his egotistical homophobic childish antics start. I think he's a very bad choice to be representing at PJ20. Just my opnion.

QOTSA are on the bill for two reasons: they're good friends with PJ (at least Josh is, do you guys not read Deep?)......and because they're a very good band.

There are a lot of incidents like this on youtube.....He berated some kid here in Edmonton at their last show, and turned the rant into a pretty cool intro to a song (can't remember which one). I actualy remember reading somewhere online after that incident that some of these incidents are staged (on pitchfork I think?)...reading his statement, this incident obviously was not set up...

Have any of you seen him interviewed? The guy is a clown, and a very entertaining one...he's always taking shots at other artists, fans, record companies, whomever he feels like takin shots at. I'd prefer this over a lot of the recycled crap you hear some artist spewing....most interviews are so PC that they sound more like regimented, cliche sports interviews than something an artist might say (from the heart).

This is Josh's trademark 'thing'...he's been doing it pretty consistently, for years. It gets the crowd fired up, provides a 'different' way of introducing songs etc..maybe you guys should be asking Mudhoney to dedicate Into Yer Schtick to him?
I agree that there is a concern that some super-fan takes it upon himself to defend Josh's honour, and someone ends up hurt.

When you're daydreaming about disastrous scenarios at concerts you plan to attend, it might be time to talk to someone.

I've seen both bands together before (Rock Werchter 2007) and I know that QOTSA and PJ both respect eachother. I don't see any of your FORECASTING happening. Unlike all of you, I've spent some good time with Josh and he has never been anything but sweet to me. I’ve seen other girls go nuts over him up close and even lots of guys that have man crushes on him…….nothing but good to them.

If you don’t want to see them at PJ20, feel free to leave your seats, makes more room for us fans! Thank You!
