edited September 2011 in The Porch
Ok, peeps, hopefully we can use this as the roll call / other Vancouver discussion thread. If people will post up their 10C numbers, I will update this post. I'll start... cuz y'all be sittin' in front of me!

Can someone tell us what the venue is like? I am familiar with the other Canada venues but not Pacific. Looking forward to meeting some new people at the pre-party and show!

    Hey Zebra,
I think you will really enjoy it. Its small compared to other arenas. I really like it.
    Enjoy.

the building was made in the late 60s and the canucks played there from their inception to 95.

i have a lot of fond memories of concerts there...from my first concert (Corey Hart in 86) to PJ in 98.

the great part of this building is the entrance for performers is in the back so you can get quite close to the band before and after the shows...

    281xxx here.

So looking forward to it. The 2009 show in Vancouver was amazing, my best concert experience ever.

Colissuem is nice, but there are pockets with bad sound (based on experiences about 5 years ago). But saw a great Chili Peppers show there.

    See y'all soon.

(sadly, you will all have better seats than me, having allowed my previous number to expire...)

The Coliseum is good, smaller, for sure better sound than BC Place, better atmosphere than the former GM Place - though yes, GM is far more convenient to downtown.

Yeah except its a big concrete block with a terrible in house sound system and acoustics.

Everything has better sound then BC Place.

This is true, the first time I saw PJ was at BC Place, with Blind Melon and Neil Young. I remember we had no idea that it was Blind Melon on stage because the sound was so bad we couldn't recognize any of the songs. Though my firm is renovating Stadium and putting the new roof on, once it's done the sound will be (somewhat) better and the atmosphere will be really cool.

    I am going too.... 436XXX :)

I do have a dilemma though. In my concern that there would be a problem with the 10c pre-sale again, I went ahead and hedged my bets and bought some tickets from the radio pre-sale, just in case. Of course, the 10c pre-sale with TM went 110% smoothly (it was GREAT!) and now I have two sets of tickets to the same show. (Actually I bought a single to the show as well -- so I have 5 tickets now). There is a 50/50 chance I may be going myself to this concert. But I could also possibly scrounge more than 2 to go too. However, if I were to sell some tickets (at cost or just below -- no profit), how would you work it? Here is my situation:

    1 ticket - Section Y, Row 7
    2 tickets - Section A, Row 15
    2 tickets - Unknown via 10c

Are my Section Y and/or Section A good seats -- good enough to keep them over the 10c tickets? Or will my 10c most likely be better?

10c usually are the best seats, however, there are exceptions. Not knowing the venue that well I can't say. I can say you won't have any trouble selling any extras you may have. The preparty put on by the Wishlist Foundation is a great place to do that. :)
