Tim Duncan wasn't hurt tonight. He merely took a day off from the daunting post-lockout grind to rest his bones, and his Spurs beat the Sixers anyway, 93-76. The ESPN.com boxscore says "DNP-REST." The NBA's, pictured above, wasn't so politically correct. "DND-OLD." Poor, poor, old Tim Duncan. He turns 36 in a month.

must have been the case. you guys played well for 3qtrs then stopped playing team basketball and starting chucking shots

what was with all the fouling and time outs in the last couple of minuts. game was over.

honestly ... i missed the game ... all i can say is that the team has barely been blown out all season and has way too many wins ... we've played tough against all the playoff teams ... many games without our best player and a lineup of scrubs ...

i really like the foundation of this team ... with valunciunas coming in and hopefully a top 5-7 pick in this year's draft (plus 2 second rounders we might be able to move up in the first round or get another one) ... we should be solid the next few seasons ... basketball is fleeting ... some decent talent combined with solid role players and a good coach and you can compete ...

yikes ... Raps had to intentionally miss 2 FT's and to not box Deng out to make sure you guys won ...

DC - are you hating on the thunder now that they have fisher?

    I am.

Not really, but I just shake my head and laugh at Fisher requesting a buy-out.

Sounds like the dude can't swallow the idea of playing for a team who isn't a title contender.
I completely agree, what a way for the president of the players union to act. I have lost a ton of respect for Fisher.

I'll be honest, I kind of lost respect for Fisher with the whole Utah ordeal. I sympathized for his daughter, and I would never partake in the low taunting that some Utah fans did with covering their eye and stuff, but I didn't buy his reasoning, and I do believe that he just wanted to play in a Laker uniform again. He really does set a shining example as the president of the players union.

The line "go to a city that will be accomodate her needs" seemed a little funny. We have some pretty well regarded cancer facilities here in Utah with specialists for particular types of cancer, not sure why those wouldn't have accomodated for his daughter's situation. I somewhat translate that to "somewhere with a more certain chance of a championship."

I could be very wrong in questioning his intentions, and I have no reservations against doing what's best for his daughter... all I'm saying is things didn't quite stack up right.

There are guys who dunk, then there are legends http://sonicsgate.org/

i totally agree with mr. kemp here. i've always felts griffin's dunks aren't even really dunks because he barely touches the rim. even the really nasty ones that everyone hypes up.

kemp used to nearly tear the rim off every time he drove the lane.

I know you're not a baseball guy, but fisher's explanation was akin to that of a baseball pitcher named mike hampton - he signed a $121M contract with the rockies and said the determining factor was the denver school system

You're right, the medical facilities could of treated his daughter there. I think she just wanted to be in familiar surroundings while going through such a traumatic experience, which is understandable. All I can say is that showed a lot of class on Utah's part by allowing Fisher to return to the Lakers.

    Very understandable.

Class on the ownerships behalf, lack of class by some fans with their cover-one-eye taunts. :(

Even Larry Miller himself said before he died that he thought "it did look a bit funny" the way things turned out, but he didn't believe that Fisher or Buss would do anything underhanded. http://www.webcitation.org/61jEYpXu6

I agree that there are few dunkers as intense as Kemp, but he invented the "throw down" dunk, where he would go up like he was gonna tear the rim down and then slam it down with little to no contact with the rim.

His best in game dunk to me...in the Finals when he spun baseline on Rodman and reversed it on the opposite side and proceeded to crotch-face Rodman.

One of the classiest guys in the league. How he hasn't asked for a trade from that mess in Phoenix is beyond me. Their owner Sarver is terrible. He's 38, but with the way he takes care of his body he has a few years left in him. That's the type of guy you would love to see get a ring.

He recently said he is open to hearing the Heat try to recruit him this summer. Whether he signs with them or not is to be seen, but he's done with Phoenix. They've made some poor efforts to build a winning squad around him.

I'm going to bet that Odom goes back to his beloved Lakers or doesn't play again.

I'm also willing to bet that if OKC doesn't win it all this year, Fisher (being the sportsman that he is) signs back with the Lakers (or the next projected title winner) in one last pathetic attempt to get another ring on his crypt-keeper fingers.

True to form to LA and Hollywood, the Lakers do have some characters.

HAHA I know...but this is what bitterness over Odom's stay in Dallas has done to me.
