My completely uninformed theory is that the industry has figured out pricing for big shows is incredibly elastic. As long as the venue size isn't a reach, there are so many more casual concertgoers for these shows that they'll pay 300 as easily as 150. It's a splurge for them anyway vs lunatics like me - if I'm going to 50-70 shows each year I really have to pick my spots on big shows now. I can't go to several of these a year like I used to.

And quite honestly the same applies to me with my favorite big bands. If Pearl Jam or Tool are coming to town I will go to at least one show and pay pretty much whatever they're asking.

Damn, $300 for pit tix in Vancouver

Seems about right. I paid 220usd for Seattle last year.  That's about $300cdn.

Ticket prices be crazy.  At least it's not $500 like it was for ac/dc :(
$500, were seats more than pit?

Nope, same thing as Foo.  GA section at the front of the stadium floor, with a plethora of seated rows behind it.  Pit tix are the best, they usually command the highest price.  Especially when it's a limited sized pit at the front of the floor.

Concert tickets really spiked post Covid.  AC/DC is a pretty big rock band, whom a lot of people thought where done.   The tour was a pretty limited amount of cities/dates, which is getting pretty common.  It was the only show in Canada and the Pacific Northwest, so lots of people traveled to it. It sold out like hotcakes.  When the onsale happened I was watching people pick up $800 platinum tickets like they were nothing.  TM would drop another two rows, and gobble gobble gobble.  Maybe I should of mentioned it was $500 CAD.

I don't think Foo Fighters have that demand. Mostly because they've never really stopped touring in 30 years and they've still got some gas in the tank.  These bands 10 to 20 years older... that"s starting to attract you better see them now before you can't prices.

To be fair tickets were also getting expensive before covid.  For the Stones show in Seattle in 2019 GA Pit was $500 USD/ticket, and the seated rows right behind the pit, and closer side sections were $400/tickets.  I saw GNR in Seattle when they first reunited, and it was like $225 USD for pit and that was in 2016.

Springsteen pit tickets last year were $500 CAD face. Albeit a much smaller venue (Rogers Arena).

The ticket prices are high, but it's not a foo fighters phenomenon.  Stadium/Arena shows are getting expensive.   Even with that, they still aren't commanding the prices of even more veteran acts.

I am curious about the decision to play a Stadium in Vancouver.   I'm not convinced the demand is there for that like it was in Seattle.  Vancouver is much smaller.  Alberta has their own show so Canadians don't need to travel west for it.  Seattle had a show last year.   My gut tells me the demand for FF in Vancouver is going to be soft.  Probably means TM is going to have to drop prices down the road to move tickets.  Which is what they do.  Start high, then lower later on if they don't move.
Stones and Springsteen tix have always been expensive for the 15 years, way before covid.  In general though, post covid, concert tix are way more expensive.  I definitely agree, if you like a younger band that's only 10-ish yrs old, go see them before their ticket prices are through the roof.  These legacy bands that are 30+ yrs old are charging way to much but if people are paying, you need to ask yourself, why would they charge any less?  I certainly don't agree with it but bands have a say in pricing way more that they lead on.  Robert Smith from The Cure proved it.  Again, nobody is making anyone do anything but if people are willing to pay, bands, promotors, etc.. aren't going to charge less.
