I loved Shaq during his playing days, but I wish he would shut up about Howard. He sounds like a jaded old fogy. Howard's the best big man in the game and Shaq sounds dumb saying anything else, especially when he's flipflopped about 50x on it. Yeah, Howard's not a patch on Shaq or other great big men of the past but the game has changed alot from those days. With the way the game is now, Howard needs to develop a much broader offensive game.

Shaq is an NBA analyst and was doing his job in evaluating centers in the league. Howard is just a crybaby. I hope he never wins a title.

Analysts aren't supposed to be biased and it's pretty clear Shaq has an axe to grind with Howard. If he wants to be taken seriously, he shouldn't be calling anybody besides Howard the best big man. I agree Howard is a total lame ass and I too hope he never wins a title but I don't let that sway my opinion on the quality of his game.

True. Unfortunately, there aren't many analysts that aren't biased. I can see why Shaw has an axe to grind w/ Howard.....Howard follos his exact same career path and goes to the Lakers from the Magic and calls himself Superman. Come on Dwight...be original! Howard is prob the best big man in the game....the thing that kills me about him is when you watch him play it seems like he should be able to score 50 points and have 25 boards per game. No one in this league can shut him down.

yeah ... this is my feeling too ... and i think shaq is a horrible "analyst" ... he's great at promoting himself but he sucks as an analyst and he talks way too much shit about players ...

after lebron got his title ... i kinda feel like everyone should get one so it would diminish his ...:lol:

that was an awesome basketball play on both ends ... the block on turiaf was sick ... better than the dunk in my opinion ... then running back to break up the outlet was pretty good too ...

liking this jazz team ... hayward, jefferson, milsap, kanter and favours ... hopefuly mo williams can lead this team ...

Even in preseason, this Jazz team looks a lot more promising than the squad last year. Great moves by management in my opinion. Foye, Marvin, and Mo were great pick ups and will work well in the Jazz's system. Watching last night, one thing I've already noticed is that the Jazz aren't taking as long to get into their offense. They are pushign the ball and keeping the tempo up.

I really see a lot of players accepting their roles for the greater good of the TEAM, and I love that mindset. Kanter is primed for a big season, and I can't wait to watch it unfold. In addition to him, Carroll, Burks, and Hayward are showing improvements. Honestly, if Hayward could drop more of his open shots, he'd be more deadly than he already can be. He has great defensive efforts, but sometimes I notice him still getting intimidated in his moments to make something happen on the offense. BUT, he gets to the foul line, and that will help you win games.

Kanter and Favors need more playing time, nothing more to it. Al and Paul are talents, but let's face it, both of them are worthy trade assets and will most likely be moved before their contracts expire. Why on earth would the Jazz attempt to resign both of them and maintain this log jam of 4 productive bigs, all wanting and deserving quality minutes.

Corbin's finally got a bright season on his hands, and his team is the deepest it's been since he took the reigns. Lots of rotations to play with, lots of hard working talent on the bench to back up the starters on their off nights.

    Fuck yeah, Utah Jazz.

I'd start a Jazz thread, but honestly it would probably be just me ranting and you trolling.

Way too early to say if they will make it or not. But the Jazz snuck into the playoffs last year with a damn good run of wins to close out the season. Just looking at their depth chart, they've improved since last season. No reason they can't make the first round, and maybe even advance to the 2nd this season. However in recent playoff appearances, the Jazz have had this bad stroke of luck and have met teams early that simply out play them in the playoffs.

The top teams ion the West are pretty much the same. I think the Western wild card is the Wolves, who have upgraded (for the better is to be seen), but they are risking health issues. Rubio with no solid return time frame, and Love now out with a broken hand. Then you've got Brandon Roy (wish him the best) and Kirilenko. Health is a focus for Minnesota, imo.

Yeah, I like this ranking. There's a lot of competition in the West. The only team I wouldn't be surprised to see drop is Memphis. But I have high hopes/expectations for the Lakers, Clippers, Thunder, Spurs and Nuggest like you've said. I think they're the stronger Western teams. I see the 8th going to either the Wolves or Warriors.

pretty much the top 6 i agree with. not sure i would put MN in. just about any of the other teams outside of new orleans and phoenix could claim the last two spots.

it depends on how long love is out for and if rubio comes back on time ... i am anticipating they will return early or on schedule at the very worst ...
