Did you see that there are venues that have 30, 40 tickets left??? There is a bunch of scalpers between us and no matter how many tickets the 10C puts out, the scalpers will get a big percentage of these tickets.
I HIGHLY doubt that these are 10C tickets. These are more likely tickets that they don't even have and they're banking on the assumption that they will acquire this amount of tickets on the day that TicketMaster puts them up for public sale.
They put them up on StubHub today because they know that disgruntled 10C members will be desperate when they are shut out from the presale. They'll go hunting for tickets and StubHub has their fix.Post edited by trabera onTen Club Member #10XXX

i mean i like the 10C and all and have historically had very good luck with tickets, but the losing items in your cart is ridiculous, for Ed's 08 west coast tour, the error happened during the actual check out, i had 4 pending charges for tickets that i ended up not getting.
i think that's whats frustrating and what people are complaining about. i'd just like to say that tim b. did say on the sirius show the increase in 10C memberships was to cover new servers and such, but it seems like that didn't happen.
anyway, sorry a lot of people had trouble.
sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. at the end of the day, if you really want to be in the buildings for the shows, you will find your way in."If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph: The only proof he needed for the existence of God was music." KV Jr.0 -

You're entitled to the things they list in the "what you get" list. Notice there is no time guarantee on ANYTHING and no promise of successfully scoring tickets.
They skipped out on an issue of DEEP for me but immediately sent me a whole set when I brought it to their attention.
The customer service that resides in the 10C should be PRAISED. They have answered every email that I've written and they've fixed every mistake almost immediately.Ten Club Member #10XXX

I really hope that you are right, Trabera. But I'm going to persist in my position... Can 10C track the tickets, and find - and kick out - the scalpers? I know a person can miss a planned concert once in a while... But they can see if there is the same person selling the tickets over and over.
It's not the first time I see 10C tickets in StubHub. For the 2010 MSG concerts, the 10C tickets were between $2,000 and $5,000. And there were a lot.
I hope that the big guys in stage can hear this petition. During the 90's PJ was breaking Ticketmaster's balls for the high ticket fees, and they were right. These days things are better, but now the scalpers are doing the great business WITH US...Post edited by peru_betterman onYou are!0 -

Oops I ripped your face off? Did anyone see that cute default page? I WISH I could rip their face off. You know, in 20 years of buying tickets to rock shows I've never had an experience anywhere near as dumb and frustrating as that one. You should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves. For an organization on a clear, unabashed march to make as much money as possible right now, the very least you could do is invest some of that back into your website if you intend to sell high-demand tickets as you did this afternoon. The server failures were ridiculous and this isn't the first time the mistake has been made.
No one gives a fuck about some limited edition release of Betterman (guitar and organ only)!! We care about seeing Ed tickle his uke live at the Chicago Theatre. I'm not saying it's my right to get tickets in advance through Ten Club... but it shouldn't come down to who sneaks past failing servers.
Complete and utter bullshit today. By the way, announce when and where the fucking festival will be held. Fuck.

It's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to prevent scalpers from doing what they do, especially for larger venues. I know the 10C actively pursues those 10C scalpers, and believe me, they'll get what they deserve.
The best way of combating scalping that I've seen is what the Foo Fighters did for their string of recent LA "secret" shows. You showed up to buy a ticket with cash. You show your driver's license and they put a numbered wristband on you and record your name. The show takes place the same night about 2 hours later. You come back and they check your number and cross you off the list. If your band looks tampered with, you're out.
Now mind you this was done for venues with <500 people. This is IMPOSSIBLE for larger venues. Like hackers, scalpers will ALWAYS look for ways around the rules that are set up to make things fair. Unfortunately, capitalism is what enables this kind of thing so unfortunately we will always have to deal with it.Ten Club Member #10XXX

This is very true.0 -
The only thing I find goofy is that it will drop the tickets from your cart, mid sale, even though their server is what is making things slow. I had a pair of Chicago tickets in my cart, made through to entering my card number, and all of a sudden GONE, talk about a slap to the balls! The reason they were taken from me is because their server was constantly processing pages. So irritating0

Yeah, agreed! I mean, I'm not annoyed per se that I got shut out for tickets. As was said above, small intimate venue and a lot of demand. What pisses a lot of us off is that the server cannot handle the demand (for the past 8 years now) resulting in tickets being "removed" from our carts. Yes, removed. I and several others got a message saying tickets were removed from our carts after trying to go through the checkout process. How is this right? This isn't a new problem and yet 10c continues to ignore it.
It's not in the best interest of the ten club to upgrade the server for a site that only breaks down a few hours a year. Especially since the tickets get sold anyway.
If the 10c had the greatest server on earth, it'd sell out in 7 seconds, and of course, people will still complain. From the 10c perspective the system is not broken enough to warrant the added expenditure.

I only saw it mentioned once or twice.
Eddie Vedder isn't "Pearl Jam". You pay money and are promised the ability to try to get tickets first for Pearl Jam.
You should be thanking your lucky stars for the fact that they try to help out 10c members for artists who aren't Pearl Jam
Once again. Eddie Vedder isn't Pearl Jam, and the 10club isn't an Eddie Vedder fan club.

I think this is where the disconnect occurs...
The Band (Pearl Jam), is the business. The main product is the music... that's the money maker.
The Ten/VHC is a fan club. The band can fully function without the Fan Club.

The business of the Pearl Jam brand when no one comes along because of the music.
The death of the Ten/VHC does not spell the death of Pearl Jam.
