I'm loving the new station. I gave up on q101 years ago. I got tired of hearing the same top 10 90s songs over and over again. I'm glad they finally started playing decent new stuff. I need new music and q101 wasn't doing that.

Really liking 87.7. Don't get it on the old ass radio in my old ass car, but it comes in in my fiance's car. Heard "Say Hello 2 Heaven" the other day....that was a very nice surprise.
Yeah, but they play stuff that's really out there, not exactly "alternative"...I think I heard a Jamaican song on there the other day... :?
Alternative music is music that is an alternative to mainstream.
As far as I know, Jamaican music isn't exactly mainstream..
There are exceptions where alternative artists cross over to a mainstream audience, but in general, alternative music has no real genre and is about the art rather than style.
OK, first off, to anyone who has issues with XRT playing Steve Earle (at least I'm assuming that's what "copper head road" is referring to): they've been playing shit like that since forever.
Anyway, here's the reason I'm posting this. the #4 preset in one of our cars used to be Q101. It was switched over to 87.7, but sometimes when you press it, it still flips to 101.1. It's like the radio is haunted by the ghost of Q101.
What did they think was going to happen?! And "It promises to play such throwbacks as Alanis Morissette, Britney Spears and ’N Sync." :fp: :fp: :fp: This is gonna be even worse!!
Idiots!

You can still listen to Q101 online, there's just no DJs:

I also think they're broadcasting Q101 on 1530 AM, but I haven't tried listening to that yet.
copper head road?
twain?
Yeah I've been noticing some weird shit going on over there. Stupid Chicago market is the worst.
I miss Q101 like crazy. It's just not the same now.
you've found 87.7 right?

they play marley alll the time.
i'm cool with that....just not digging the country stuff they have slipped in.
Read that yesterday and was so angry I wanted to punch something...they should have just left Q101 alone...
Sure does! Thank goodness for 87.7!
