I must say that all of this complaining is such wasted space. Like all of you I have been a PJ fan for a longtime and a member since 98'. My second concert ever was drop in the park at 15. With that said I mean this as a jab to no one, but come on people. June 23/24th 2009, Atlanta. June 17-20 2009, Tennessee shows. June 14/15th 2009, Baltimore. August 19th 2008, Milwaukee. Aug.16/17th 2008, D.C. August 9-13th, Canadian shows. I feel like all of your answers are right in front of you. They/he are not going to play your town/area every time around. How realistic is that? I mean I am from Seattle and in the past we have had very, very few true solo shows. I don't bitch. And for the ones who say, "what's the point of having a membership". Well I say if you really feel that way about a band/person that has done so much for it's fans, different communities, organizations, etc. Then please make sure you do not renew your membership because you are missing the point. Seems to me if you look at where they play, really look and have an open mind they do a hell of a job.
With all due respect, you have no idea what you're talking about "look at where they play they do a hell of a job."

I am a little bummed Eddie isn't coming closer to Columbus, OH, but I definitely can't complain at all since Pearl Jam has shown Ohio a lot of love over the years (17 total shows in Ohio alone since 1992 if the tour history page is correct) including 2 shows last year (Columbus & Cleveland and even Noblesville, Indiana (where they have been 4 times over the years) was within 3 hours from Columbus). I have to decide if I want to drive to Detroit (3 hours and 45 minutes) and spend the $150 to $162 for 2 tickets AND finding someone to go with me to Detroit, MI and possibly stay the night (on a Sunday night at that). Plus I would have to decided whether I would get a hotel and spend the night or drive back 3 hours and 45 min after the show (which would be rough). The Ticket price is pretty high, paying that much for a PJ show is one thing, but Eddie solo as well? Sheesh. Not to mention the fact that the seats aren't seniority based and you don't know what you are going to get. I sure would like to see Eddie solo though. Decisions decisions....
DUDE! Just go! 4 hours of driving is nothing compared to any of us in the southwest who might try to make a show!

High Fidelity 2000 what the hell does, "two posts, hmmm..." mean? really guy. You can see when I joined? So you are a better fan cause you spend a lot of time on the computer? Cause you post more? Do you want to get in a pissing match about how many shows? I have nothing to prove pal. I have traveled many miles to see PJ. Really take real hard look in the mirror.
Again I am sorry if/who i pissed off. I can't answer the Texas thing though, all we can hope for is that your time will come.
So glad you're coming to Minneapolis, Eddie! The Midwest welcomes you!
I hope the show can get some people in the seats though, there's a black keys show and a twins/brewers game in town that night. :-/ Regardless, I hope you enjoy MN in the summertime; it's gorgeous.
The girlfriend and I will have a great fourth of July weekend! Thanks again Ed.

Nothing but love from this Texan right here.
Maybe one day they will be back in Texas for more than one festival show. Regardless, this band is my addiction. I'll travel light years to see em. Nothing like a good road trip!

What does 2 posts mean? It means you're using your board opportunity to be a troll who logs on ONCE to tell people to quit complaining because they are bummed the band hasn't played their region in the past 10 years. I've traveled many miles to see PJ as well, it's the only way to do it since '03 if you live anywhere not on the coasts. It just gets old after a while, and I really haven't been able to do it much the past many tours.

Why are the prices so high? It's an EV solo show not PJ. This is more than a PJ concert costs. Guess I'm priced out of this one. Too bad.
This is a valid question IMHO... I mean, how much does it cost to tote around a few instruments, stool, rug, microphone, and minimal other equipment?!? That could go in a Chevy van.
Don't get me wrong; I'm going to hit Benaroya for sure... but jeez.
Also, the term "south" does not just mean "southEAST"... I do understand the frustration there, but don't expect any explanations. It is what it is.

I do feel bad for those who don’t get shows often, or not at all, but there has to be a reason and it I’m sure it comes down to logistics. It’s probably not feasible money wise to travel to certain locations for shows. I know that sucks, but you can’t expect him to take a loss on shows.
I know it’s music, but it’s still a business and businesses have to make sound, economical decisions every day. These decisions affect everyone involved in the process of putting on this tour. It’s not just Ed. There are probably at least another 50 to 100 people involved in putting these shows on.
I’m sure planning these things is a logistical nightmare.
And I’m sure they wish they could do more and please everyone, but again, not feasible.
I'm looking forward to driving the 8 hours to Minnesota!! And I'm looking forward to spending almost 2 hours in a small room listening to the best songwriter in the world for under 100$
I'm going to enjoy my day. No more reading all the crying and bitching on here.
Good luck to all those trying to get tickets!! See you soon I hope.

I am certainly curious why Red Rocks was omitted. He would sell well there. Even the Paramount theater would have been good. Denver is great rock and roll town, but only two 1 hour PJ shows supporting Tom Petty (in '06) since 2003.
There was a "Bu$hleager" controversy in the paper after '03 (poor and exaggerated reporting IMHO) and I wonder if we are paying for that still.

I see what you're saying and as someone who lives in the northeast, I'm sympathetic toward you guys cause that must be a bummer to feel "left out" after every tour announcement. But you gotta face it: Eddie obviously doesn't like visiting the southern United States. If he did, he'd play there...because he can play wherever he wants due to the demand to see him. If I was a musician of his caliber, I think I'd choose "playing where I want to play" over "making everyone happy" as well. That's just life. When you're in position to call your own shots...you call your own shots.
