Well I like q101 quite a bit. I grew up listening to it and have been listening to it since Jr. high. I'm really going to miss it. It still plays a lot of the music I grew up with, lots of '90's alternative including PJ of course. It is the one terrestrial radio station I still listen to. Last letter game so long. Seriously I am really bummed out

While it is great to hear a lot of the 90s alternative music we grew up on played on Q101, all of the new music they play is pretty awful. They should have just went to an all 90s format...

Check out WFUV online - it's a NYC Station though as a former Chicagoite its pretty awesome. Eclectic.

Hopefully WXRT will remain - its rather a Chicago Institution. There's always Loyola's Station - when ya can get it tuned in - can't remember the numbers. Sorry for the Q101 loss ...

Wow most of what they're playing today are gems! Maybe if they had stuck with this kind of stuff all the time instead of playing Disturbed all the time they wouldn't be going away. Still a bummer though, i was a huge fan in the '90s. Kind of leaves a huge gap in the market...

Yeah, it has been pretty nice the last few days with them playing mostly classic stuff. I said earlier in this thread they should have just made it an all 90s station. Like you said...hearing the new Disturbed or Avenged Sevenfold song just doesn't do it for most people. It still does suck though...Q101 is the reason that I got so into music when I was 13-14. Crazy.

i was listening yesterday on the way in and it sounded like something new was in the works.

i read last week that they were bleeding money pretty bad. the former owner is going to take a bath on these stations based on what they bought them for and what they are selling them for.

I'm listening to the last Last Letter Game right now. This is so incredibly sad. :(
And yeah, the last few days have been amazing. I'm going to miss Q101 so much.

I hope another similar station pops up like they did a few years ago when krock bit the dust
