Tracer wrote:Can we all agree that the problem isn't all on 10C side of things? I've only experienced the occasional hiccup when it comes to getting tickets, and the tickets I try for are always in the high-population red zone.
Today we've seen people not realize the ticketing was staggered and dealing with what's being labeled as 'website issues' that could easily be prescribed to bad connections or shoddy computers.
It's not a perfect system, but not all the blame should be ascribed to 10C.
Huh? The message board freezing, the site freezing, and people getting a message that tickets have been "removed" from our carts are all due to "bad connections or shoddy computers?"Funny how this is the only web site that seems to crash on all of these "shoddy computers." I guess the server didn't like our computers so decided to remove the tickets from our carts.

I guess it's easy for me to say because I wasn't one of the ones fighting for tickets today but honestly I love 10c. I don't care if my holiday single comes in june, I dont care if I get Deep late in the year - whatever, the point is I get them and when I come home from work and check the mail and there is pearl jam presents in there its a freaking fabulous day!
Ps: my view my change if I miss out on pj20 and canadian dates, hee hee j/k"Well I guess there's nothing wrong with what you say, but don't sell me there can't be better ways" ~ PJ0 -
My favorite part of the tour process - the swift and thunderous arrival of the 10C Apologists after completely pissing all over their paying customers yet again. Yes customers, because no matter what you guys think, 10C is a business.
Yes nothing is promised and nothing is guaranteed but you would think that they could at least present a process where tickets go on sale, luck dictates whether you get through and check out in time, but within minutes you know either way and can go on with your day.
Tix dropping out of carts and nebulous messages like tickets are restricted is bullshit.
Please carryon telling us how lucky we all are spending thousands of dollars every year with this band and how 10C shouldn't be held accountable for anything because they are doing gods work on our behalf.
10C management - do yourself a favor and go talk to the people who ran the Grateful Dead fan club. They were able to get tickets to you through us mail and never screwed up - if they did, they made it right without questions."Hey, listen asshole, one more fucker throws a fuckin' quarter up here and we're outta here, I'm tellin' ya, FUCKER! What the fuck, you're blowin' it for fuckin' everybody. Hit me with a fuckin' quarter again and, fuck it, I'm outta here. We're all outta here. Fuck you, and if anyone sees someone throw fuckin' change right next to them, you have my permission to beat the fuckin' holy shit outta them."0 -

Wait... are you saying that The Post Office is faster than this website?
...
Also... I don't know what you are paying, but, I'm paying, what... 40 bucks (that starts this September). The first fees were 5 bucks and stayed that way for a while. I'm figuring I would have to be in the Fan Club for about 172 years (give or take a couple) to get to $1,000.00.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Excellent first post. Welcome aboard!0 -
I'm not touching the ticket issue since Mr. Vedder decided to not come within an eight hour drive of me, but I had to comment on the complaint regarding the annual single. This is one thing the 10C has nothing to do with. It's always late because the band is either deciding on songs and/or artwork. The 10C has no control over when they get the finished product.0

man... is this what i look like when i miss out on something?
it's weird being on the outside looking in :?
i'm sure i'd be in the same boat as a lot of you if i had tried... sorry gang... life sucks0 -
I like DMB WH set up. Put in a request for tickets, find out before public sale if you got them. Simple as that. No frantic refreshing and crashing. The frustration is just so unnecessary.Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!0

Why can't the guy have an outlet to get his frustrations out? He's got some valid points. The 10C members shouldn't have to be penalized for preordering a set of CD's and what not that they've most likely already purchased. The least they 10C could do is get it to you the day of the release...
You've never gotten the XMas single in time for Xmas.
It's very difficult to get tickets through the 10C. Can't argue that.
Let the guy vent. He's got the right.
It's great when fellow members tell Hopper to quit the 10C if he doesn't like the way they operate. If you don't like what Hopper posts, don't post in his thread or post a thread why you love getting your preorder CD after the rest of the world. Or how you like paying more than the rest of the world.

My buddy is in the Warehouse and seems to get an awful lot of lawn tix through their random lottery. No thanks.0 -
I lost today and I accept that. I think the c**kpunch many of us feel is from being over-promised and under delivered to...Seeing the "Buy" button and then clicking it to get an "out of stock" message...Or to actually have the tickets in your cart twice only to have them disappear.... these problems/complaints wouldn't happen if it weren't for perception. I would have loved to tape the reaction of everyone missing out on tickets after seemingly getting them (including myself). You have to laugh. Seriously.
I've had no probs getting tickets until today and no probs with 10C except for getting in late to the Gorge show that one time because of a long fan club line up on the 115 degree day and even then it was no big deal...and also that time when...ha, I kid, i kid.
Anyway, I'm moving forward. It's the only way. My advice to 10C: Don't let me think I have something when I don't have it. Basically: I'd rather get rejected outright then think she might be interested in me.
godspeed y'all and thank the spirits for Ticketmaster as I get a 2nd chance! See you at the races!!!!

You can request what seats you want. If you put you will take anything, that's what you will get. I have always asked for a seat and have gotten great seats every time.Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!0 -

Waaah, I sent my postcard in to get tickets via US mail just like everybody else, and didn't get tickets.
How come that other guy got tickets but I didn't.
I've been in the 10 club x amount of years.

1. I have been a loyal fan since '91 when Ten was underground
on the East Coast
2. They took Ticketmaster to court for bureaucratic BS
3. The ten club server couldn't handle the traffic last year
4. After 2.5 hours, we finally were able to buy tickets to one of the nights at MSG
5. Total denial after more than 2 hours today
6. Ten club tickets were immediately posted for sale on secondary websites
7. This contradicts what I thought was PJ's philosophy...0 -

I do think the server always crashing when tickets go onsale is unfortunate. It seems like it happens every single time tickets go on sale. Is there any kind of a server that could handle the volume? Could the 10c upgrade? I can't imagine how many angry e-mails they've gotten today; I feel sorry for Santos and the gang.
The only show I was really, truly upset about getting shut out of was the Vic...that theater is 2 miles away from me, and I couldn't get in. I was shut out of the Vic as well as today. However with the Vic show, I never had tickets in my cart and entered my cc info. only to be denied. Also for the Vic show I was expecting not to get tickets due to the size of the venue and rare show that it was(small theatre warm-up show for Lolla). Everyone in the country was trying to get tix to that show. Today I thought I would only be up against fans from Chicago area, since of the shows in Det., Stl., Msp.I am lost, I'm no guide, but I'm by your side06.27.98 Alpine Valley

The DMB WH method is certainly better than the Ten Club's ticketing procedure.
The overwhelming majority of 10 Club members realize that a 10C membership doesn't guarantee tickets. Losing out on securing pre-sale tickets would not rile people up as much as it has for the last few years if they didn't feel like their time was wasted or they had gotten screwed. It's the frustration and time-consuming ordeal that ordering tickets via this website has taken on that most people have a problem with.
.... "why enhance the servers for a few days a year at an extra cost to the 10C " ? ...... a very simple response : because that's what your loyal, paying customers have requested over and over again.
Have a great night.0
