If Josh is such a prick And his music sucks then why did Stone sign him after Josh was done with The Screaming Trees? Stone is partially responsible for QOTSA. Their music is good very good IMO. He's one of hell of a guitar player. I hope Mike joins him on stage for a jam session. I've only seen them live once and it was a killer show. Someone handed him a Twilight book out of the crowd he read part of it on stage. They didn't throw it at him. He thanked the person and started to read it was pretty funny. And he could only ruin the festival if you let him. If you don't like him don't watch their set it's that easy. But you don't know what you will be missing.

You saved your fifth and sixth post for this. Some guy throws something on stage (which is very wrong) and you berate the kid in front of 15k-20k fans...and the kid is very small to boot...you call him a faxxot and tell him your going to fuxx him up th a55 while you march him toward the stage? All that while your standing on stage with a big guitar in hand and all of the house security on your side? Yeah, Josh is one badass? :(
You don't get it. This kid attacked him, by throwing something at him. No one enjoys having things thrown at them. This kid was being a little prick. When you are a musician it's your job to get out there and entertain people, it's more hard work than you think it is to get up on stage every night and play infront thousands of people. Josh although a little over the top, gave that kid what he had coming to him. If you noticed the security escorted the kid away from the crowd, and hopefully kicked him out of the concert. If you pay big money to see a band play, don't fucking throw shit at them, or expect to get told off. The fact that you are trying to shun Josh/QOTSA by giving these self righteous responses which are just expressing your opinion that is "wah wah Josh Holmes is a meanie and a bully, and I'm going to boycott watching them because I think that telling someone off for attacking you is wrong". I'm not trying to personally attack you, I just think you should look at this from a more sensible approach.

Here here what he said. I think Ed has reacted similarly to such incidents over the years, Indio 93 (shoes) and Boston 98 (quarters) spring to mind. I can think of other incidents too but couldn't quote shows, dates etc off the top of my head. I don't condone homophobia though, but in the spare of the moment people use these words, it doesn't mean they're homophobic.
    My PJ shows:

I guess many people on here didn't see that episode of South Park with the bikers who ride the big loud motorcycles?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_F_Word_(South_Park)

I just can't believe that this sort of issue shows up on someone's radar. Who has the time to worry about such things? Maybe it's because I'm a conservative and just view people as people. I think people should be judged by the content of their character and their work ethic, not by what special interest group they identify with. It's just funny that so many people think that the Democrats are trying to help, when they are actually just causing more hate. But it is just what the majority on this board have been brainwashed to believe.

Don't fall for the identity politics of the left. They want to tell you that you are different, and then try to buy your vote. If you let them put you in a group, hateful words can be directed towards that group. It's just that simple.

    That was a great episode.

However, in this instance, it was Josh who singled out the kid, put him in a group, and alienated him from the rest of the concertgoers. The kid may not have been offended by the name calling, except now he put the kid in danger. Someone sees him, he's the guy that the lead singer of the band yelled at, flung slurs at, maybe they think it's ok to kick his ass. Or maybe they think it's ok to yell slurs at other people.

I saw QOTSA in March and they were fantastic. You will be missing out on some great music if you choose not to listen but you are allowed to make your own choices. I for one will be catching every minute of these guys both nights and rocking out.

What does "birds of a feather" mean? I am completely lost on this. Phish has a song called "Birds of a feather" and it is one of my fav tunes by them.

I just watched all the vids and I thought it was all a bit much. I agree an artist has a right to say what he wants too on stage, but I thought that dude went over the top. It was a little disturbing and can only imagine that being a show killer.

Telling someone you are going to beat the fuck out of them is quite different than what came out of that Josh Hommes mouth. I didn't hear Eddie calling him a faxxot or coxxsucker. I didnn't hear him tell him to eat a bag of dixxs. And I certainly didn't hear him tell the fan he was going to buttfuxx him.

Nobody else is cracking up at this censorship?

dixxs = dicks? It's pretty much the same word phonetically! What's the point?

You just typed out fuck early in the post, and bullshit in another post uncensored, then go off and type buttfuxx. Again, phonetically the same word. Great use of censorship! It's like the audible button pusher beeping out mother and just leaving the fucker part alone. This is pure comedy, my friend.

Birds of a feather, means they are the same bird.

In human terms it could mean "people who are alike". So basically birds of the same type stick together. For example you don't see a robin flying south in the geese V formation.

    Two things about QOTSA:

    1. they were utter torture when I saw them live with RATM at Alpine Valley, but
    2. I saw one of the current members do a song on Tosh.0 and it was pretty funny.

So I hate their music, but the current lineup seems comprised of OK guys. Also, given how politically left RATM and PJ are, I'd be EXTREMELY surprised if QOTSA were a "political band" with views at odds with RATM/PJ. Let's be honest, if you're Zach De La Rocha, are you going to share a stage with Ted Nugent?

I can't speak to what this guy did with the stand-off or what his views are. And while I definitely don't enjoy QOTSA's music, I think its unfair to imply that they're homophobic as a band. That much is pretty unlikely and probably untrue.

Oh and by the way, it doesn't matter how you use words like "faggot"; its hateful, homophobic and if call someone that, you're a bigot. Period. It makes no difference if you were calling them "gay" or a "fag" because you don't like them or because you hate GLBT people. Its hateful bigotry.

Just wanted to clear that up.
