Funny, was thinking the same exact thing when I was listening this morning!!ehbacon said:home sick today and listening, sounds great.
Iron Rooster is Old Man by Neil Young though
But the EP--I dig it! It gets better with more listens, too. Dave's letter makes it even better of a listen. I love when he takes the time to write notes to us fans. Reading it, it seems like this whole process was an absolute blast for them. Just having a great time making music together--and that shows in pretty much all the songs.
Saint Cecilia- at first, I was like 'eh, this sounds like many Foos songs,' but after a few listens, I'm like well shit, this rocks! The 'formula' that works for many Foos songs works for a reason- it's their pocket. They know how to write a good, catchy rock song. And this is a damn good, damn catchy. I can see this being amazing live.
Sean- can't put my finger on why I don't love it, but not my favorite...for some reason kinda a weird song to me?
Savior Breath- hello, Motorhead! that was my first thought. I can see them having a blast recording this. I love it.
Iron Rooster-a song I have to warm up to more...i'd love to know more about the meaning behind it. I feel I'd like it more with some context.
The Neverending Sigh- probably my favorite on the EP. Unique with a riff that had me smile upon hearing it. Cool lyrics, too. Wanting to hear this one live the most. I cant stop listening to this one!"Sometimes you find yourself having to put all your faith in no faith."

No, they're mostly abandoned songs that never got fully formed, but the recording was all done this year at the small boutique hotel in Texas that the Foos stayed in while doing this year's Austin City Limits festival gigs (on two separate weekends).LukinFan said:I'm really digging the new EP. Gonan agree with mostly everybody else and say "Neverending Sigh" is the best track on the album. Although "Savior Best" is a close second.8/28/98- Camden, NJ

I think they revisted old songs that got left on the cutting floor over the years. They did record them in the hotel though, so I think it's fresh takes on old songs that never made it onto albums.LukinFan said:I'm really digging the new EP. So these are all old B-sides?
Good news as well for us Canadians, it's on amazon.ca now:
http://www.amazon.ca/Saint-Ceciilia-Vinyl-Foo-Fighters/dp/B0186J5ZKG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448472360&sr=8-1&keywords=foo+fighters+ep
problem is that it's $14. Hopefully something comes up on black friday deals that I can order it with to avoid shipping charges.0 -
