i think is the one ill put last in the 2012 euro tour
but Isle of Wight is amazing bootleg
I like Isle Of Wight better than Werchter also. Think I may have to go back and listen to it again though, just to be sure.

Sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet and sacrifice in the name of bootyology.
All in all, Ill most likely agree with both you guys. Isle of Wight is a more enjoyable bootleg. Both took me by surprise how much I enjoyed them. Isle of Wight was the boot that made me begin to take more serious note about festival performances (many of which are very very enjoyable).

Im all about some bootyology :D

What's your thoughts on this show? Along with Isle of Wight, I believe it's the most underrated boot of 2012. Both are incredibly tight performances.

You have this mission to discover the hidden jewelries. As Eddie and the band are always inclined to bring on their best at the most seemingly irrelevant shows, you wont fail with this mission, bro.

    Indeed 8-)

Most of my favorite shows tend to be the "sleeper" shows or the irrelevant ones. Many of the big or classic shows I do not tend to favor as bootlegs.

  • Listened to Werchter 12 tonight again...previously, I had to have it down low because I was riding with someone at work who likes to talk in the car.

Anyways, take out Ole, and it's very enjoyable. But, and that's a BIG BUTT, Ole is not one of my favorites, then the band fucks it up pretty badly on this one. So, I'd have to say that the Werchter 12 is a 7 on a scale of 10.

That's my review. Next up, Berlin I 12.

toronto 1, 2011. this could the best show I attended in the past 10 years (and I've seem some of the "best). Just something about this show made it so damn special. Uncle Neil, long road, insane porch, great black, betterman, setting forth, faithful; overall awesome town and gorgeous weather. The canadian crowd can bring it!

Valid point about ole. I really enjoy the evolution opener, which is a really good version. Better than average version of comatose too. I would probably give it about the same rating, maybe just a little higher.

Berlin 1 grew on me after a few listens. It has a couple of very sloppy moments, but overall a nice show. Berlin 2 was quite superior in my eyes.

    Brisbane II '06

Not much really entertained me here, much like the 3 other previous Australia '06 boots. I don't know whether I'm just totally burnt out by the '06 tour now, whether the 4 boots genuinely don't appeal and if I'm just waiting to hear Newcastle '06 again!

Nice to hear Picture In A Frame at the start of the 1st encore, Ed dedicating it to his wife as it was her birthday and this was the 1st birthday he'd missed. Kick Out The Jams made its 2nd appearance in 2006 and again (and always) I don't like hearing Pearl Jam cover this. I feel they don't really do a good job covering it (and also because the RATM version is far far superior).

Sticking to one year's series can be tiresome, sometimes. I try to mix it up a little bit, one from 2000-series and then one 2006, one post-2008, and then a 2003, goes like this...

I was somewhat hesitant about Os-shows after awful Brisbane-2009 experience but Newcastle-2006 suggested by you turned that prejudice upside down.

    Holmdel-2003.

Made it to the ocean and had a joint in a tree. :)

The last show of last leg of US. At start, the band seems to be a bit tired from the Boston Experience a few days ago but doesnt take long to get into it. The 3rd song EvenFLow 8.48 long, is a blast, as usual.

Still at CD-1. The slower In my Tree didnt feel that well but Wishlist-jam is good. In general, it is tightly-played. You can never go wrong with the last show of a tour.

amazing show! this show was better than penn state imo. I never understood why this show wasn't up there with the best of the best. I didn't think the band was tired at all. Hershey on the other hand

They should. This is by far my favorite thread and the best thread in the entire forum. When I'm looking for suggetions on boots I haven't heard or looking to buy next, want actual insightful feedback on certain boots, or just a great place to go to talk about boots - this is always the first place I go. Nothing but great feedback here. :D

Berlin I turned out to be much better than I expected. Through the most of the show, I was trying to catch the lack of energy or flaw in the set, as others had stated that the second day was way better.

Then, Do The Evolution, starts...into the "oh, oh, oh, oh...oh, oh, oh, oh..." part. Wow! That was soooooo bad, they should have just "evacuated that one" too.

Listening to Midtown Festival in Atlanta right now. Heard a lot of people didn't like that one either. But, so far, I'm enjoying it.

Wow no kidding! Great show! Loved the run wishlist, WWS, glorified g, Satans bed to porch to end 1st set. Awesome! No doubt one of the best black tags ever. Wish they didn't flub fatal. Ed's voice sounded so beautiful but the lyrics were jumbled up. Last exit to leash  both killer versions. I'll never argue with a little dirty frank. I have to listen to this one again soon.

Yeah, a few people had some issue with Atlanta while they were there. I think most of that boiled down to the fact they didn't like the setlist and may have been too far back in the massive crowd to really get a feel for the show, which is somewhat understandable. I know YLed and i had a blast at the show. I personally liked the setlist, not my favorite, but it flowed very well. Most definitely would like to get your opinion on the bootleg for Atlanta. I think you'll find many members on the board, some who didn't attend the show, who really like the bootleg. Like werchter and Isle of Wight too many fans have ignored the show because its a festival setlist. I plan on putting up my detailed review of the atlanta boot soon, it's all I've been listening to.

