142 nights * 125 tickets = 35,500 members... just under what Alpine can accommodate. Come on, Pearl Jam, it's so simple!

Am I the only one completely entertained by the disgruntled responses of those opposed to possibly traveling to Alpine?

People saying, "yeah well, I'm not gonna go! I'll show you! I'm waaay too good for that bullshit. I can't believe that's where it is. Here would have been the best place!"

    Really?
    Really...

Do you really think youre going to take a shit on the rest of our birthday cakes by saying things like that? Does it make you feel less shitty in doing so? Knowing you're going to miss an amazing, once in a lifetime event, put on by a band we love and fully support?

Why do you feel the need to even spew your madness? You just look like a fool... A fucking fool that is going to miss out on memories and great times with fans.

I'm not an east coaster and Wisconsin is bullshit. It makes it way to expensive for me to attend. flight to milwaukee or chicago for labor day weekend + rental car + every hotel in a 20 mile radius already being booked.... fuck that.

I'm going to hold out for rumored shows in Montreal and Toronto... spend some time with good friends in a city - not in butfuck nowhere wisconsin - where i have access to things like public transit so I can get loaded at the show and not worry about driving out of there, a free place to stay, and plenty of awesome bars.
Me me me.. Listen to yourself.. I hope you have fun in Montreal and Toronto>> you will not be missed in Wisconsin!! Me and some awesome PJ fans are gonna be having the time of our lives, and the cost and what we each had to sacrifice to be there will get get brought up once.. just before we thank god that we are not in Canada

if there were a 'like' button on the Porch, i'd have clicked on it for your post. it's almost like there are people on here that have liked the band since they first started, but have hated them the last 15 years of the 20 and still aren't happy with anything they do and insist on letting all of us know, even though this band has done so much for us as fans, probably more so than 99% of bands relevant to music today.

+1 you easterners have it so rough ;)

would have been rad to be at red rocks...but no WAY it would fit the demand.

I have no problems about the location...although maybe I'm alone on this, but PJ20 should be just that...PEARL JAM. Why are we subsidizing the cost of other (big) bands being there? It only drives the price wayyy up. If it is a three night stand, it will probably be too much for me to fork over...I can't believe I'm in the minority here. We're talking a $1500 weekend.

That's just my opinion...PJ20 to me would be Mansfield III... get extended PJ sets or at least have Ed do some of his solo stuff mixed in during an extended preset.

I really hope its something I can do, I know it will be special.

i don't even think alpine valley is gonna fit the demand. alota 10c members are gonna be pissed off when they get lawn. why does it have to be at a corporate venue with lame ass rules? no camping after 2 am, thats fucking lame. 2am is like round 3 of drinking for me, seriously it is, heh heh. i understand the love for alpine valley and all but least grant park or central park would be able to accommodate alot more people then 45,000 people. not bitching at all bout alpine but the supply won't meet the demand. i just hope the 10c has some sorta travel package that would have something like a 3 night stay at a hotel and you get a lawn weekend pass.

tailgating is the waaaay to go. No worries about a fake and all the shit.

16oz. cans of beer at Alpine=$13

Get your drink on before and your smoke on in the port-o-shits.

    Noted!
exactly, i wont turn 21 by labor day weekend so my friends and I are just gonna buy a cooler full of beer and shit and a ton of stuff to smoke and bring it up with us since we're driving from florida... i take it we'll be completely wasted by the time we hit the ticket booth.

if u wanna bitch about no camping then why would you follow that up with "grant park is awesome"? The park closes at 11.

After reading this, I don't see Alpine Valley as the answer.

    http://gazettextra.com/news/2011/mar/01/camping-okd-alpine-valley/

Shaw needed town and county approvals for a campground of 75 sites located in the green lot, east of the ticket sales booth.

deputies would be on site 24 hours a day when the campground is occupied.

Campground rules include no barefoot walking, no campfires, lights out at 2 a.m., no charcoal grilling, no vending or fireworks, no pets and no glass bottles or kegs.

Attendance at any concert shall not exceed 35,600.

-- Concerts should normally end at 11 p.m. but never go beyond midnight.

-- If a concert with multiple artists is eight hours or more, concerts cannot be scheduled the day before or the day after.

A surcharge of $1.90 will be attached to each ticket to pay for extra police protection, traffic control and refuse collection.

    Pearl Jam festival? Kinda hokey.

When does the Pearl Jam theme park open? They can open the park next to Dollywood.

Like everyone else, I think WI is pretty much a lock.
I have "soft" plans that can always be changed if it's not.
Also hope 10C comes out with some sweet hotel or camping options we can choose from.

Can't wait for the official announcement so I know if I will have any money left over to do something else this summer!
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

very, VERY interesting sir!!!!!!!!!!! after reading this i don't think Alpine will be the place either...unless they are willing to let PJ break the rules.....but by the sound of it, WI is a fucking police state!! doesn't sound like the place for a PJ fest to me.
