Hey I'm cool with Pearl Jam/Ed generally avoiding the South since 2003; they don't owe me an explanation. Although it would be easier to swallow, for me, if they would just say "Hey fuck you in Tennessee, North/South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Texas, etc and here's why....." The story that everyone circulates is because the South is predominately conservative/Republican, whatever. I don't buy that because I can't imagine anyone thinking, "We'll show those conservatives fucks, we won't tour there...", well the conservatives won't miss you, the thousands of us who supported you over the years do. I would just appreciate some honesty, not an explanation, just a "Hey, we're not touring there because....."
100% +1
New Mexico is a freakin' BLUE STATE since 2004!!! They don't have to play Roswell, full of rednecks and conservatives. Santa Fe is one of the artsiest most liberal cities in the country. Arcade Fire is playing Santa Fe in a couple weeks.
I thought the Santa Fe Opera House would have been perfect for an EV show. I got it in my head yesterday and should know better than to get my hopes up. They have one "rock" show a year there over the summer season when it's open (saw David Gray last year, they've also hosted James Brown, Lucinda Williams, Lyle Lovett, etc).
The reason they don't play the south is because the shows don't sell out instantly like they do at MSG etc. The midwest, southwest, south.... maybe they just don't buy concert tickets like the coasts do. But that's the thing, Vedder could play smaller venues as a solo act and sell them out. He could easily play a theater or place that holds 2000 people and sell it out (or very close to where he wouldn't lose any money, which seems to be the driving force of this band these days when it comes to touring). I just see it as the same old places getting the shows. NY got solo shows already. CA got a whole solo tour already. Do something different. You might actually like it.

I must say that all of this complaining is such wasted space. Like all of you I have been a PJ fan for a longtime and a member since 98'. My second concert ever was drop in the park at 15. With that said I mean this as a jab to no one, but come on people. June 23/24th 2009, Atlanta. June 17-20 2009, Tennessee shows. June 14/15th 2009, Baltimore. August 19th 2008, Milwaukee. Aug.16/17th 2008, D.C. August 9-13th, Canadian shows. I feel like all of your answers are right in front of you. They/he are not going to play your town/area every time around. How realistic is that? I mean I am from Seattle and in the past we have had very, very few true solo shows. I don't bitch. And for the ones who say, "what's the point of having a membership". Well I say if you really feel that way about a band/person that has done so much for it's fans, different communities, organizations, etc. Then please make sure you do not renew your membership because you are missing the point. Seems to me if you look at where they play, really look and have an open mind they do a hell of a job.

I'm gonna try and go to the chicago show. This is the first ed show I'm buying tickets for through the ten club and I'm just wondering how difficult is it to get tickets? If I try to get them right when they go on sale will they still be difficult to get? Thanks for the help!
hey guys if my membership had expired, but i have til june to renew which i did will i still be considered active the whole time?
i believe so, but not 100%. my number sucks because i forgot to renew my 1998 membership and my 2003 membership number, so my suggestion to you is to renew regardless

YAAAAY! I caught his solo tour in Baltimore back in 09 and it was easily the most amazing show I've been to aside from PJ at the Spectrum on Halloween - SO freakin' excited to see this tour - road trip & Philly here I come!!!!!
I am a little bummed Eddie isn't coming closer to Columbus, OH, but I definitely can't complain at all since Pearl Jam has shown Ohio a lot of love over the years (17 total shows in Ohio alone since 1992 if the tour history page is correct) including 2 shows last year (Columbus & Cleveland and even Noblesville, Indiana (where they have been 4 times over the years) was within 3 hours from Columbus). I have to decide if I want to drive to Detroit (3 hours and 45 minutes) and spend the $150 to $162 for 2 tickets AND finding someone to go with me to Detroit, MI and possibly stay the night (on a Sunday night at that). Plus I would have to decided whether I would get a hotel and spend the night or drive back 3 hours and 45 min after the show (which would be rough). The Ticket price is pretty high, paying that much for a PJ show is one thing, but Eddie solo as well? Sheesh. Not to mention the fact that the seats aren't seniority based and you don't know what you are going to get. I sure would like to see Eddie solo though. Decisions decisions....

2nd post ever but you people are really just whining.
Okay. All the "play the South" bitching is really annoying. However. I live in Dallas and I will travel ANYWHERE to see these guys. However, it is really frustrating that I haven't had the pleasure of seeing them in my hometown in a very long time.
I just can't understand why there is never any love for Texas on these solo shows. The new ACL Moody Theatre in Austin? Dallas? Houston? Big fucking state. Anything? Nope. Never. I feel like we are being punished because some asshole by the name of Dubya lives here? Who knows? Whatever. I'll be in STL!

I think I chose my words carefully "Hey I'm cool with Pearl Jam/Ed **generally** avoiding the South since 2003;" but if you're down with 5 shows in 8 years (one being Bonnaroo) being true to a region than OK, I guess I'm whining - what do I know?
I was hoping to see him at the Fox and looks like I get my wish. Saw him in Chicago last solo tour. This time I get to save the 6 hour trip and money for the hotel. Going to be an expensive summer with Eddie and PJ20. Good thing I have an amazing wife!
Hello Jammers.... Don't really know why I come on here. Its like driving past a bad car accident, I can't help but look.... Honestly, when Pearl Jam hasn't come to Chicago or Milwaukee, I have driven 12 hours to go to Minneapolis... I have flown to Kansas City, driven several hours to Indianapolis... A fan's gotta do what they gotta due. I don't have much money either. But I will make it work!
There's actually someone on here complaining because they are not coming to Milwaukee when they are coming to Chicago. WTF?
These guys in the band are family guys now. They can't tour everywhere and they can't make everyone happy. They probably gave up trying if they ever come on here and read comments.
EV LOVES the Cubs as most of us know. He is GOING to be in Chicago to see them every summer (assumption on my part) so WHY NOT please all his fans in Chicago land and, as far as I am concerned, a 600 mile radius around there... Because fan that I am if I had to drive 10 hours to see him/them I would do it in a heart beat.
So THANK YOU VERY MUCH Pearl Jam for 20 years of great music and touring. You guys are the best band in the world!