Oh my, how things change. We knew that wasn't going to happen. It must've been that bowl of loud mouth soup I was drinking at the time.

But, it has been a little over a week since I listened to a boot - which has been remarkably tough to do. Like an addiction of some sort, even after a week, I find myself later after work or at night getting a sudden urge to pop in a boot and listen. Don't know why, but kind of waiting until we're at least a month out from Wrigley, and then I will really start listening to boots hardcore again getting in that concert/tour mode.

No more boots for me until the Alpine boots are released.....with that being said, whenever The Vault #2 arrives, I will have that fkn thing staring me in the face each and every day. Like a junkie, we'll see if I relapse.

Your post a year back dude, how did you hold out??!?! ;):lol::lol::lol::lol:

    :oops: :lol::lol::lol:

I need a bootleg break bigtime but I'm just gonna get through these last 9 shows of 2006 and then take a break. About 3 or 4 weeks before the Manchester shows I listened to my previous shows and then had a week off listening to any Pearl Jam before seeing them live.

    Atlanta 2012

Somewhat the black sheep of the 2012 tour, mostly all due to the fact it received a rather predicable festival setlist following a rather incredible festival setlist at Pensacola the previous night. Nonetheless, I can almost guarantee if you check your rarity setlist expectations at the door, you will have a very enjoyable ride with Atlanta. The bootleg audio is almost mixed perfectly; the guitars have just enough crunch, Matt's drums sound absolutely amazing, and Ed's voice is just right in the mix. Easily in the top 5 tightest/most error free performances of 2012. I highly recommend the Atlanta '12 boot for the serious bootleg listener, not so much for the ones that just hope to hear about 6 rare songs and judge a show based on that.

I persoanlly prefer fast openers to slow ones, Why Go is in my top tier for an opening to a show. The drums get everything started so nice and energetically. As soon as Matt hits that first snare beat, listen to how beautiful the drums sounded that night. Loud, punchy, and slightly crisp I can never image Matt's drums sounding better on a bootleg. Luckily he is mixed slightly higher in the mix than usual, not only because his tone was incredible, but he really shines on the boot and gives the songs an extra shot of energy that may be lacking at times in other shows. A few examples: listen to Why Go, Save You, Corduroy, Even Flow, and Betterman. While these are songs you usually skip while listening to a bootleg, each is a little more tasty and energetic than usual. We get a mini drum solo in Even Flow that worked quite efficiently, an almost Jazzy vibe to the slightly different than usual Save it for Later tag, and what could have been a crappy version of Save You after Ed has to improv a few lyrics is totally redeemed with very energetic tight drumming.

While Pensacola was a fairly tight show, the minor errors really added up. This is not the case with Atlanta, which truly has very few errors at all. The more noticeable comes towards the first part of the show with Stone's guitar being absent in Why Go from the interlude to the end of the song and Ed having some trouble with lyrics in Save You. Luckily, Jeff and Mike keep Why Go sounding very full, and while somewhat flawed, its still a very energetic, above average take on the song. Since Stone's guitar was absent, more focus is put on Jeff's bass lines, which produces a very interesting dynamic for the song that kinda works. Ed's slight improvisation on Save You is not one of the worst I have heard, and he never quits singing nor mumbles terribly. He was just slightly off on a couple lines. Other than these two small flaws, the show is as tight as they come. Not to mention the setlist flows beautifully. Small town into Corduroy works so well, Jeremy into Porch is like hard rocking peanut butter and jelly, Amongst the Waves-Wishlist-Betterman is a beautiful trio, and who would have thought Know Your Rights into Nothingman could actually work nicely?

I try to be as unbiased as I can when judging bootlegs when I attended the show personally. I know a handful of members whom attended the show did not have the experience I did and did not enjoy the show. Most of them have cited the fact they were considerably far back in the massive crowd of 60,000 and hated the setlist. While there is certainly a lack of rarities, Atlanta did receive a stunning Nothingman, a hard rocking Supersonic, and the best version of Know Your Rights I have heard. Not to mention, no Last Kiss or Just Breathe (which was expected and on the set but marked off). Having Crazy Mary take their spot was a nice choice on the bands part, and greatly appreciated. The band was in great spirits. As Ed says on the boot, they have had great vibes, great scenery, great weather, and overall a blast at the show. If they weren't having a ball, they have a funny way of showing it. Ed said they would pay the fine for just going over the curfew to play RITFW, which is an almost punky version the song they had to play it so fast. The good spirits of the band, the well flowing setlist, almost error free performance, Matt having a killer night, and the bootleg being most likely the best sounding 2012 boot it's hard not to enjoy this boot. I wish more heard it. I give it a strong A/A-
