All and all looks like a pretty lame "riot".. they should call it a mild social disturbance..

Chicago, LA, Detroit.. those are riots..

At first it looked like some people just milling around, then I saw some violence break out, but the camera moved away for some reason. There are some people acting like jackasses out there, but it doesn't look like '94. Or at least not yet. There was a fire out on the street earlier, I haven't seen that scene on this footage yet though.

Edit: Now they're showing the fire scene

Oh shit, they just fired something straight into that crowd, they moved their asses in a hurry. I don't think it was tear gas, they fired it at them point blank.

Not the hockey fans who are causing the disturbance...if you look, none of them are wearing any jerseys, at least that I could see. Trust the US media to blow it out of proportion...Seattle has had it's fair share of riots (this would be vancouver's 2nd)...it's only happening in a couple of blocks of the city and now the riot police have moved in and all mayhem is breaking out. Tear gas has been fired into the crowds...yeah, a core group of trouble makers, not necessarily Canuck fans...I see some Jersey's now (on the CBC coverage) but they don't seem to be doing anything but standing around...It's more chaos than a riot....mob mentality... :(

It's not the mayhem of 1994...

Well I saw two guys in Vancouver jerseys throwing tree limbs on that fire at the parking garage. And you can't blame the U.S. media for it, I was just reading about it on CBC.ca

Damn it is getting serious, looks like a warzone with the burning buildings and cars being attacked.
I feel for the car owners.

They got cops coming in from nearby towns now to help. Their behavior is disgraceful.

From the way the crowds are reacting, you would think it was the Boston Police. I'm sure those cops are bummed too, this is a double bummer for them.

The news now reported a Bruin fan just got beaten up...I don't know about anyone else, in a situation like that I would not have advertise myself a Bruin fan...but thats just me, I'd rather gloat injury free at a later date.

Maybe he had a jersey on. What should he have done, thrown it in the trash and tried to get out of there shirtless? Blame the people that beat on him, not him.

I'd have brought a Canucks jersey and put it over my Bruins jersey after the game hehe

  • I sure as shit wouldn't have worn a Bruins jersey in that crowd. Not his fault for getting beat but use your head sometimes.
