Are the changes correct so that we can proceed with Version 1?

    -New 'Smile': Portugal 2?

    -In My Tree: Hartford

-Up volume on I'm Open and put back the last 10-15 seconds

Somebody get me this info soon and I can send out V1. I would like to be able to shoot this out tonight. Next to days are way too busy for me, so the more I can do now the better.

PS. I am not keen on Barcelona 'Smile'. We have Been there, done that (ATS: NC Live). :D

    Re : Smile
I'd say change it to the Portugal 2 version and we'll figure from there. Anyway, the alternative is that of the Rough Draft (I guess :? ), so that'll make for an easy comparison (flow / SQ).

I hate to be an asshole, but I think that at least Myra will agree with what I am about to say:

I fail to see how the Portugal 2 'Smile' is better than what we had on the 'rough draft'. SQ is sub par to what we had. This version is no good.

At this point it's my opinion that we use either what we have or go with London 2. Right now it's my opinion that we try London 2 in the mix and see how it sounds with the rest of the compilation.

I personally do not mind if we load this project up with Hartford tracks. I mean we loaded the Vs. project up with Atlanta and everybody seemed to love that.

I wish we could use more shows but there's only so much diversity we can afford with this project anyway ...
  • Great! We finally picked an "In My Tree" - I'm happy :D Just had to get the Berlin one out, fast

I see that Smile is still causing a fuss - we could always keep the one we had and just lessen the volume slightly? Or there was a Portugal ?/Spanish one - not the one that's already used as the holiday single

I still love the bonus section - It's really really grown on me. the version of Leaving Here is killer :D

Great, I got it! Looks like you guys made good progress last night.

I apologise for the Portugal Smile choice - I had really just settled on Bareclona, until I learned about the fanclub single thing, and then was clutching at straws a bit.

I am going to listen to v1 on my headphones using my favourite mp3 player which I've used for all the projects - up til now I've just been listening to no code on speakers, and the sq isn't always so apparent.

Will have a listen and report back!

    listened to Version 1

Loving this alot. surprised at how well Wembly smile fitted in. That boot oversll isn't great, but Smile has enough simplicity for everything to come through in the mix.

Really pleased with how well this project has turned out.

Thanks Dan for having this vision, and working so hard with all the suggestions and all the 'going round in circles.' I only suggested perfromances for the last few projects, but it's been great fun, sharing our love for Pearl Jam live!

I listened all through V1 with a 'fresh pair of ears' and I really enjoyed it. I thought the Hartford In My Tree sounded great, and the London Smile was fine - even though the SQ is still a bit below those of the other tracks. Overall I thought the SQ on this collection was surprisingly high - much better than I'd expected with my headphones on, and especially up to Red Mosquito seemed as good as any of our non official bootleg projects. My energy was flagging a bit from Red Mosquito onwards, and I didn't entirely enjoy I'm Open - the bass or bass drum or something was throbbing quite a bit - maybe as a result of the volume hike. It was all fine though, and overall I thought sounds a very strong project. I still have mixed feelings about the bonus track section - I enjoyed everything that was there, but if I had to put my finger on what was missing I would say that ideally I would have liked something else right after Roadhouse Blues, before ending with Leaving Here.

So overall - really pleased, really enjoyed it and thought it sounded great throughout really, with some excellent choices improving this version a lot. My two personal things I would say which would bring a complete listening experience as we head towards the finish are - keeping an eye on the SQ of I'm Open - (is this the best section to use? Does the volume need to be hiked so much?), and is there anything we could add to the bonus section to finish on more of a high? (there may not be)

    A great great listen though!

Your welcome and thank you for all of your great suggestions.

I thought that you guys wanted the volume raised on "I'm Open". As for the section used, yes I think it is the best section and I can't imagine changing it. I really thought the volume to "I'm Open" sounded just fine and is now even with the surrounding songs.

As for adding anything to the bonus section.....

No, I am against that. Just not much out there to add and I think that it is great the way it is.

Fair enough, I've nothing much to add then. I thought it sounded great overall but fell a bit short for me towards the end - if other people are happy with the ending then that's good.

Tremors, What would you add to the end?

I was under the impression that everybody was cool with the ending (bonus tracks), or either had resigned themselves to the fact that there is not much out there.

As for the volume on "I'm Open" is it a problem for anybody else? It seems to be too loud for Tremors, but just right for me. Do we need to go back to the 'Rough Draft' version or is this version fine, or is neither fine?

    Thoughts/Opinions?

I don't know really - if there was anything to add - it was just an 'ideal world' scenario really.

I don't feel my judgement when it comes to things Pearl Jam is the best currently - and I don't feel I've been able to contribute to the project as well as usual, mainly because I've been super busy with work, and it's been quite stressful, so I've been a bit distracted all week.

So, I'm sorry, and I also don't want you changing the project around on my account if everyone else is happy with it.

I really enjoyed hearing the No Code Live this morning - it was a great tonic! So if nobody else has any problems with the ending then it's no doubt best to leave it as it is.

I thought I'm Open on version 1 was the right volume, and rough draft was a little too quiet
